At the start of the video our hosts are talking about how Perseus defeats Medusa. He is able to avoid being turned to stone by not looking at her directly, only at her reflection in his shield.

Martin Shaw draws on teachings from Orthodox Christian Sages, who say that we don't fight evil, the lack of meaning in society etc by focusing on it. We do it by focusing on The Opposite.

To defeat evil we focus on G-d, to defeat meaningless modern society we need to immerse ourselves in Truth, Beauty and Goodness.

And the stories of Mythology and Folklore. They have roots in particular places, and that's important, because they remind the people of those places of who they are.

But they are equally about Humanity in General about Life and The World.
