The Powers know V1 and Gabriel fought and they know Gabriel went rogue and publicly executed the government, so they assume (correctly) that the latter is V1's fault, but the way they say it makes it seem like they think machines are endowed with some kind of corruptive sorcery when the reality is just that V1ussy hits different. The first one doesn't even give V1 the opportunity to answer before attacking. Gabe is chilling down in Treachery like "I can't wait to do erotic violence with the machine one last time" and his flock of angelic ducklings are desperately trying to stop their dad from getting laid (out)
