I've never set anyone up on a date before.
I love you too, babe. Yeah I did, donât worry.
Okay, good. How do you think the date's going?
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
But you love me. Mhm, it is.
Yes, yes I do. Did you pause the movie?
Hey, I Just Met You || Sophia&Joss
Sophia raised an eyebrow. ââAll these yearsâ?â She asked curiously, looking at Joss. âHow long have you been single for?â She couldnât help but find it surprising that Joss has been single for what she made seem like a while. âThat actually sounds pretty cute,â she told her, then took a sip of her water. âYeah⌠I make no promises on the whole bodily harm thing, but thanks,â she blushed at Jossâ indirect compliment, shaking her head slightly. âYouâll find I have many faults, itâs what makes me so charming,â she joked with a light laugh. It was easy to joke around and make small talk with Joss, it didnât feel forced or uncomfortable which she was really enjoying so far. She laughed at Jossâ analogy for Callie. âI canât believe you just said that. But sheâs definitely⌠something,â she agreed. âShe and Callie are pretty smitten and Callieâs already made her fair share of mistakes, I think sheâs learned from them. But Iâll do my best to keep her in check, Rose means a lot to me too.â She smiled brightly at Joss.
âI know I havenât seen you act, but I have no doubt that Iâll be impressed when I do,â she told her with a nod. âYou should stop flattering me so much, Iâm going to get a big head,â she told her jokingly. Getting a big head was the last thing sheâd ever do. âI have a really old video of me singing Skyscraper by Demi Lovato when I was about⌠thirteen?â She shrugged, not really remembering the exact age she was when she had put up that video. It had gotten a pretty good response though, which was a pleasant surprise to her. She chuckled as Joss answered her question about music and leaned on her elbows. âI love Florence and the Machine. I love Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding and Demi Lovato too. I love a lot of people I guess and I can appreciate pretty much any genre.â She replied, smiling and thanking the waiter when he returned with the sweet potato fries. âI love sweet potato fries. And food in general,â she said with a grin.
"I've been single for... A while, I guess. Quite a while, which I didn't mind, but sometimes I just kinda want someone around for things, someone that's mine... Cheesy, I know, but I definitely do want it sometimes." Joss admits with a little smile on her face. There's every chance that this can still go horribly wrong, but she's okay with being blindly optimistic. "I can be cute." She shrugs and chuckles at Sophia's response to the bodily harm thing. "Maybe we'll just have to wrap you in bubble wrap to keep you safe." She wiggles her eyebrows and laughs. She shrugs, looking away for a moment with a little smile. "I have a habit of shocking people into liking me, is it working?" She raises an eyebrow, but can only hold it for a moment and scrunches her nose in laughter. "I trust that Callie won't let her down, considering that they've managed to stay together for a while, but I always have my worries y'know?" She giggled. "You realise you just told me to stop complimenting you after you just complimented me?"Â
She raises her eyebrows at the mention of a video of her singing at thirteen. "How many years ago was that?" She asks, curious. She'd have to go looking for it after the date. "That's really cool though." She grinned and twirled a bit of her hair, although she knew it may look a little bit too girly and cutesy. At the answer of her favourite music, Joss nods, completely understanding her. "I love listening to anything, I love singing anything, God, I even love rapping." She chuckles and moves back a bit when the food is brought by the waiter. "I have to admit I haven't had them in years, or at least I think it's been years, or I've had them before, I think." She chuckles. "But I love food too, and I like cooking, it's something I bond with Callie over." She reaches out a hand to take one, giving Sophia a little smile. She doesn't usually like eating much in front of people, especially not those she's on a date with, but with Sophia she's just comfortable.Â
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
What?
You're ridiculous. And this food is good.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
Food is pretty amazing, but I love you more and Iâd rather eat you than food⌠and you know, not in the cannibalism way.
Oh my god.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
Oh come on babe, donât be mad. You know I love kissing you. Among other things.
When you say among other things are you talking about the fact you like food as much as you like me?
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
What? Food is important.
Obviously more so than kissing your girlfriend. Give me the damn food.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
Mhm. Was that the doorbell? I should go get it.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
You love me.
Very, very much.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
Just shut up and kiss me.
Meanie.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
Now you know exactly what youâre doing.
Hm?
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
MhmâŚ. Iâm not looking at you like anything. Okay. My body is ready.
You know exactly what you're doing, Callie. Come 'ere.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
Oh yeah? So are you a really a bad girl then? Yay! We should have a mini marathon then. Okay, foodâs on the way. Iâll grab the blanket.
