Beg the Raven is a one day, pop-up studio sale at 56 Bogart, Brooklyn (L train to Morgan Avenue, in Bushwick). Each artist will present a number of works including paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs and artist books - all at a range of affordable prices less than $100.

#NoDAPL - Fall 2016 Fundraiser Via Flickr: madelife and 350 Colorado will be hosting a Live Art and Music Event to benefit the Sacred Stone Camp in their fight against the Dakota Access Oil Pipeline and the ongoing resistance efforts against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Winter is coming. And we want to do everything we can in order to provide provisions for the members of the camp to stay safe and comfortable while they fight the good fight. So come and join us at madelife on October 20th for a night of artistic creation, musical performances, and an auction of exclusive contemporary art from creators such as Melanie Yazzie, Taylor Elyse Compton, Tracey Bergrud, Rod Velarde, Regan Rosburg, Madeline Tonzi, Sherry Hart, and more! This is an awesome opportunity to come and provide support for one of the most important causes in the contemporary moment and have a amazingly fun evening in the process. Performances by Banshee Tree, Low Viscosity, and Silent Bear. Beer provided by Finkel & Garf. $10 – $100 entrance donation // includes a raffle ticket for a Special Gift Box of items. We also ask that guests consult the Sacred Stone Donation List to find a set of much needed supplies the camp has requested. All proceeds will go directly to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to aid in their ongoing efforts.

Chris Blume, Solo Show Fall 2016

“Our demise to be, we’re not listening”

This exhibition embodies the dual nature of Blume’s personal mythologies by displaying works in which he explores his existence as an adopted child through pseudo histories and dystopian futures, and those that illustrate subconscious approaches to sociopolitical commentary through retro-futuristic war technologies.

Chris Blume is an artist and printmaker originally from the Chicagoland area. He received his MFA in printmaking from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2015 and currently resides in Colorado. He is a co-founder and co-owner of Flatiron Press in Boulder, Colorado. He is also a full time screen printer in textiles and garments.

Anders’ illustrations are Beautiful Dark and Spooky  . By removing facial features like the eyes or giving his subjects a veil to cover up their body Anders gives the works a sense of mystery and darkness, the amazing detail and strong contrast gives the pieces their unique appeal.
