The man looked fairly confused, which admittedly didn’t surprise Celia all that much. It was incredibly out there for her to approach him like this, particularly since she and DeSoto were…figuring things out. Or taking things a day at a time. But she couldn’t help but want to do something nice for him. Maybe if she did she might tempt him to spend more time with her.
Not that Celia was sure that it was the best move. But DeSoto made her forget about her reasoning and keeping things rational. He got her out of the head which she had a difficult time with on her own. Considering the way her curse worked and her life had been it made sense. But now that she knew someone who could bring her out of that…well she couldn’t help but want to keep him around if she could.
“I know. I realize it is incredibly out there. But if it helps, I am willing to pay you for the knowledge if need be.” She wasn’t sure if that would be more convincing, but Celia was determined. If she couldn’t learn from Roscoe she’d find someone else out there to teach her. It would be a way to occupy her time instead of just thinking about how nice it was to kiss DeSoto. Even though…well it certainly had been nice. Distractingly so. “He might not even appreciate the thought, but since we last met I…” her cheeks flushed slightly, shrugging her shoulders and looked down at her hands. “I figured it was a way I could do something.”
For a moment; Roscoe wasn’t sure that he trusted it. Wasn’t sure that he trusted the idea that this woman had turned around and come back for his brother after his brother had apparently been pretty confident that there was nothing between them and that it was over and done with. Nothing but remnants of that dream once lived. Was there a reason Celia - that was her name, he recalled - that she wanted to do this for Desi? Was there a reason other than a relationship that made her want to be close to him? What did she have to gain?
Then again... he wondered if DeSoto had these same thoughts about him and Rita. If that’s why he’d hated her so much.
“I see.” Was all the man said at first, observing the woman with a critical eye before he sighed lightly. “I ain’t worried about money. Besides it ain’t the knowledge that’s worth nothin’ it’s the time.” He muttered with a roll of his eyes, but the annoyance wasn’t at her but his current predicament.
“I don’t know what’s going on with yous two and I can’t guarantee how long I’ll ever be able t’help yous out but...” He trailed off, looking back up to the woman with a short roll of his shoulders. “If yous can deal - I guess I can probably teach yous how to make shit he actually likes.”
