"Well, I’m clueless when it comes to gifts." He nodded. Gavin liked to go all out when it came to Christmas, he would buy jewelry or make bracelets being creative making one of a kind type bracelets. "But….what kind of stuff do you like…?" Gavin looked over at her. "Anything you want in particular for Christmas?"

She shook her head "I'm not really fussed. I appriciate any gift", she replied to him and thought for a moment before saying "I like anything considerd cute or adorable. What about you, what do you want?"

Gavin looked away as he began his story. “I was in the wrong crowd.” He breathed slowly, “I tried to rob a gas station with a rubber gun…water gun. Got shot by a shot gun in the chest. Woke up in a coffin, had to get myself out. Next thing I knew…I got hit by a truck, died again…and woke up.” Slowly he looked over at her. “Some life…huh. I’m uh…I guess I’m your secret Santa.”

"Yes, some life." she agreed looking at the ground. "Yeah, and I'm sorry. I'm terrible at buying gifts" she smiled sheepishly. Rose loved to buy presents or people even if she was terrible at it.

She nodded in agreement as she looked one over carefully then moved onto the next tree, “And we can use the lights in our dorm even when Christmas is over,”

"Yes, it should make the room pretter and brighter", she agreed, looking at the tree closest.

"Oh, star," Riley wrinkled up her nose as they walked into the tree lot, "I’ve never been a fan of angels. Besides, we could get a blue and silver star and it’ll look perfect," she began to pace around the smaller trees on the lot.

"They are more Christmassy." she smiled and looked at the trees. She then went on to say "And if you think about it blue and silver is more Winter."

Riley tilted her head from side to side as she considered it. “Only if that’s what you want too. I’m fine with whatever,” If she was being totally honest with herself, she didn’t care about a Christmas tree. However, she got the feeling that Rose was the kind of person who did so this was mostly for the other girl. “What kind of decorations do you want?”

Rose thought for a second and tried to remember the decorations she had back home. "Baubles, tinsel and lights. But I'm not sure on whether to get a angel or star. What do you think?"

"If that’s what you’d like," Riley shrugged, "Personally, my favorite colors are, like, light purples and blues but neither of those are Christmas colors so it doesn’t feel right. Although, I like white lights best. What do you think?"

"We could have blue decorations. I once had a friend whose tree was that colour."She smiled, "White lights are great and we have to get tinsel. Maybe silver to match the blue if you'd like."

He smiled, “Sorry…I didn’t expect someone I knew to have my ability…it’s cool.” Nodding he stood there when he was asked her question, “Um…bond or something…survival skills or some shit…team work?…I have no idea…actually.” He chuckled and looked over at her. “How’d you find out you were….immortal?”

She thought back to those early days and replied "I was at a party and a fight broke out. I tried to break it and one of the guys stabbed me. I woke up a few weeks later in a coffin. I then drowned myself for a test. That's when I knew for sure" she smiled nervously before saying "What about you?"

Bond over immortality?…Gavin couldn’t say no, knowing that someone like him has the exact same ability. Questioning how long the person can actually stay dead and come back or if the person can heal fully after coming back to life.

Walking into the courtyard, he looked around unsure if the person was male or female just to meet here. Seeing a girl from the distance he noticed her before but he rarely talked to her before. Walking closer to her, he kept his distance. “Um…Rose?…You’re immortal?”

"Yeah!" she replied to him smiling slightly. Rose didn't really understand why people were suprised to find out she was immortal. She knew she didn't have the mysterious look people expected.

Dismissing those thoughts she asked, laughing slightly "So do you have an idea on what we are supposed to do?"

Riley laughed a little, “Thanks. I think that’s what we should call ourselves,” She looked around at the buildings as they walked, still drawling on, “I was thinking we should get one small enough to stand on our table but big enough to decorate with lights and everything,”

Rose grinned and said "And the Rosley Dorm will have the best tree." She pictured the finished tree after the decorations before asing "Will we have the typical red and green decorations?"

"Guess everyone is clearing out to go home," Riley shrugged. It really didn’t matter to her. "Well, off we go then to find the perfect," she thought for a moment, "Rosley Dorm Christmas Tree!" With that, she began to walk onto the main path that lead winded through the entirety of campus and, eventually, into town.

"I bet that we will find the cutest little tree" she smiled and walked alongside Riley. She loved looking for Christmas trees and decorating them, it was what made Christmas in her opinion. "I like that, the Rosley Dorm Christmas Tree."

Rose hummed to herself as she waited for Gavin to arrive. The arrangement didn't say much except to meet outside the dorms so they could pretty much bond over their 'immortality' and set up a friendship. She was all for that, it would be good for her to have a friend she didn't have to watch grow old. A friend who would understand.

She looked around the courtyard and tried to spot the boy. Stuffing her hands in her coat pockets she tried to ignore the butterflies. Ever since she found out there was an other immortal she wanted nothing more to meet them. It wasn't everyday that she had the chance to talk to somebody like herself.

Tucking a curl behind her ear she started humming again and tried to look for Gavin. She was going to bring some sort of sign but her rational side refused. That would have been far too silly and her hair made her recognisable to anybody.

Riley leaned against one of the walls of the courtyard. It was so hard to see with all the people and Rose was a little thing too. Eventually, she did see a waving hand and Riley smiled, waving back as she walked over. “I thought I was going to miss you,” she said with a small smile, “Got everything, right?”

Rose smiled at Riley's words and replied "I thought so too. I mean I didn't think it would be this crowded."At the other girl's words she checked her bag before looking up and saying "Yep!"

After bundling herself up and grabbing her purse, Riley made her way to the dorm courtyard. She knew she hadn’t been the best roommate. She was constantly out late, staying in other people’s dorms, and usually slept in as late as she could. That’s not even mentioning her mess of cosmetics on her side of the bathroom sink. However, Rose was such a sweet girl and the usually callous Riley felt bad. So, today, she would make it up to her by finding the cutest little tree for their room.

Rose arrived at the courtyard and searched for her roommate. As usual the yard was crowded and made her task more difficult. She was happy that Riley had asked to help her find a tree, she wanted to get to know her more. She like having her as a roommate as hard as it was to believe even if she did have some faults. But nobody was perfect. Rose grinned as she spotted Riley and raised her hand in a wave.
