Lloyd looked at him. He wasn’t sure if Ronan was training or doing this out of anger. “Not all, but they might question some.” He expressed and looked at him. “Just wanted to check if things were alright. We didn’t exactly had the best start in our last conversation, though I came with good news. Said hunter has…behaved lately”
“’m not afraid of questions.” Ronan wiped the sweat off his brow , breath coming in pants. Singing his teeth in the wraps the wolf worked on uncoiling them from his hands, taking a seat on the nearest bench. “That so? Good to know. Did you take care of it?”
doctor-mcqueen:
“Nah. I guess I’m just not the type to focus on that kind of thing, at least I haven’t been. I’ve been so focused on my career, I’ve never really had time to stop and think about my love life long enough to have or nurture on. You have to know where I’m coming from, being a pack alpha now. It must be hard to really think about dating, if you’re even ready start doing that again,” he shrugged, not entirely sure where Ronan was on that topic. He was the pack alpha, strong, gorgeous, of course it would be expected for him to find another mate sometime soon. He was willing to bed Ronan was being pressured about it now. “Hey! For your information I was tossing them back with the rest of you two weeks ago. I’m a doctor, Ro, not a priest. I can let loose once in a while.”
“I understand.” Ronan nodded. Probably more than he liked to. “Between H&S, the hunters, and our own wolves the last thing I have on my mind is looking for a partner.” Although he knew he’d have to look around to doing that soon. Understanding as his pack was, it’s been five years since Josh, they wanted an Alpha pair, they wanted security. Especially in a time like this, when everyone was looking to point fingers at werewolves every last bit of stable ground was desperately sought after. And what was more stable than family? “Oh, really.” Ronan drawled, shoulder checking the omega as they walked. “Could’ve fooled me.” He chuckled. “Tell you what, if you let me buy you a beer after we’re done in the gym I just might believe you.”
tohuntortohunt:
Don’t your werewolves ask why we speak so much?” He asked as he entered the famous gym again. “By the way, hope heat weak wasn’t hard for you.”
@ronanmurphyalpha
“My wolves don’t question my every move, hunter.” Ronan answered without turning his back to see the man enter, instead he focused on the punching bag he was working. “Heat. Was fine.” The wolf panted. Catching the bag with both hands. “To what do I owe the pleasure?
Despite himself, Asher couldn’t help but chuckle. “Hey, you said it, not me.” He teased back, hands raised in some sort of silent proclamation of innocence. While Asher tended to try and stay away from pack politics, even he wasn’t a stranger to it. How unpredictable some wolves could be, especially in a pack where proving your strength was not only an activity, but part of their culture. It was one of the reasons why Asher had taken a healer role in the pack. “Probably not,” he admitted. “I don’t think any doctor worth his salt would tell his alpha patient ‘to let’ during his rut. Consider it friendly advice.” He stopped beside his alpha, watching the street until the way was clear. “I’ll happily take that advice as soon as I find a wolf crazy enough to put up with me. It’s not always as easy for us as it was for you.” He decided to leave talk of Josh at that. He didn’t want to push the subject. “Yeah, it can be overwhelming, but I’m sure if she had her alpha there to watch over her, she was fine. Just as long as you made sure she ate and drank enough.”
Teeth showing behind his smile Ronan laughed, he wasn’t about to be a banner waving figure of equality any time soon but he supported the notion. Maybe a little hesitantly, maybe he did have trouble believing a pack made solely out of omegas was a good idea, then again he’d say that a pack was a structure you couldn’t have one or the other only. He smiled gently when Asher mentioned Josh. “Are you trying to sell yourself short there buddy?” Ronan never actually looked at Asher like that, granted before he had Josh and when Asher came back Ronan was too busy with the pack but he was good looking – upturned lips, blue eyes the kind of face that just begged to be looked at, wolves would probably gladly sell an arm for the opportunity to have him. “You’ll be fine.” The Alpha smiled. “Look at you, sound all smart and poised. Just a few years back you were tossing beers with the rest of us lot.”
