Rosalie’s loud scream was enough to draw attention, but Audrey could sense a complete meltdown coming, unless she did something to prevent it. “Don’t run off,” she said, grabbing her sister’s wrist tightly, almost forgetting how much stronger she had become since she’d last seen Rose. “It’s me. I’m still me. I’m not going to hurt you.” She spoke softly, trying to soothe her, or at least make her less terrified. “I… well yeah, I did kill him, but he deserved it.” Audrey glanced back over at his dead body as she spoke. “I don’t just kill people for the fun it. I know that’s hard to understand, but just… calm down.”
‘ you’re hurting me right now. ’ the human snapped, trying to pull her wrist out of her sister’s grip. her fear had turned into anger which only grew as audrey spoke. ‘ calm down? i thought you were dead, audrey, for years. and now i found out that you’re this - this monster, and you expect me to calm down? ’ a bitter laugh followed the rhetorical question, rosalie’s eyes narrowed in a strong glare. it was harsh, but the younger girl was so angry she was on the verge of combusting. she had spent the few years after her sister went missing hearing her parents spew hatred about vampires, and as much as she denied their existence, she disliked the creatures almost as much as her parents. ‘ go to hell. ’

it’s easy to tell that the blonde is obviously still slightly bothered by the topic, and the joke that spills from her lips seems to be a testament of that judging by the concern that flashes through her eyes. “i’m sure you’ll find a way to get that new start around here.”
‘ i mean, if it all goes bad, i can always use my dog to make friends. ’ the smile on rosalie’s face was genuine as she spoke to the girl, and it felt nice to actually be happy for once. ‘ or my cat, depending on the person. ’

the smile on davina’s lips softened, a small frown forming. “i’m sorry.” she offered. davina could understand it, the need for a fresh start. in a way it was what she had decided she needed, so she’d moved in with kol and she was going back to school. “a fresh start then? this is a good a place as any for one of those.”
‘ it’s fine. ’ she brushed off the apology quickly, although she did send the brunette a smile to let her know she appreciated the gesture. ‘ yeah, god knows i need a fresh start. nothing like a family death to ruin your reputation. ’ the joke was a bit too morbid to make around a new person, and rosalie almost regretted it as soon as it left her mouth.

he let out a hum and a nod as if he knew what she was talking about, but did not have the slightest clue. he rushed inside the doors, looking inside with slight wonder. it might have seemed as if the boy had never seen such a thing— well, he hadn’t. “no that’s fine— i do not mind,” he imagined it would be better than the floor, but he never complained. “pets are fine as well,” he couldn’t complain— it was nice enough she even offered him a place to stay.
a loud ding alerted her to the fact that they had reached her floor, and she led him down the hallway until they reached her door. ‘ wow, you’re so low maintenance - i appreciate that. ’ she glanced over her shoulder at him as she unlocked her door, letting him in first before turning around a re-locking it. her dog had already rushed to greet henrik, her cat following lazily behind. ‘ the dog is apollo, and the cat is tana - they’re nice, i promise. ’ after grabbing the bags from him, she set them on the table before turning to face him. ‘ okay, so i’ll try and get a bed for the guest room within the next few days, is there anything else you need? ’

“It is now.” Audrey replied, before she had even bothered to turn around to see who was speaking to her. She had fully planned on compelling whoever the person was, and was only taking a moment to relish in her vengeance. Audrey used the back of her hand to wipe the blood dripping from her chin, and when she eventually spun around, to say that she was caught off guard, was an understatement. “Rose?!” She glanced down at her sister’s hand, seeing the knife. “What are you doing here? Why do you have a knife?”
the quick scream that left rosalie’s lips shocked her - anyone who knew rosalie ( the post-parents death rosalie ) would say that she was incredibly hard to surprise, let alone scare. but the sight of her older sister covered in blood was enough to terrify the blonde. ‘ audrey? ’ she questioned, eyes flickering from the girl’s face to the dead body on the ground. the sight of it caused her to gag, but the realization of her sister being one of the nightmarish creatures her parents warned her about overpowered that. ‘ oh my god. ’ stumbling backwards, she stared at audrey in fear. ‘ y-you just killed someone. ’

laughing davina shook her head, “i promise i’d give it my best shot,” she replied, her tone still full of laughter. “of course, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t as long as you find people to fit in with. what made you move here though?”
rosalie’s laughter was cut short by the girl’s question, her muscles tense as she attempted to answer it without sounding completely pitiful. ‘ my parents died, and my aunt owns an apartment building here, so rent is cheap. ’ there were bits of information left out, of course, but she thought that it was a sufficient answer to davina’s inquiry.

davina nodded, “yeah, i was born in new orleans, and i’ve lived here ever since.” the brunette confirmed, offering the blonde a warm smile. “not every night,” davina laughed, “mardi gras is always an interesting period, or spring break time, or whenever there’s a grand festival.”
‘ oh i get absolutely crazy at festivals. if you ever see me throwing up on the side of the street, though, please mock me enough so that i never do it again. ’ rosalie joked, a warm smile on her face. ‘ i just moved here from orlando - think i’ll be able to fit in? ’

Clifton was having a very exciting week, getting close to Hayley in a more sexual kind of way, it was probably going to be a one time thing, but now his urges for Hayley was gone and his mind went to Hope, she was young but part of him kind of thought she liked him and thought whatever connection they had would be ruined if she found out he slept with her mother. He already had his birthday gift for Hope planned, excited to get out of the city and go to Paris and their Disneyland, he knew his Hope, he shook his head, thinking about Hope like she belongs to him. she had an eyebrow raised as she waited for whatever excuse the man would offer, crossing her arms over her chest. it wasn’t unusual for guys to stare at her but she typically didn’t confront the person, not until now. as soon as he spoke her name, her annoyance faded into confusion and she subconsciously moved further away from. ‘ yes, i’m rosalie whitman... ’ she confirmed, suddenly uncomfortable. new orleans was a big city and she had barely met anyone - it was almost impossible for this stranger to know her name. the fact that he did, however, made her extremely suspicious. ‘ how did you know that? ’
