Evaluation sheet for Mount Edgcumbe shoot
Risk Assessment sheet
I created a risk assessment sheet before my shoot down at Mount Edgcumbe so that Im more aware of the risks and dangers that there may be.
Productivity Evaluation
So far in my time plan I have completed all of the task that I had planned to do before lunch. I managed to complete all of task 1 in around half and hour so it left me around 2 and a half hours to complete the other two task, which reflecting back now I think that I should have set myself harder tasks so that I had more work to complete in the time period.
British Values
At the beginning of this small talk we had on British Values had little to know idea on what the official values are and as a British Citizen this is pretty bad that I had know idea on what they could be. They are as follows...
Democracy-
Rule of law-
Individual liberty-
Mutual Respect and tolerance for others-
After we talked about the British Values, we moved onto the upcoming general election and the importance of voting for policies not headlines or public figures. During this talk a shocking statistic came up that in the last general election 2.5 million adults from ages 18-24 didn't vote. This statistic seemed quite surprising to me as a lot of people seem happy to talk about their opinions on different parties, yet they don’t find the need to vote. Also if everyone of that 2.5 million individuals voted the end result could potential be very different to what it was back in 2015. The picture below shows the polls for the 2015 general election; and it looks that conservative only won by 6% so, if those 2.5 million individuals voted the result could have been marginally different.
The next general election is Thursday 8th June and the candidates are...
Conservative: Theresa May
Labour: Jeremy Corbyn
Liberal democrats: Tim Farron
UKIP: Paul Nuttal
Green Party: Caroline Lucas
The main two leading parties are Conservative and Labour, which are extremely different to one another. Conservative are more right wing and they believe that the fox hunting should be brought back, that the NHS should be privatised, more grammar schools and that benefits should be cut. Labour on the other hand are left wing and believe that higher education fees should be lowered, £10 for the minimum wage and that we should get rid of our nuclear weapons base.
This here are the feedback forms that I filled out for the progression workshop last Wednesday. I attended a Fashion, Media and Marketing and commercial photography workshop to help me choose a course for when I do go up to University.

This link above is for my Linkedin account. I decided to create this account as I thought that it would help get my work out there more. As it’s a new account I haven’t really edited it too much however, with time I will make it more detailed and informative.
My website

This link above is my link for my new Wix website. It’s not perfect as I still have to add a lot more imagery to the page and perfect my bio however, for a first time page I think that it turned out alright.
The value and scope of online promotion
During a talk today we were told about the importance of online promotion and we looked into what our favourite Youtubers earned as an income. I looked into the youtuber David Dobrik’s wage by using the £1 per 1000 views method. by using the website socialblade.com I worked out that...
In his latest video he had: 4,309,175 views
and his total of views so far is: 816,829996
The website roughly worked out that he earned between £205.2k- £3.3m a year. This shows me how that during this age of technology it’s vital to put your business up on social media to get your work noticed. His channel is comedy based content which usually ranges between 4-5 mins which is incredible for the amount if money he gets per video.
5 year plan
I have recently been making a small plan to help me through the next 5 years on where I hope to study and what I wish to have completed within those 5 years. At this exact point in time I’m in college two and a half days a week (not including my math’s classes) and working then another two days of the week at the Coteheel National Trust property; the rest of my time I find myself meeting up with friends and finishing off work from the week. I have realized through talking to a range of people and trying out different photography techniques that a more documentary/ journalism side of photography is what I’m more interested in.
From this I now know for certain that I would love to carry on photography onto a BA Honors course in University. After looking into a selection of universities I really liked the Gloucestershire university and the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography (BA HONS) Course. Also I was Quite interested in the University of South Wales and its BA Honors Documentary Photography course which sounded really interesting and focused a lot around what I’m interested in as a photographer. Because I wanted to keep the courses solely around Journalism/documentary it really limited my choices of universities as most don’t run this course, so these were the best that I could find.
Entry requirements for both Universities are I think easy enough to achieve as long as I put enough commitment and hard work into my work now. For the University of Gloucestershire I would have to achieve a DMM or 112 UCAS points to be able to be consider into a place in the course this is including Maths and English at GCSE. I think that this is a reasonable mark to get and I like to think that I would be bale to achieve that grade by the end of the course. The other University of South Wales on the other hand has a slightly lower boundary between MMP-DMM which levels out to around 112-80 UCAS points. So far from looking at both Universities I am more leaning towards the Gloucestershire University as I am interested more in the course and the surrounding area.
The locations of the university are in slightly different areas as the South Wales Universities is located in threes places around South Wales these are Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. I think that If I had to choose one I would choose Cardiff as Im interested in the city and it holds both a Photography BA Hons and a Documentary BA Hons. The second university I’m looking into and my favourite so far is the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenum.
