Three Day Weekend

The thing that amazes me about fanfiction is that you can read it just to vibe. You can say âI want the emotion of going home and reconnecting with an old friend, discovering everything that has changed and everything that is the same,â or something, and youâll find it. You can have it right away, and as much as you want, if you hit on a good vein. Yes thereâs fic with good plot (my favorite, honestly), but most of itâs just about finding an emotion and sitting in it for a few minutes or a few hours. It feels more like listening to music than reading a book. Fascinating, incredible.
All in one place: A masterpost of hard-to-search-for MFMM episode-related fics
Featuring: Fics in chapters of collections + fics that aren't tagged with the most common episode tags. In other words, fics that won't show up if you look at an episode's tag on AO3.
This isn't a side-eye at the way authors choose to post, I simply want to have all the episode-related fics I love in one place, especially for after rewatches :D
** I'll be updating this post, so if you see a reblogged version, click through to the original post to see any new additions.**
Without further ado:
The quote is from @rositalg gorgeous "War Stories", Chapter 12: Domesticity
"He had always wondered where she got her endless energy from. Her force of nature attitude seemed boundless when confronted headlong with it and it never dawned on him that there were times when she slowed down, let alone slept. But now that he had seen the other side of the equation, he understood that the beautiful hurricane in his arms crashed with just as much gusto as she lived."

Chapter 3 âCotton -1931âł is up now!
When you casually wonder how old the actor playing Mr. Butler is and Google comes through in spectacular fashion.
I accidentally did a thing
Anyone else decide that they couldnât possibly be bothered with writing a multi-chapter fic for December this year and then promptly started writing one anyway? No? Just me?Â
War it's not always about bombs and battle fields. Sometimes it's quite and invisible...đ€
Quote is from brilliant "War stories" by RositaLG
She is genius. I think she is Kerry Greenwood in disguise!!!! Thank you for letting me use it. đ

New Update
Them: âYouâve just uploaded 18 chapters of smut to A03, how are you going to kill the next six hours, RositaLG?â
Me:
One week to go!
In honor of December being next week, hereâs a preview: the first page of the first story of this yearâs Christmas fic.Â
Marrying Well:
Phryne emerged around the corner of the garden and paused.
Jack was leaning on a croquet mallet, looking smug, surrounded by the Stanley croquet set spread across the lawn.Â
The silent joke didn't need to be explained as she made her way over to him.
âI still refuse to get married and have four children,â she said as she grabbed the outstretched mallet offered to her and lined up with the ball.Â
âMm. Iâve been meaning to talk to you about that,â he mentioned, causing her to miss her swing.Â
âExcuse me?â She turned around to stare at him.Â
His eyes were smiling, proud to have gotten under her skin.Â
âWell, palms are tricky things to read, Miss Fisher.â He stepped up to hit his own ball. âAnd the way I see it, if someone was looking at yours, they might misunderstand what they were seeing.âÂ
He played with a confidence that suddenly reminded her of their waltz at the Grand and she realized that he knew something that she didnât.Â
âAnd what is that?â
âIf your palm showed a successful partnership by day and a shared bed by night with say⊠a handsome man in a fedora,â she rolled her eyes at his example, âwithout any context, one could interpret that as marrying well, could they not?â He argued.Â
âI wouldnât presume to know.â She hit her ball squarely this time, her competitive streak flaring.Â
âAnd while youâve done more than your fair share of care-taking, by my count, there are precisely four names that rise to the top of your list: Janey, Jane, Dot, and Hugh.âÂ
âYou raised Hugh more than I did,â she argued as he hit his ball.Â
âPalm readers donât know that.âÂ
âSo youâre saying?â
âIâm merely suggesting that the fates might have been closer than you realized as a wild young woman roaming the planet.âÂ
âAnd the only thing left was to engage me in a game of croquet, is that it?âÂ
âI preferred the trifecta, yes.âÂ
âAnd now that youâve constructed a case to fit your argument, what are you going to do next?â She stepped closer to him, a silent challenge to his authority on the topic.Â
âIâm open to suggestions,â he murmured, practically licking his lips.

With the impending release of pumpkin spice lattes and back to school supplies, I'm starting to prep for 2019 Christmas Smut. I think it's going to be location-based this year (desk, floor, wall, table, tub). Send me your favorite suggestions. Let's get creative.
Sean Doolittle is a gift to baseball and Twitter, always, but even more so today as he brings us all the best old-timey ballplayer names đđđ
