"Rose-" the Captain leaned down and placed a familiar kiss on the girl's lips. "Merry Christmas darlin'."
The quirk of her eyebrow and the small grin that followed were Rose's subtle reactions. "Merry Christmas, Captain." The girl replied, her expression bright as she fought to quell the slightest telltale signs of a blush.

Christmas Mistletoe.
Reblog and see who leaves you a kiss in your ask box.Â
"Merry Christmas, Bennet." Rose adjusted the shawl around her shoulders as it floated against the sharp winter's breeze, a smile flickering across her face. Her tone was light, but her eyes held a dimmed brightness, well hidden by her expression.
The sergeant takes a moment to brace himself; to fend off the chill in the air before giving her a slight nod and subtle smile. âSame to you, Rose.â After a beat he sighs out quietly, shivering despite his best efforts. âShouldnât you be somewhere warm, making Merry, girl?â
"I could very well say the same to you." Her tone was gentle as she raised an eyebrow, "I was on my way to Tenter Street. Wishinâ everyone well there, of course." Rose smiled meekly, "Forgive me, Bennet, but should you not yourself be at home?" The girl had studied the manâs stance with concern, but kept any thoughts to herself. With an apologetic air to her words, she added - "I wouldâve brought a gift if iâd known I would come across you, with it beinâ traditions anâ all."
He was selective then about the questions he answered; home wasnât somewhere he was so eager to be, but she didnât need to know. He looked down for a moment, watching the light against his clouds of breath in the cold. âGlad tidings is a gift enough. Miss Susan will be glad to have them, I should think.â If he had decided to walk along with her, he should have thought of something else to say, perhaps have asked if she wanted his company; a simple 'If you'd like, I couldâŚ'. He bit his tongue then, mouth falling closed with a shake of his head. âOn with you, girl. Best not to be wandering after nightfall.â
After a moment of tense silence, Rose's head dipped a little - part in an attempt to cover up any disappointment in her expression. Rolling her shoulders back to compose herself once more, the girl nodded. "Yes, of course." She inclined her head towards him as she fiddled with the end of her shawl, a tired smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
All you can do is bring witness. One manâs word against another. And words are unreliable signifiers of the truth. Your world will advance. I am certain that men like yourself will make sure of it. I will have returned to London clay before that day dawns. Till then, you are a child. And I am a man of old stone.

đWishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year. ( made even happier with some new Ripper Street)
(( Yes, merry Christmas to everyone :) ))
Show some love: help save Ripper Street.
"Itâs a wonder how a series as witty, entertaining and poignant could be ripped so brutally from our television schedules. Until somebody sees sense and commissions a third series, we doff our bowlers to everyone involved."
//I also want a RoseâŚ.and a Duggan, because angst.
(( Iâm considering setting up a Rose⌠:3 Just need to sort out this blog and find the time to dedicate to creating another character. Maybe after Christmas⌠))
SUSAN NEEDS A ROSE. I almost made a Daniel Judge XD.Â
(( And now she has one :P ))
