Rosie struggled to hide a smug smile, glancing at her face when she spoke. A redness warmed his cheeks when she continued, and he nodded a little. “I guess that’s true. Still, the instinct’s still there,” he said, moving to stand behind her as she continued to cook. His arms slid around her waist, and he buried his nose in her hair as he chuckled. “Yeah, it is. I should probably be clear, though: it was his security who picked me, not him. It’s not like he gets to choose his own guards.” He sighed, preventing himself from rambling any longer and moving to stand directly next to her, leaning against the counter again. “That smells so good,” he moaned, peaking under one of the lids. “What is it?”