doctor-mcqueen:
“Or might as well be if an Omega is the top dog of the pack,” he winked. He watched his alpha’s tongue slide over that full bottom lip, the way his lips curved into a smile, then faded back. Whether or not the fight would actually play out exactly the way he said it would, or at all if he was being honest, he was looking forward to it nonetheless. It had been a while since he was really able to let go, and having it be with Ronan made it that much easier to imagine. “I did. I just hope you had some help holding down the fort. You can’t be expected to be on your A-Game the entire week. Even alphas have needs during heat week. You keep it bottled up every month, something’s bound to blow up at some point. Trust me. It happens to the best of us. Not that I’m one to talk. I spent my entire heat week switching between watching Game of Thrones, taking ice cold showers, and working out… a lot.” While it might not have been what his inner wolf wanted to do, it was for the best. At least that’s what he told himself. “How did Lily handle the heat?”
“Some might argue they are anyway.” Ronan snorted, pulling his shoulders together for another shrug, pack politics were a messy thing and he’d be the first to admit that some wolves had more ego on themselves than they cared to admit. Often times himself included. “Should I consider that doctor's orders?” He asked, feet halting too look around before crossing the street. “Is it my turn to tell you that you should give to your needs? Be a good Alpha and encourage all of my omegas to take a mate?” Ronan looked at Asher trying to bite back laughter. “She was fine, irritated but fine. You know how that first one goes, you never know what to expect and you keep thinking the worst is over before it hits you again.”
doctor-mcqueen:
“Alright, so maybe not little. But that’s the way they’ll be telling it to their friends when it happens. You know how Kibas like to exaggerate.” Asher nodded, proud of himself for baiting his alpha into giving him a round in the ring. There was nothing more frustrating sometimes than being an omega in a pack that valued strength and battle. His gender was considered the weakest, and he constantly felt the need to prove himself one way or another. With him going off to college and being more of a healer than anything else, that pressure to prove himself as a fighter only increased. He was a Kiba after all, no matter what kind of school he went to. “Wow… busy sounds like a bit of an understatement. I wish I could have helped.” Though for obvious reasons, he knew that wasn’t possible. “Leave it to the Kiba pack to turn this town upside down during a heat week. All of those wolves at the gym though? Suppressants or not, that must have been… exciting,” he bit his lip. “At least tell me you had a little bit of fun last week.”
“Right, right, next thing you know people would be talking how Kiba will be the next Maverick?” Ronan tossed the wolf a sly look, licking the smile off his lips. He had no doubts Asher could hold his own in the ring. Omega or not he was Kiba first. Still Ronan never did like fighting omegas, practically going against his own nature. The wolf chuckled. “I’m pretty sure all packs go a little wild during heat. Besides, you had plenty on your hands as it was.” Ronan eyed the omega’s teeth over his lip staying silent for a moment before he shook his head no. “You know I don’t spend heat with anyone. Even with the protection it’s…too high of a risk. I did end up watching the whole first season of Gilmore Girls with Lily if you count that for fun.”
doctor-mcqueen:
He couldn’t say he was surprised to see that cocksure grin on his alpha’s face at the challenge, in fact he would have been a little worried if he hadn’t seen it. His gaze brightened. “I’m your doctor. Don’t think I don’t know every single one of your weak spots by now. Also, I may not have been fighting at the gym, but I’ve been watching. I just might surprise you. I just hope I don’t embarrass you in front of all of those impressionable betas and alphas in your gym. It might look a little awkward having to watch their alpha’s ass being kicked by that brainy little omega that ran off to doctor school,” he shot back in jest. “Just give me the time and place. I’ll gladly take you down.” He cast his alpha a sideways glance. “I’m not just talking about your bones, Ro. How are things in general? Did you have a busy week last week?” He figured if anyone had their hands full during a heat, it was a pack alpha.
