Summertime was obviously Mabelâs favorite time of the year, but without her brother by her side, Mabel was a bit depressed. She was out adventuring by herself today. She had her exploration journal in her hand, as well as an extra set of clothes, food, water and other necessities in her backpack. Todayâs mission: find a mermaid.
Sheâd been reading up about them, and glued in her journal, she had resources she had found online. They were highlighted in pretty colors, in a color-code that looked completely random probably to strangers. Sheâd read up on the different mermaid species, with most of her information coming from a blogger named Milo Thatch. She also had a few clippings from Wikipedia and such.Â
Once she had reached her destination, she pulled off her clothes to reveal a bedazzled purple two-piece swimsuit. Mabel grabbed the goggles she had put in her bag, and pulled them over her eyes. She set her stuff neatly to the side of the lake, and she put her feet in the water. It was a bit cold, but Mabel wasnât going to let it bother her. She pushed herself a bit deeper into the water, and sat down in the water. She was fully underwater now, and she was looking for a mermaid. So far: Nothing.
She pulled her head back up for air, and she was surprised to see someone watching her. She smiled. âWere you looking for mermaids as well?â
