      he shifted from one foot to the other, features pensive as he mauled over on what they could do. Spike was feeling restless, that need to ‘ go go go ! ’ taking over as it did from time to time. warm nights and even hotter days.  wanting to do anything besides wade around in stagnant summer heat.   brown eyes peered over in Julia’s direction, taking in the way sunlight caught her honey golden hair, bright and enrapturing, it was hard to pull the gaze way. a thoughtful sighed escaped him,  lips pursed before asking,     “    how about we get some ice cream?  i’ll pay. ”

SHE DID HER BEST NOT to giggle. going out for icecream - wasn’t that something you did as high school students for the first date? smile creeping up on her face, julia tried to hide the curve of her lips with the glass. last thing she wanted to do was seem condescending, but there was something sweet hidden in his words. there was an intimacy to be found in something so simple: just what was he trying to get at?
