Thanks for waiting! Now this is a rare find – a Singing Salvia. You hum or whistle or sing a tune to it at night before you sleep, anything, and then when you wake in the morning the little tubular flowers will sing it back to you. Not like a voice; it’s kind of unexplainable, the sound. A great gift for music lovers.

No offense to what I’m sure is brilliant advice, but I think I’d rather just look it all up on google than sit and study anything any more–especially Latin. [grins] But you went to Beauxbatons? That sounds amazing, what was it like?

No offense taken. It was like school. Classes, extra curriculars, exams. Although I am willing to bet my treasured cacti collection that the food was a hundred times better than Salem’s!

Mundane wise, we have some Fuji Blue balloon flowers, a personal favorite. They bloom beautifully. Or there’s the classic purple Verbena – though their soil requires a little more care. Then there’s – oh, give me a moment – you’ll love this. I’ll be back out in a second!

Ten names? I can’t imagine–I have enough trouble just remembering binomial nomenclature. For some reason, though, that’s always the hard part for me. I can remember care instructions and the million different uses every plant has, but I can’t ever remember their freaking names.

Take Latin classes. Honest. That’s what they made us do at Beauxbatons, and nothing makes the names stick more. When the words become second nature they stick.

Oh, am I boring you? I'm boring you, aren't I. Easy to forget not everyone who comes in wants to hear this stuff. What was it you were looking for?

But really, it’s fascinating. Before Linnaeus and Species Plantarum even the wizarding used long and difficult-to-remember names for plants. The introduction of binomial nomenclature – that’s names of two parts, rather than multiple identifiers – revitalised Herbology and Botany in ways we don’t even think on. Can you imagine trying to tell someone about a flower and having to splutter out up to ten Latin descriptions? A single genus can have hundreds of species! Imagine!

What would your character do with absolute power—and no consequences—for one day?

Rose would tour Boston for the day, illegally re-purposing wasted spaces into gardens. Urban greenery galore!

Tell us the story behind one of your character’s scars.

She has a two inch faded line following down from between her thumb and pointing finger, along the bone, on her upper left hand. It’s from an accident involving a trowel at university while she was planting. The deep slice required medical attention but healed very well.

What is their handwriting like?

Is there anything they absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?

She refuses to fly on a broom.

Name three things they consider themselves to be very good at, and three things they consider themselves to be very bad at.

Three good things: organisation, making coffee, decisions. Three bad things: baking, texting back, sitting down still.

Are they superstitious?

No. Rose hates superstition and finds it ridiculous.

What’s their relationship with social media?

She uses it, but not in a personal way. Each has a purpose. Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration and organising. Twitter and Tumblr for humour and news. Facebook for required contact availability, despite never updating.

What’s their favorite type of weather?

Rose weirdly likes it all.

How are they at navigating? Do they have a natural sense of direction, or do they get lost in their own neighborhood?

She absolutely has a natural sense of direction. Even when attempting to get lost in the world, she finds her way to familiar spots.

How do they get around the city? Do they apparate or drive? Do they walk everywhere? Do they have a bike?

Rose apparates everywhere possible. Driving and biking cost, as does public transport, while walking is time consuming for day-to-day. Apparition is quick and cheap therefore the most sensible.
