⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The laughing sound she made would’ve put off shallower men, but Dom wasn’t even phased by it. He thought it was kind of cute, in fact. “Maybe I’ll just hold you to that,” he replied coolly, his head swimming at the thought of her sticking around for the long haul. They may have been hitting it off, yes, or it could’ve been a fluke. Either way, he didn’t want it to stop. “But you, a shithead?” he questioned, mostly out of disbelief. “No way. You’re totally a perfect little angel.” he concluded, following it up with a wink. Not that he didn’t see her that way, because God only knew that he’d been through enough that he considered just about anyone more innocent than him, and she was certainly no exception to that rule. He saw her as perfection, and he knew at least somewhat that even if she were to protest, he’d make it a point to tell her.
He noticed halfway through that decision that she was watching him, in a way that made his stomach do a flip. She was so beautiful, and it felt as if her eyes were peering into his soul. And then she kissed him, even though it was unexpected, he welcomed it. His lips responded quickly, finding a tenderness in her touch, and attempting to match it by running his fingers through her hair. “Woah,” he muttered when they broke contact, unable to articulate anything past that. He was stunned, not in a bad way.. he wanted to do it again, actually. So he waited a moment, searching her eyes permissively, hoping that she would be okay with it. His face was still close enough to hers, and it felt like time had stopped, like they were the only people around for miles. It would be so easy to make that leap, he just wanted to make sure he wouldn’t be doing it alone.
Once upon a time she would’ve agreed with him. She thought she was this perfect little angel, especially in her teen years. Even then, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. She’s always been this way. Maybe even a little bit worse. All about herself, thinking she has this perfect life, not giving a fuck about what anyone else thinks. Now? It’s more of a mask to hide how broken she feels inside. How terrified. It’s funny how killing someone and hiding will change you. She glances away, because she wants to tell him how wrong she is. That she’s far from the angel that he sees her as. As flattering as it is, she wishes he didn’t see her that way. That way when she tells him everything about her, he won’t view her differently. She already knows she’s going to let him down and that... stings.
She grins when he watches her, almost asking if he could kiss her again. It’s sweet, the fact that he’d wait for her okay, when she didn’t before. She does it again, standing on her tip toes to close the gap once more. Okay, so this wasn’t what she had planned at all, and she especially never saw herself kissing someone in Spencers, with poop emoji hats on their head, but... it’s out of the ordinary. It’s different and she... likes it. This kiss goes on for longer, and she’s getting lost in it. It’s different, kissing someone just to... kiss. Normally she kisses people in the heat of the moment, since that’s really all that she’s done for the past couple of years. She’s done the dating thing and it wasn’t for her but... maybe she could change her mind for Dom.
