i cry every time i remember that peach lost both her parents at a young age ( her mother when she was still a little toddler ) and was literally forced to grow up before the age of seven because the second she reached of aged ( 18 ), she was to have her coronation straight away and take on the role of a Queen ( she kept the title of Princess because not only does she find it far cuter and suiting to her personality but, insists that she is more than capable of demanding the same respect of a Queen with just her presence alone and not based on the title that comes before her name ).
her life was dedicated to studies and preparing to take on this huge responsibility. she never had any childhood friends or a love life, despite the longing for them. several suitors from different kingdoms would travel to her kingdom to claim her hand in marriage ( each picked out by the council of her kingdom ) but each turned down, much to her council’s dismay. she believes in love and would much rather be in love with the man she chooses to marry though knows a desire such as that is simply wishful thinking because of her restricted situation.
as for friends; peach only met Mario, Luigi, and Daisy much later on in her life and still has much to learn. she is like a caged bird. even now, the council of her kingdom treats her as such. because her father had given the council power before his death, knowing peach was still too young to handle it all on her own, she doesn’t always have much of a say in certain things.
she is even prohibited to fall in love with anyone who is not of royal blood.
