Vending at my first Bay Area art market this weekend and I’m really excited, but also sort of hesitant to post the flyer here. If you’re a local and want to check it out, send me an ask/comment and I’ll dm you.

day 4 of working on this drawing
your art is so incredible. i use ballpoint too, i was wondering what you use for the solid black backgrounds. i ruin my hand sometimes squeezing my pens too tight. thank you for sharing your art with the world.
Thank you so much!! For many of the paper drawings I’ve posted here the backgrounds were done with ballpoint pen as well. Which I don’t recommend as someone who also gets hand cramps.
Recently, I switched to a mix of tombow brush markers for the broad strokes and sakura pens for the smaller areas. I originally used 100% ballpoint for uniformity but it honestly doesn’t make much of a difference unless the black ballpoint has too much of a blue tint.
The backgrounds for all of these is ballpoint and the middle one is 90 sq inches . Filling the back took longer than the actual drawing, lol. Great if you want to ease your brain doing mindless work for awhile though.
This is what it looked like with ballpoint foreground and marker background. It might just be the pens I use, but the blacks are similar enough it doesn’t bother me

fyi to anyone who posts fine-detailed images/
I found out all of my art photos look blurry (at least before clicking on them) because they’re too HIGH res and tumblr down samples for the scroll view. Swapping one of my posts with a lower res version actually made it less blurry.
before and after. The high res original version (left) looks out of focus
