WIP Wed
Been a while since I've done one of these, mostly because people stopped caring about them. But. I still care about them, because they keep me accountable. Here's a snippet from my new FTH superhero fic :3
“So.” Nie Huaisang’s singsong voice came over the comms. It was the tone of voice Jiang Wanyin knew would deliver some sort of news he was not going to like. “Where are you?” “You know exactly where I am,” Jiang Wanyin muttered. Nie Huaisang knew where he was at all times, and it was creepy, but it had saved his ass too many times for him to count. “True. But I need you to not be there.” Jiang Wanyin waited for Nie Huaisang to continue. He was being more infuriatingly cryptic than usual. Nie Huaisang did not continue and Jiang Cheng did not move from the rooftop ledge. He had been watching and waiting. He was still waiting for the rival gangs below to exchange either blows or blow. It was going to be one or the other. “You’re not moving,” Nie Huaisang said. “I have a fresh body, suspect moving north at an inhuman pace, and you’re not moving.” Yeah, Jiang Wanyin knew he wasn’t going to like it.
I just googled this and… yes, it’s absolutely real.
And there are so many articles and videos and discussions. Like, the scientific community is buzzing about this.
So much research will have to be redone because the data was absolutely compromised, off by orders of magnitude, by using standard lab gloves.
The world is probably not horrifically contaminated by microplastics. Sterile laboratories, however, are contaminated by latex and nitrile gloves.
Thank God someone bothered to check.
>I just googled this and… yes, it’s absolutely real.
Sources beyond dude just trust me, for the skeptics.
Scientists may have been unknowingly inflating microplastics pollution estimates, and the surprising source could be their own lab gloves. A

the only reliable, effective way of "protecting children" is education. but people don't want to hear that because they don't actually care about protecting children, they care about protecting a mythologised ideal of innocence
this is a necessary condition for education actually
i genuinely can't fucking deal with the larger internet anymore holy shit what the fuck are you people TALKING about. i am at my limit with this stupid bullshit. who the fuck cares if a man is hired to draw medical diagrams for young girls jesus christ we're pearl clutching about medical illustrations now? next you're gonna tell me male pediatricians shouldn't advise parents on their kids' vulva issues? male surgeons shouldn't be in the room when performing a procedure where a woman's breasts or vulva might be exposed? male researchers shouldn't conduct gynecological medical research? sure. better for men to live in ignorance and NEVER ally themselves with us to expand access to sexual education and reproductive healthcare i fucking guess. Twenty thousand likes. i hate it here KILL ME
THIS is the post that got me my first ever anon hate. i'd like to thank the academy tbh
also not related but can ppl on this post being like "yeah STOP being mean to men!!" pls stop cuz that's not the point of what i was saying 💀 i'm not mad bc someone was mean to a man i'm mad bc feminism is being hijacked by bioessentialist conservative Christian moralist bullshit where the goal seems to be the complete and total segregation of women from men instead of like, the material improvement of women's lives. i don't care if some intsta commenter is mean to men i care that feminism is culturally turning into Nu Conservatism
i also just want to note when i was a lil autistic kid with a special interest in ag dolls this series (the american girl library) was the greatest thing to ever happen to my social skills. not only did they have stuff about puberty (that have since been updated to include trans friendly information!) but also books about friendship (used advice to take a respectful break from a friendship with someone i was arguing with over nothing a lot which meant when we were a bit older and realised our undiagnosed neurodivergence had been clashing we went right back to being close because we didn't have a big dramatic breakup) and tough conversations (i mentally revist the page with premade social scripts for condolences every time someone loses a pet or person or houseplant) and easy sleepover baking recipes. and i think this is ironically part of why I was so late to come out because agl presented girlhood as this totally achievable thing for everyone to learn how to do, without any makeup tutorials or telling you to be quiet and take abuse from authority.
now, im not a girl and not american anymore so im out in the big wide world without my trusty instruction manuals, but i always wanna point out how surprisingly lovely this series is because i am so so glad it exists as a resource for young people
The logical conclusion to this line of thinking is that men shouldnt even be educated on female anatomy. Furthermore, speaking as a medical professional, the idea that men present in womens healthcare endangers women is actively dangerous to both women and trans men.

Buy Queer Creations, Support Queer Causes: 2026 Story and Art Bundles for Charity!
HAPPY PRIDE! It’s time for our fourth-annual Pride Bundle charity drive! We’ve got three bundles this year: a general imprint bundle with 25 titles totaling 381 pages; an explicit bundle of 15 stories, 237 pages; and an art bundle with 10 artworks, 250 mb of digital artwork! In the first three years of this initiative, we’ve raised over $725 for the charities we’ve selected, and we’re delighted to be back, this time in an effort to raise money for the Queer Liberation Library ( @queerliblib ) and the Transgender Law Center.
The General Imprint Bundle costs $25 USD (60% off normal!). 40% of this sales price will be divided equally between the two charities.
The Explicit Imprint Bundle costs $15 USD (60% off normal!). 44% of this sales price will be divided equally between the two charities.
The Art Bundle costs $10 USD (66% off normal!). 24% of this sales price will be divided equally between the two charities.
How This Works
You buy one or both bundles between now and June 30th, 2026.
We tally up all the proceeds earned and do some math-e-magic to figure out how much we’re donating!
Before the end of July, we divide our total raised amount in half and donate equal amounts to the Queer Liberation Library and the Transgender Law Center.
We post the proof that we’ve made the donation (you can see past proof here, here, and here.)
You get fantastic stories!
We all get that happy, glowy feeling of knowing that money has been well-spent on fantastic causes!
About the Press
Duck Prints Press is a queer-owned indie press, founded to publish original works by fancreators. We’ve been in operation for over 5.5 years, and in that time we’ve worked with well over 150 creators to publish ten anthologies and over 200 other stories, from shorts to novels, and we’ve got more on the works (five anthologies in progress, multiple novels slated for the later half of 2026, an art project, and more). The vast majority of our creators and their creations are queer/LGTBQIA+ (maybe even all, but we don’t out anyone and we don’t ask demography because, frankly, it’s none of our business).
About Our Selected Charities
Note: These charities are not affiliated with the Press, do not know we’re doing this fundraiser, have not endorsed this in anyway and are, as such, utterly uninvolved in this beyond being the beneficiaries of our efforts! Text is from their webpages.
The Queer Liberation Library: “Queer Liberation Library (QLL) is fighting to build a vibrant, flourishing queer future by connecting LGBTQ+ people with literature, information, and resources that celebrate the unique and empowering diversity of our community.”
The Transgender Law Center: “Transgender Law Center is the largest national trans-led organization advocating self-determination for all people. Since 2002 we’ve been organizing, assisting, informing and empowering thousands of individual community members towards a long-term, national, trans-led movement for liberation.”

Every pride, you must reblog this. No exceptions
I love that four different people on my feed scheduled this joyous person to reblog by 8am on June 1. I look forward to seeing this a dozen more times today.
doctor who is the greatest tv show ever made
I was waiting for the punchline and it didn’t disappoint
For those who have missed it, a tourist in Hawaii decided it would be fun to chuck a rock (a BIG rock) at a monk seal. He missed, but he was captured on video, and when told it was illegal to interfere with them, said "I'm rich, I can pay the fine."
Is the best part that he got doxxed? No.
Is the best part that he got tracked down by a local and beaten? No.
Arrested on state at federal charges, looking at up to 5 years and 50K? Nope.
The best part is the local city council's reaction.
And the best part of that is the look on the attorney's face.
