I FRICKIN FINISHED IT.
It's DONE.
DONE.
Book 4 is published!
I stood in front of the fortress,
So harsh and heavy and tall does it stand
It was mine in another life
Though stupidly, i cannot explain why.
Who follows this madness?
Rapunzel askes from behind,
Shockingly, I am quite inclined to agree.
This is mine, and so begins my climb
But you misunderstand,
I am not claiming what might not turn out to be mine
I will climb these towering walls
And slip into this wonderful fortress mine, yes
But if in this second,
I see another head peeking out from those high windows,
Or if it bears another's semblance
On its gleaming nameplate
I will pack my gear and run away,
Running away from something that was not meant to be mine
What is mine shall find me,
And what is not mine shall leave,
If not, then kicked out rather harshly.
The abject terror, the horror, the misery that that becomes of me when hope is so easy to give up on.
But no. I have clung onto every single railing in this flailing ship.
Is it because I cannot drown anymore?
Is it because the air has finally become an empty void , that nothing, not anymore, can drag me to the bottom of the sea?
Suddenly doors were easier to close, windows easier to lock, memories easier to forget.
Life became about the room, rather than what waited beyond it.
I'm back?
This is from The Mountains We Move to Scale...
Monsters, monsters
Monsters all around me
I seem to take myself back
Into stormy seas on selfless steeds
Monsters all around me
And all I seem to see is the sea
Darling, darling,
Set me free
This nightmare I cannot unsee
Monsters, monsters, monsters all around me
I thrash onto these stone walls imprisoning me
Oh, land is forgiving
But it has castles and fortresses I hadn't seen so much of before
And those have dungeons
Like what I am trapped in now
“Darling, darling, free me
FREE ME”
I cannot help but scream
My fists are pounding onto very solid stone
And nothing is ever hurt
Expect my bleeding hands
Leaving trails across the walls…
Even the ground so rough will become smooth when water covers its wounds.
It never means they were never there.
Nobody can ever say I wasn’t dramatic lol.
Can someone give their beta read opinion on this
AUTHOR’S NOTE
Before you begin to read this book, I feel it is my duty to explain that this would not be an easy read. You are welcome to stay, and understood if you choose to not.
I reread this book after I completed writing it, and it significantly changed my perception of it. This is a continuation of the series, The Scribbled Pages of an Elaborate Controversy, the fourth book to be exact, and it is unlike all the others.
For starters, it was written in only a couple months. Thus, you may infer that the pacing is much faster than the others, with which I had ample time to sit through and deliver to you.
I am entirely aware that it is intense, complicated, sometimes unnecessarily so, to the extent of being much ado about nothing, but to remove such parts would fundamentally compromise the authenticity of the work. So I haven’t.
What it does present you is a very raw and honest systemic interaction that is somehow, to me profoundly beautiful. Accidental coherence veiled enough that it is both right in front of your eyes, but also vague enough that you can experience the joy of discovery.
Pace yourselves, may the questors in you make your own maps, and I hope that you find a possible reference in mine.
Birthdays are wonderful days to spend alone.
Away from the world.
Nobody to cater to.
Just me.
I'm an artist.
I drew you.
I drew you.
I drew you.
Out of so many others.
And then regret came by,
A while after you stabbed my back and left.
Slapping me harder.
