"All this talk about couples and romance reminds me of a wonderful puzzle. Why don’t you give it a go?"

"In this photograph, there are three couples. No man stands directly above his spouse. Of the three women, two are sisters and are sitting next to each other. The elder sister’s husband does not have a mustache, and the younger sister’s husband is not wearing a hat. The woman unrelated to the other two sits in front of the husband of the younger sister."

"Now, which of the men in the photograph is married to neither sister?"

"Hm... Lady D and Lady E would have to be the sisters. So, following the logic of the puzzle, Lady D is married to Sir C, Lady E is married to Sir A, and Lady F is married to Sir B. So the answer is B. Right?"

"Fine, you know what, here." Digging in his pockets he produced an injection gun, shoving it into Akane’s hands. "The scientists gave me that and as far as I know it’s only one use per day. Have fun with whatever your fucking ‘job’ is."

His words hit harder than he could ever imagine.

"It isn't a game this time, Sigma! He's the one person I--! I don't even know how he got it and I just--!!"

Her words cut off as her own hand dug into one side of her face, the move meant to shut herself up as much as it was to stem the tears that were threatening to well in her eyes. She let out a shaky breath before she spoke again, her voice eerily calm. She still faced him, but didn't dare to look Sigma in the eye.

"You'll have it back when I'm done."

"It’s a fucking medical tool Akane it’s used for a lot of things. Unless you plan on operating on someone I can’t fathom an answer to that at the moment."

"I need an anesthetic because I have a job to do! I am on a time limit and I don't need to be stalled here! That should be more than enough information, so will you help me or do I need to move on?!"