Ronan’s brow furrowed. “Brainy little omega?” He tried to keep a straight face, failing miserably at the task. “Alright, a challenge is a challenge. Next Friday, then, you and me on that ring. I'll try not to cry too hard.” Ronan held his hands in mock defense in front of him dropping them quickly with a grunt. “Very busy, actually.” The Alpha groaned at the memory. “Some of the wolves were staying at the gym because of the space and the easy access to suppressants. We had two betas arrested for a bar fight and one Alpha and omega for indecent exposure. Between that and dealing rut…well -- ” he let his sentence trail off. It had been hell of a week. “It's been something.”
isaiahthelostboy:
Isaiah didn’t know why he had gone out. Usually it ended as a disaster. With people asking questions he couldn’t answer– but he’d decided to go to the local bar and have a drink. If only under the pretenses of figuring out what kind of alcohol he liked or not. When the bartender came, he ordered some kind of apple ale before sitting back and waiting.
“Oh no.” Ronan pushed his hand between the other wolf and his drink nose wrinkling at the sight of it. “That’s just wrong mate. Don’t you know not to order anything other than beer in this place? Jay has been watering his drinks for two years now. I’d be surprised if there was even some Tang in that glass you ordered.”
doctor-mcqueen:
“Well, you’ve got a doctor in the pack, might as well use him, right?” In truth, that was a large reason as to why he wanted to become a doctor in the first place. God knew members in the Kiba pack had a tendency of hurting themselves and/or others, and having an on call doctor loyal to them would come in handy. There was also a sense of satisfaction feeling needed in that way. “I’ll stop by more often. Maybe a biweekly thing? Maybe more. We should get together some time and work out some sort of schedule. How does that sound?” A genuine grin tugged at his lips at Ronan’s enthusiasm. He supposed being the Kiba alpha, it was only natural for him to want all of his wolves to be at their peek physical condition, able to take care of themselves, able to prove themselves. “Yeah? I’ll show you how soft and slow I am when I get in the ring. I bet I could even take you. If anything, med school has made me an even more dangerous fighter.” Tucking his hands in his pockets, he bumped his shoulder affectionately against his alpha’s. “But anyway, how have you been lately? I haven’t really gotten a chance to touch base with you in a while. Granted last week I was… unavailable. But still, how are you?”
Ronan smiled, looking up eyes squirming at the brief patch of sunlight they caught on walking, skin warmed up under the touch. “Sounds good.” It was something to be happy about. The pack was doing good, better than good actually, things were going pretty great. He could use the steady cash from the fights and the percent that came from the arena to make sure he had enough money to both keep the gym running and provide for the wolves that couldn’t fend for themselves. “Oh really?” Ronan smirked, meeting the omega’s blue gaze with his own. “I wouldn’t say no to you if you wanted a fight. That’s not the first time I’ve heard those words this week and yet here I am…still waiting to be taken down.” His chuckle died down in a smile when their shoulders met and he shrugged. “I’m fine, Asher.” The Alpha ran his fingers over the back of his neck. “No need for a check up on me. It’s been a month since I last broke anything.”
doctor-mcqueen:
“Correction, my dumb alpha,” he retorted playfully, wrapping an arm around Ronan’s neck to pull him into some secure mix of a choke hold and a hug. He knew Ronan was more than strong enough to break free of it, but it didn’t stop him from trying. After a while he let go and jogged ahead, just in case his alpha wanted to retaliate. “I’ll come by more often. I usually just let the pack come to me, but I see what you mean about being right there to patch them up. Who knows, it might encourage me to get back in the ring a few nights a week. You know? See if I’ve still got it.” He smile brightened as his own sapphire gaze focused on his Alpha’s. “You’re right. Kiba’s in my blood. Don’t let the degree fool you. Maybe a good fight will help me with all of this excess energy I have from my heat. Do you have an open spot for a match this week?”
