Will raised his eyebrows at his daughterâs hesitant response. In fact, he was just about to coax her further for an answer when he heard his oldest daughterâs voice. While he was glad to see Lorraine, he knew instantly that she didnât know he was going to be here based on the tone of her voice. âRosie, you tricked your sister to come here?â He was almost scolding but at the same time kind of proud of her ingenuity. âDonât worry, you girls have a good evening.â Will offered Lorraine a camp smirk and was about to leave out the back when Rosie went on her guilt trip. His head fell back as he sighed and stepped away from the door. âAfter this, you and me are going to have a long conversation about tricking family members, young lady.â
     âânormalâ. right.â the sarcastic tone was more biting than she had intended, but she was irritated to the point that even her sister wasnât safe from her words. ânormalâ hadnât been normal in somewhere around a decade, and the last tradition the blonde wanted to ever bring back was family dinner. âthatâs low, rosie. real fuckinâ low.â she sat, arms crossed over her chest as she glared at her father. âwhatever, lets just get this over with so i can get back to the institute, iâve got things to do tonight.â a lie, or a partial truth at best. she could find something to do, but sheâd cleared her schedule when her sister had asked her to come over.
@rosiexwolf
this wasnât a complete disaster so far, so rosie was happy. she was expecting both of them not to be too happy with her to start. but she hoped by the end of the night they could at least be having a decent conversation. maybe a night that didnât end in a complete argument. âyes normal. as normal as we can get. incase we all forgot iâm still in school. iâm just trying to have a nice dinner with my family.â she said. rosie wouldnât lie that raineâs last words hurt a bit, but swallowed back at mean comments about her other plans being more important than her. moving back into the kitchen, she gathered up the rest of the stuff she needed, pausing to take a deep breath in. tonight was going to be nice. she really really wanted it to be. turning back around, she forced the smile back on her face. âraine you were telling me about some weird patrol you went on? what happened with that? you never finished telling me.â
