what absolute madmen
y’all (all three of you lol)
i am emotionally so drained that i am just physically tired. there are moments of inspiration and suddenly i’m energized, but i think i should actually cry my soul out to actually.. let it out.
i am anxious of meeting people because i just don’t know anyone here. well, truth be told, i know 3 people. none of them i call my friends. they’re lovely, nice people but it’s just .. so hard. i miss my alex. and i miss talking to my friends face to face and tell them about what’s going on.
on sunday, two of the three people that i know will go to sixflags (?) which is a rollercoaster park. rly excited. get that adrenaline. yee. and in the evening i’ll go to a Yi, Breathe & Relax yoga session. oh, i do a lot of yoga by the way. a good thing about LA. i have had the nicest yoga lessons of my LIFE here so far. super stoked about this.
mixed feelings and thoughts. mostly my good ol depression is taking over. making me lazy and unable to move from my couch. but i DID bring out the trash today lol. i shall take a shower. maybe i’ll feel better. but then i can’t be bothered.
i’m a mess but hey school starts next week!! i see a light!! i just want my alex here
problems with congratulating people on weight loss
it might have been due to stress, depression or other non-celebratory factors
it might have been due to an eating disorder. congratulating people with eating disorders on weight loss is like adding petrol to a fire and you can’t tell who’s got one by looking
it might have been due to financial constraints
it reiterates patriarchal standards of beauty, esp. when commenting on a girl’s body. it also suggests a certain amount of public ownership of one’s body
not everyone considers weight loss an achievement or goal
body comments can make the subject feel awkward regardless of positivity of comment
weight loss is not inherently a good thing even if the person losing weight is ‘overweight’ or ‘obese’ (quotation marks are due to the total arbitrary nature of bmi calculations)
a friend of the family had cancer. he has lost like 30 kilos during his treatment. people said “you look good though!” all the time, while he just responded “i throw up all the time. i have cancer. i’m dying.”
he passed away, by the way.
This!
I hope you are having fun in LA you’re so brave I find the US SO SCARY RN
i know the US is a fucking mess. it’s terrifying. yesterday i received a message from a german acquaintance and she said “I envy you a bit. I LOVE the US. I think they do a lot of things better than us” uhhh.. WHAT exactly??
but i like the people in LA, they all have a nice sense of humour and are very friendly and the sushi is fantastic and schools starts in 10 days!
I like how the only reason Harry is able to fight the imperious curse so easily is because it hits him and he’s like “Ah I feel calm and relaxed and happy…this is wrong.”
Millennial culture is having two wildly different conversations with the same person on two different apps at the exact same time
conversation 1: cheese borger
conversation 2: that’s why I think I’m so afraid of making myself vulnerable, because my father taught me I couldn’t ever truly trust anyone
I want to be this much of a bad ass when I’m 77 years old:
“I’m 77-and-a-half years old and I hate the destruction of democracy in this province,” this woman says while being escorted out by two security guards.”

Her name is Ester Reiter:
“Ester Reiter lived through discrimination as a Jew in Cold War America, marched to protest the Vietnam War with two babies in tow, and visited a mass grave in a southern Poland forest where her grandparents, aunts and uncles were likely murdered in the Holocaust.
When she woke up on Wednesday morning, the 77-year-old didn’t hesitate to stand up for what she says is another great injustice — the Ontario government passing legislation that a judge ruled violates the Constitution.
[…]
“How I honour my identity as a Jew is to get my ass out and protect everybody, to protect the rights and freedoms of everybody and really try to struggle against any injustice,” she said.”
‘You can’t let them get away with these dirty deeds,’ says protester removed from Queen’s Park Wednesday
while there are foreign criminal or sexual offenders in our country, some of them who are from the middle east, and i whole heartedly agree that justice needs to be done, it is nothing but racism AND what nazi germany did to blame the entire origin. obviously, this is to be applied for lgbt+ community.
i can’t believe that i also have to mentiont this: there are GERMAN (or depending on where you live) WHITE criminals. however there’s absolutely no focus on them, no matter which crime has been committed.
and i am tired of this injustice. i am tired of the white man getting away with everything. i am tired of people blaming whole nations for one single crime that has been committed. it makes no sense.
the east of germany has peaked in terms of nazism, racism and xenophobia. today bands, including my dad’s, are playing a small, free, festival as a response and a demonstration AGAINST the brutality. i wish i was there. what’s been happening is absolutely heartbreaking and infuriating. i have no words.
but i am so proud to know so many people who are travelling to chemnitz. i am so proud of the artists who raise their voices. i am so proud of every single one who used the hashtag #wirsindmehr
we live in terrifying times, guys. this includes trump. keep talking. keep on raising your voice for the voiceless. hold up those signs. speak your mind. think freely. use the rights that you have to help the ones who don’t have the same privileges.
