[Indigo didnât hesitate in sitting down, though she didnât sit as close as she might have normally sat next to her best friend. It was weird with things being this awkward between them. It was so unnatural she just didnât know how to act. Acting normally though just didnât seem right when her thoughts had been anything but normal since that night. All she had been able to think about was kissing her best friend, touching her and doing so much more. It was all she wanted to do and she felt ashamed for it. She wasnât supposed to be having these kinds of feelings and thoughts for someone she had been best friends with for almost as long as she could remember.] Iâm not really sure how we can make this any less awkward than it already is. I would say we could just pretend it didnât happen but thatâs pretty much what weâve been doing and ⌠well that obviously is not working. [Indigo wanted to tell her that she didnât want to forget that it had happened, but she was scared at what the other girl would thing. She didnât know what she would do if Rory wasnât at all feeling the same way and she ended up ruining their relationship. Still there was a big part of her that didnât think theyâd truly be able to work through this if they werenât completely honest with each other.] I want to be honest with you, Rory ⌠but Iâm kind of scared.
Yes, pretending it didnât happen is not going to work. I canât stop thinking about it honestly. [It took a lot for Rory to admit that, but it was true. Not only could she not stop wondering what it would have been like if it had gone further, she also couldnât stop thinking about what it might have done to their friendship. It was awkward now, and that was something that her friendship with Indie had never been. The two girls had almost always been on the same page about everything and just . . . got each other. This had thrown that out the window though. Rory had no idea how Indie was feeling and from the way she had been acting towards her friend, she was sure that Indie had no idea what Rory was feeling either. Probably because Rory wasnât even sure how she was feeling. On one hand, she had really enjoyed the kissing. Like, really enjoyed it. More than she had enjoyed anything of that nature in a long time. The way that the other girl had kissed her and how soft and perfectly in sync they had moved together . . . just the thought of it had her heart pumping a little faster. She had no doubt in her mind that if she had the opportunity, she would do it again. On the other hand though, this girl was her best friend, her rock, the person who was always there no matter what. If they continued with what they were doing in a relationship format . . . How would that affect them if it turned out not so great? Was this worth risking losing Indie in her life all together? Rory wasnât sure that it was.] Iâm scared too. I donât want to lose you. No matter what else, I donât want that to happen, but that . . . that was really good the other night. Drunk or not.Â
