POW! WOW! DC! 2017: Mural Recap!
The international arts festival, POW! WOW!, returned to Washington D.C.’s NoMA District (Last year’s coverage) during the final two weeks of May 2017 to strengthen community through the discussion and creation of stunning murals by some of the world’s leading artistic talents.
2017′s roster included 15 artists: CHELOVE (D.C.), JD Deardourff (D.C.), Jordann Wine (D.C.), Julia Chon (D.C.), Key Han (D.C.), Martin Swift (D.C.), Mas Paz (D.C.), Matt Corrado (D.C.), Kaplan Bunce (Hawaii), Madsteez (California), STASH (Brooklyn), TRAV (California), It’s a Living (Mexico), Muro (Spain) and Qbic (Russia).
The traveling festival, it’s home base being located in Hawaii, is quite possibly one of the most important artistic events happening in the world. Having experienced several editions personally, I can safely say it’s something akin to magic.