No. Maybe. I don't know. Stop looking at me like that. I'll grab the second one as well then. Awesome. Prepare to get cuddled.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
You make me dorkier. Yeah, Iâm pretty sure we do. But if not we could always just watch it on my Netflix account. Meet you in the living room in ten.
I bring out the real you, obviously. Just like how you make good girls go bad. Nope, we have it, like I said, it was next to The Princess Diaries 2. Bring a blanket! You know the nice one we bought like, a month ago.
Hey, I Just Met You || Sophia&Joss
Sophia grinned. âAn occasionally half-priced bagel, huh? You really know how to make a girl feel special, donât you?â She chuckled, shaking her head as Joss winked at her. âDo I get a smiley face beside my name on my cup too?â She asked, then raised an eyebrow at Jossâ comment about her being a cop. âFirst of all, Iâm too clumsy and accident-prone to ever be a cop and second of all, hopefully weâd still be talking in âhowever many yearsâ timeâ. I mean even if we donât get⌠involved romantically, you seem pretty cool so far and Iâd still want to be friends with you,â she told her honestly. âBut you have a deal- if you turn out to be right, Iâll definitely buy you a drink, or something,â she told her and crinkled her nose. Truth be told, sheâd probably be willing to buy Joss a drink anytime (once she was legal), seeing as the date was going pretty well so far. She nodded in agreement as Joss answered her question about whether or not she liked Callie. âCallieâs definitely⌠something. They do make a good couple, Iâm happy for them.â She laughed a little. âYeah, I know what you mean.â She agreed. When she noticed Joss blushing, she couldnât help but smile as a feeling that resembled accomplishment filled her.
She nodded as Joss explained. âIâm sure youâre a great actress, youâll get your big break,â she told her and shrugged. âOh no I wonât give up, Iâm just trying to be realistic about it, you know? The music industryâs pretty hard to get into.â She said, then gave her a small smile. âWell maybe if you play your cards right youâll get to hear me sing soon,â she told her with a wink. âHmm okay,â she agreed. She glanced briefly at her hand when she set it on the table, wondering if she was hinting for her to hold her hand or if she should regardless. She bit her lip, deciding against it as she closed the menu. When the waiter came back, she ordered some sweet potato fries for them and returned the menu. âSo what kind of music do you like to listen to?â
"Oh yeah, it's the reason I've been single all these years, people just can't handle how great I treat them, half-priced bagels, sometimes I make mini movies of the people I like and post them on Instagram, y'know, the usual." Joss winks, half kidding. She's done it before. Nodding at Sophia's explanation of being clumsy and accident prone, she chuckles. "As long as I don't endure bodily harm from you being accident prone, I don't mind so much if you are. Besides, you have to have some faults, don't you?" She giggles at the kind of indirect compliment she gives. "I'll hold you to that." She tells her, crossing her ankles again and really feeling comfortable around the girl. It wasn't like they'd known each other for years, like she thought she needed. It was nice to just... Discover someone bit by bit. So far, Joss liked what she'd found out about Sophia, and she assumed this would only continue. "Callie's the type of person who grows on you, kinda like a rash.. But more favourable." She giggled, confused at her own choice of words. "She just better treat Rosemary right or I'll totally kick her butt." Joss was half kidding.
"You say that without even seeing me act too, it's nice to have that kind of faith from someone I really just met." She doesn't add that her parents don't even believe in her that much. "Well I guess when I eventually hear you sing, I'll know whether or not you'd probably be the type to make it, but everyone likes people like you, someone they can relate to who's pretty. Do you post stuff on youtube or whatever?" She asks, genuinely curious. She watches as Sophia orders and shrugs at her question about music. "Uh, anything really, like.. I could go from something really intense, like.. Florence and The Machine and then two seconds later be listening to Snoop Dogg, I have the weirdest taste in music, what about you?" She brings her other hand up to the table, leaning on her elbows. She was the epitome of a girl with table manners, really.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
Sure you were. Oh, shush. You love it. Hmmm, how about Princess Diaries? And Chinese food is always a good choice. Iâll go order some to get delivered to us.
I do, I don't deny that, but you're still a dork. Princess Diaries, huh? We have that on DVD somewhere don't we? I distinctly remember one of us having it. I'll check the cupboard. Okay, good.
I've never set anyone up on a date before.
A little, but I mean you were the one who invited me to your room to âdistractâ you, so⌠And yes, I did. I make them good girls go bad. Iâm still with you for a lot of reasons, but those are two of them, yes. I love you too.
I was very confused at that point, and you can't blame me! I was in a house full of pretty girls. I can't believe you just said that, you're such a dork. So, Superman, what movie do you wanna watch? I think I want Chinese food.
