Quinn sighed a little. âWell I cant even imagine doing this full time. Waiting outside someoneâs home just to get a candid picture ⌠sounds awfully boring.â In her opinion nothing was more boring than that. It for sure didnât sound all that exciting. âYou are being way too sweet to me.â Quinn simply said and she meant that. She had never met anyone who was as sweet as Marley was. She was always kind and caring and friendly. Sometimes Quinn caught herself being a tiny bit jealous when Marley was talking to other people - laughing and making jokes. But she was always able to shake those feelings off. There was no reason to be jealous. Marley was her friend. That was all. And she didnât want to be possessive.Â
âThere are just so many good female artists - models, actresses, singers, make up artists ⌠I think that women and girls should see them as role models and not as competition. Competition for what exactly?â Quinn was a very outspoken feminist for sure. Whenever she was a guest on late night shows or anywhere really, she always mentioned other female artists and talked about how she looked up to them or she praised them for current achievements. She had mentioned Marley a lot in those interviews, always saying how beautiful the girl was - inside and also outside. She would always talk about how much fun they had on set and how supportive they were of each other. âYeah it does look hot, you*re right.â Quinn laughed, and enjoyed the closeness. The other girl leaning into her some. âGoing through this alone would be torture.â Quinn said, before she guided Marley towards the seats. she sat down in her own and waited for the stylists to start their work.
Marley was really happy to spend time with someone who shared the same values as her. It was surprisingly hard to find someone in the business that talked the talk and walked the walk. It was understandable to some degree - jealousy and competitiveness were intense feelings that could easily spiral out of control. Even she had gotten a taste of that unsettling feeling, and it made her mind go to places she wished she never would go to again. âThere is more than enough room for everyone, contrary to popular belief. There isnât only one Oscar winning actress or one Grammy winning artist, there can be several,â Marley nodded, adding to Quinnâs sentiment. âAnd even if you donât get recognized by a bunch of white old men in the Academy boards, you still have people who adore you for you.â She had tried to uplift other women whenever she could, too. While she wasnât perfect at it, she would always try to buy makeup products made by women, preferably even women of color, support local businesses run by women and promote them on her social media. It felt like the least she could do with her growing platform.Â
Marley followed Quinn to the makeup chairs, sitting neatly down and greeted the makeup artists and hair stylists as they approached them. âSpeaking of talented women,â she smiled, nodding at the makeup artists. âDid you like the script for the upcoming episodes, by the way? Iâm so excited about our charactersâ arc.â
