This is just a fun blog for me to dump stuff of mine and enthuse about my interests, so keep stuff like politics and drama away from here. This is a very OC-focused blog, and I am heavily multi-fandom, so don’t expect to see me stick to a certain fandom.

As pale as the moon, clothed in garments as dark as the night, as enigmatic as a butterfly flying above all. The mother of three shadows and widow of the rising sun, the 13th of her kind and guide of many who came after: Chrysalis of the Moon.

Tried out some new brushes and a slightly different shading approach. I feel kinda like the sketch is better at least for the hair but I really how Nimue looks here... I love my pure looking sorceress who's actually a mass murderer and doesn't even know it. it's fiiine don't worry about it. God I love her design in general she's so fucking pretty.

Northeast of the rest of the local facilities in the Duskscion Enclave, lie a walled in area of tall cliffs and mountains, their shadows cast upon the lowlands of the local facility. A quiet place, silent as the grave, yet bustling with life; should you know where to find it. Snow gently bathes the land, though in due time rain shall come to wash it all away, an unending cycle. Below the ground and in the cliffs are innumerable Memory Crypts; the resting grounds of the memories and remnants of the Duskscion people, preserved forevermore and protected within this living graveyard of a region. Presided over by the Shadow Envoy; their chosen gravekeeper, the archivist of Welkin Rhapsodies, who holds memories closer to their heart than any other. Their name? Traces of Silver Mist; the iterator superstructure at the heart of the Slumbering Peaks. Standing tall above it all, one of the most intact of their group; their city an eerily silent ghost town, near-unchanging in face of time, a memory of what once was. A monochromatic place that has only seen some mild decay, thanks to the efforts of its iterator.

Putting this here because I don't think this would quite fit anywhere else, but I like thinking about some of my characters and the similarities they have. For in a lot of cases what sets them apart are their motivations for what they do atop circumstances.

Themes of repression and one's life being outside one's control come up a lot but in such different brands throughout my characters.

Breezes and Radiata come to mind for similarities as an example, both being cheerful but insane women defined by their lives having been outside their control. Hiding behind innumerable masks, and their families being invaluable in recovery. Also murder hobos to a certain level and holding some issues with identity and hating themselves big time. However, so many circumstances set them apart heavily despite on the base level being kind of the same vibe.

Radiata is motivated by a desire for vengeance and unable to face the fact her life is a hollow one, her heart being under threat of being consumed by the emptiness, and her lacking any certainty of her identity and purpose in life. She is in massive denial of everything, running away from her issues, from the truth of her existence, from the woman who ruined her life, for acceptance means facing that few actions in her life were wholly done by her own will.

Breezes is consumed by acceptance of how meaningless and unnecessary her existence is, nihilistic and subsequently highly self-destructive. If nothing matters, then she'll do whatever she wants; including destroying herself for the heck of it, because she's highly suicidal. The only things keeping her somewhat restrained are her groupmates, and the fact ultimately she wants to do things to help people in order to prove to herself that her life isn't so hollow. But she hates herself for that very thing, for being selfish and unable to just fully accept the truth of her existence.

I dunno. I'm blorbo-brained and thinking more on the recurring themes in my characters and Radiata and Breezes come to mind for similar themes of control, life purpose, repression, identity, and so forth. Very similar personalities even on the surface, but I think an even bigger difference is that Radiata is still controlled by her abuser whilst Breezes is left dealing with the aftermath of being freed from her abuser, or more so the fact she isn't processing anything and burying her issues.

It's just. Man. My silly little blorbos...
