Tbh Raine probably plays a mean kazoo.
i feel so bad for lucas. he's made his intentions clear by joining the basketball team from the start. him, mike and dustin all said they wanted high school to be different and he's sticking by what they said. he just wants him and the gang to stop being bullied because they're outcasts... like he's not even doing it for himself; he's doing it for everyone.
then lucas said that mike and dustin coming to his big game was really important to him and yet they chose a campaign over him. he saw them exiting the hellfire club looking like they had an amazing time without him, like they didn't even care that he was there or not. he had no one - not a single person - come to support him. lucas' ambition and efforts to experience a better life is lowkey being punished by his friends.
he's also trying his best with max. he's being so concerned, gentle and understanding with her even though she's evidently been brushing him off for months. he won't give up on her. he offers her the ticket, sees her suffering and expresses his worries but doesn't get angry and push her. he's so patient and understanding.
lucas is trying his damn best. he's so underappreciated by his friends. he's trying to better himself whilst helping all of them and he deserves better.
Grandmas were so right about puzzles and knitting and crocheting and solitaire and reading slow and slippers and baking and watching deer in the backyard send post
“Why do you guys say that, anyway? No mourners, no funerals? Why not just say good luck or be safe?” “We like to keep our expectations low.”
Goth Choatic academia things I do - part 3
- constructing a mental breakdown blanket fort every exam season
- Being 5 weeks ahead in one course and 5 weeks behind in another
- having a playlist specifically for visiting art museums
- can locate most major constellations but only by finding Orion first.
-guessing my professors zodiac signs based on their teaching style
- I collect grandpa sweaters like goddamm pokemon cards
-only learned the Greek pronunciations of names in Greek mythology so whenever I talk to someone about mythology it ends in an argument.
-wearing vintage scarfs in my hair to keep it out off my face
-forgetting to wash the paint off of my hands and looking like a lunatic during my morning lectures. I suppose that's what I get for painting at 4 in the morning.

Dark Academia Aesthetic for Tired Graduate Teaching Assistants
-The same thrifted cashmere turtleneck tucked into the same pair of pleated wool trousers, repeated every week ad infinitum
-Your fourth cup of tea from the faculty lounge (coffee bothers your stomach.)
-office hours with passionate students to whom you can lend your favorite books (knowing full well you will never have those books returned.)
-The leather messenger bag you’ve used since undergrad, well-seasoned.
-Procrastinating your actual research with research on other esoteric topics you love, such as medieval mystics, astronomy, or the art of violin making.
-scribbling lines of poetry into your notebook during department meetings.
-staying late at the local bar with your peers to discuss pedagogy.
-”You didn’t fulfill the assignment requirements, but this essay was insightful, thought-provoking, & well-researched. I enjoyed it immensely. A+.”
-Fellow grad students passing around a photocopy of photocopy of an obscure work of literature so no one has to buy it. Reading annotations from previous copy owners scribbled in the margins. Adding your own comments in conversation.
-Selling your used books to the local independent bookstore for credit to buy more used books.
-Stopping by your advisor’s office to ask a quick question, staying for an hour to talk philosophy.
-Old wool coat, old wool scarf, old wool hat. Old leather shoes.
-warm photocopies in your hands on a cool autumn day as you walk to class.
Things are scary.
Maybe you need a soft and gently purring Fancy making big big mashy paws in the air to help you out!

They always have been. Contrary to the image some hold of them, librarians have long been powerful activists against censorship and for the freedom to read. As well as providing an a whole array of amazing services.
For all the librarians out there.