Ronan’s eyes rolled, a yelp barked out in surprise when the other wolf pulled him down, hands pressed against the omega in pure instinct to work himself free of the hold, but he didn’t move against it instead laughed when he was let free, tongue pushing against his cheek. “I think they’ll appreciate that. Besides, I know mates would really appreciate it if there was some immediate help for the injured ones.” He couldn’t help it if a wolf was stubborn enough not to tap out in time, dislocated shoulders and broken bones born from locks were all too often on the ring. Asher’s words caught his attention. “I’ll make one. We have some matches set with Fenrir wolves, but I think I can push some things around. Don’t get prissy if you lose, though, that doctor school of yours making you all soft and slow.”
doctor-mcqueen:
“It’s med school. And fair enough,” he conceded with a grin. Asher had been used to the judgmental whispers and sideways stares of disappointment on many of his pack members faces when he’d decided to go to college, rather than stay in he gym. No matter how much he tired to explain the benefits to his pack of him doing what he was doing, there was always resistance. Luckily, once he returned and opened up his practice, his value to his pack and his loyalty, was proven without question. He hoped. “Really? Are people starting to notice?” He scratched the back of his head. “Honestly, I’ve just had a lot on my plate. I haven’t had the chance. Plus, it feels almost counter-productive. Beating on the same guy who’s arm I just set the week before,” he chuckled. “I do need to get back there soon. Maybe that’s another reason why I’ve been so restless lately. All this pent up energy, I’ve had no way of letting out.”
“Alright. Med school. Forgive the dumb Alpha.” Ronan laughed, tucking his hands in his pockets. He’d never gone to college himself, saw no need for it when his whole life was here in Rune. Looking back at Asher, he shrugged the corners of his mouth going down in a disregarding sweep. “Some have asked.” Ronan’s own smile found its way on his mouth when the other wolf chuckled. “You don’t have to fight every night, I think the pack would appreciate it if you just patched them up as long as you're there.” Blue eyes settled on the omega’s face. “Maybe.” He agreed. “You're still Kiba, so there's no changing that part of you, is there.”
cleverbetajudeporter:
“Thank you” Jude said with a cold voice as he went and got into position in the machine. He took a deep breath and was about to begin his reps when the other apologized. Jude relaxed a bit, but he still felt pretty mad at the other wolf. “Just because I’m a beta doesn’t mean you can yell at me and expect me to kiss the ground you step on. So don’t do that again, please”
Ronan growled at the beta the sound lacking any subtleness. “Watch yourself, pup. You don’t know me so I don’t appreciate you putting words in my mouth. I apologized once, don’t make me regret it.”
doctor-mcqueen:
“Well luckily, I haven’t had to lie to you about those yet,” he offered back. The Kiba pack had a wild reputation of being brash, violent, impulsive wolves who valued strength and power over anything else. It was a reputation well earned, that was irrefutable, but there was also more to the pack. They were a family in so many respects, and in moments like these, after a rough week like the one they’d had, he’d never felt more at ease. “Just what exactly are you insinuating, Ronan?” His smile only widened. He had to say, he had been impressed with Ronan as of late. God knew that the guy had a rough start as the pack’s alpha, but he’d grown up, turned into someone the pack, Asher, could really depend on, someone they felt safe with. “Of course I’ll head over. Do you mind if we go on foot though? I’ve spent the past seven days cooped up, I need to stretch my legs a little.”
“Well if you can’t figure it out I think that they didn’t do that good of a job in that doctor school of yours.” Ronan chuckled. He hadn’t been an Alpha when the other left and he didn’t like it then even, still his father taught him better than to stand in the way of his wolves wanting other things for themselves. Asher never gave him a reason to question his loyalty, quite the opposite in fact. “No.” He shook his head. “I think I can use a good walk too.” Even though heat wasn’t as tiring for him as it was for omegas it still felt like going a week on a single glass of water alone. “You know I haven’t seen you fight in the club recently. How are things going with you?”
