honestly if the game was written better and had more episodes to flesh out the characters, we'd see that he's such a deep character under the surface. i really wish season 2 was longer OR we got a season 3 so we could see his redemption, because he genuinely seems like he would be a really nice person as a human, looking at his dialogue. it's too bad mojang ain't doing anything to revive it:/

Really should not have been voiced by JB Blanc entirely because that’s all i’m going to be thinking about when I go back to playing ESO and join the Mages’ Guild.

Honestly now I'm really tempted to actually get into mcsm but not because of your og response but because of this wild discussion my ask sparked lmao. Like damn this debate y'all are having is a better ad for the thing than any fan's positive words could ever be.

Also the fact that someone chose to give a villain the name Romeo keeps hitting me like a bag of bricks. Not in a bad way, it's just very unconventional? Romeo is usually used for sentimental characters and romantic leads, for obvious reasons. Villains usually get some nomen omens or wildly ironic names that are supposed to foreshadow that they're actually villains (Eg. a fucked up guy with the surname Good, or a tyrannical overlord named Hope.) So like this is doing something to me.

Funnily enough all the fanart also seems to depict him with the same exact design one of my fav characters from a different franchise has, and that's also doing something to me. That character is also a villain and has a name beginning with R so like what's up with that? Do people just wake up and think "I must make a little fucked up R-named man with red/ginger somewhat long hair and a goatee and if I don't make this man I will die"?

I love talking about MCSM's Romeo: a complex character and an entertaining villain!

His name may be Romeo, but a sensitive romantic he is not. Plus, he's the sort of individual who would totally be a bad influence on people, telling them to go apeshit instead of resolving their problems with words. Lol
