Haven’t been on here in a hot minute, but just needed to let y’all know that every single reporter/broadcaster who covered him had nothing but glowing reviews of my guy Devo.
And yes, he handwrote his thank-you/goodbye note.
I’m so. freaking. sad.

Went to the Blue Jays homepage and was greeted by this.
Just ridiculously, stupidly photogenic this kid is.
😭😭😭 It's okay, Bo-Bo, we don't blame you

Who else would be first to congratulate Bo!?

LOVE THIS!! Do we have any idea whose disembodied arm that is hugging him in the second GIF?
It’s been an ugly weekend in Blue Jays land, and I’m still nursing a lot of residual sadness about Tulo retiring, but here’s BRAND NEW BIG LEAGUER BO BICHETTE talking about Tulo and it made me smile.
BTW someone pointed out that Bo’s making his debut four years to the day after Tulo’s first game as a Blue Jay. Time flies, man.
And furthermore, here’s Tulo thanking members of the media in his official retirement conference call:
I’m not gonna lie, that line about “I do care about your guys’ job and what you guys have to do” made me tear up a little. He’s got a gruff exterior, but he’s a sweetie inside.
Rowdy Tellez quit baseball last year. When his mother Lori lost her battle with cancer in August, the 24-year-old infielder left the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons and headed home to California to be with his family. After some time there, Tellez decided that he wanted to stay, so he called the
Guys. This article appeared out of nowhere on my Twitter TL today, and it made me the happiest anything has in a long while.
I don’t want to spoil the entire article (partly because Alexis Brudnicki is wonderful and deserves the clicks), but here are some of the highlights.
Devon Travis is:
Per Rowdy Tellez, possibly the sole reason Rowdy returned to baseball after his mom died. If you enjoyed watching Rowdy play half as much as I did last August/September, you have Devo to thank.
Referred to by not one, not two, but FOUR current and former Blue Jays prospects as a ‘big brother’ (that’s every prospect interviewed in the article, FYI).
Someone who, despite having the WORST luck with getting hurt, manages to lift the spirits of every other player recovering from injuries.
An absolute gem of a human being (my own conclusion, given the evidence presented here).
I’m going to be smiling about this article for the rest of the week (and probably posting quotes pulled from it for that long, too).

I almost cried. I had the chills when Gurriel went deep and then when Biggio did, I thought “there’s the future right there.” I had tears in my eyes.
Charlie Montoyo, our sappy papa of a manager, on Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Cavan Biggio hitting back-to-back home runs yesterday
What to do with the social media account when your team is in rain delay: a masterclass
Former Jays posting about reproductive rights is extremely my shit, but even more so - THE CURRENT/FORMER JAYS WHO LIKED HIS POST 😍😍
(Ignore Becky, shes a uni friend, baseball writer Keith Law totally roasted me on Twitter for not blacking her out 😂)
My phone has this neat function where you can scroll on a screencap so please enjoy my timeline freaking the hell out over Vladdys first career home run 💙💙💙
This pic is the cutest because
A) Rowdy and Vladdy are adorbs together
B) Rowdy's holding a baby!!
C) the baby is Luke Maile's baby!!!
And the social media person did a great job with the caption. I loled.
Our boys are in suits! Giles especially looks nice, I love a good burgundy suit
Something about the "smiling pre-surgery hospital pics" really melts the old heart, doesnt it? Cant wait to see both these lovely guys back in playing form 💙💙💙💙
(Travis' pic is from 2015, Shoemaker's from this week)
Me: I totally understand his frustration, but...
Joe here: But you can't blame him for his frustration
.... I literally just said that
BO'S COMMENT!!! SO SWEET
We love a teammate who's supportive of their buddy learning a new language 💙💙💙
Matt Shoemaker made four starts for my team this year. FOUR.
And I’d totally jump in front of a herd of bulls if he was in danger of being trampled.
This guy is still limping his ass out to the bullpen every game so he can walk in with the other pitchers, he’s still celebrating at the plate after a walkoff (evidence), he’s still posting optimistic speeches on Twitter, and strolling around the Dome, meeting fans and being delightful when he has EVERY RIGHT to have taken off home to his wife, kids, and dog, to lick his wounds and feel sorry for himself.
I mean, how can you help but root for a guy like that?
