Reading Is An Escape
Listen to your mother, man. She is the kindest, wisest and the bravest soul that you´ll ever know. She has been through so much in life yet and she is still strong, bestowing all her energy to comfort and care for you. She will have the best advice for everything because she knows you the best and she wishes you the best.
I´m from a small family with a big “library”.When I was younger my mother always forced me to read everyday at least 15 minutes. To be honest, I hated to read, I hated books and hated everything what wasn´t that „cool”. Sometimes it´s easier to choose Netflix, go out with our friends, watch movies or just chat. And when somebody asks us “do you read a lot?” We just answer “oh, I wish I had more time for reading”. Little lies. We are lying to ourselves as well.
My mother was right (as always). Nowadays I read everyday and I love everything about books. I love that new books are being made each day and old books stay around to tell us histories and stories of days long gone. I love the weight of a book in my hands, the feeling of the pages on my fingers. I love the smell of books, especially the old ones. The older the better.
I admire writers and poets. I love that they can make me experience some experiences I’ll never be able to have in real life. One of my favorite writers is Sándor Márai from Košice, who during the communism immigrated to the USA. He wrote a short story about reading. He said that he bought his classics used. Used books have a story all their own, as they’ve passed through someone else’s hands and mind. He also mentioned something: “Think of it - only man reads”, what a big privilege, I was thinking about this thought for a week.
Now I´m so thankful for my mother, that she made me love reading and if I could turn back time I wouldn't argue with her. I´m full of joy when it rains outside because that means it´s time for reading. It´s like a seance for me. I sit near to the window, to smell that earthy scent, petrichor. In one of my hand, there is a book and in the other one a cup of hot tea.

Never forget.

néha elgondolkodom azon mit érezhetsz mikor hallod a nevem.
mikor látsz rólam egy képet.
mikor valaki megemlít neked, próbálod e elterelni a szót.

Hagyni magad szeretni sokkal nehezebb.

be careful with how much you tolerate. you are teaching them how to treat you
