Idle fingers tap against the glass of his homescreen, awaiting a message from the only person that could elicit a sort of warmth from the man. It takes a few minutes and something pops up, excitement already building. It’s disappointment that greets Hades when it’s just a reminder from his assistant to pick up flowers for his mother. Sighing, he’s about to pocket his phone when a quick tap to double check his messages from that one app shows that he has yet to send his own response. Quickly, he types out a half assed apology in hopes that he doesn’t look to be an asshole.

vnderworld [sent]: I’m so sorry. I thought I replied to this. vnderworld [sent]: Would you happen to know what flowers are good to give a woman on her birthday?

Persephone is in the back of the shop, putting together her latest order when her phone finally buzzes on the table next to her again. Immediately picking it up, she hopes it’s not one of her stupid dating apps. Much to her surprise, it isn’t, It’s the messages she’s been hoping for. Smiling down at the phone, she’s quick to tap out a response: 

r0sesarer3d [sent]: no worries! life happens, i get it :)  r0sesarer3d [sent]: hmm tough question. i’d say it depends on her personality. is she outgoing? if yes, you could get away with something more flashy. if she’s quieter however, i would go with something more subtle. something only you know she likes.

Maybe it’s the penname she chose, but these questions were right up her ally and she loved getting them. Funny she received them at work too. Just as she hit send, the small bell to the shop dinged, Persephone immediately called out, “Just a minute!” She could finish this arrangement first, and maybe she’d get a response from him.

Bags in hand, Haley tries to keep her boss’ dry cleaning from touching the floor but it’s getting a lot harder to swerve around the people bustling through the sidewalk in addition to her lack of height. “Excuse me please. Move. Come on, I know you can see me. No one else is holding a fur coat in the middle of summer!” Her frustration grows as she’s knocked around but her main objective is to make sure she won’t need a second trip to the dry cleaners. 

And because life likes to give one big “f you,” she ends up dropping everything as a shoulder collides against hers. “Are you serious? Walk much?”

Her own hands were filled with floral arrangements, weaving through the crowd to make it to her appointment on time. This specific client would be livid if she was late or she lost an arrangement. She barely registers the angered screaming of the other until she collides with them herself. Hitting with an ‘oof’ Persephone manages to hold onto her arrangements, the other wasn’t so lucky. “Oh no...” She mutters quietly to herself. “I am so sorry, I can’t see over these flowers.” She intends on handling the situation polietly, but the other woman’s tone makes it immediately known that that’s not going to happen. Raising an angry brow, Persephone lets out a short laugh. “Me? You can clearly see that I cannot.” She gestures to the billowing flowers in her arms. “I’m sorry you struggle with carrying some laundry down the street. Now, would you like help? Or have I ‘done enough’?” She questions in a sharp tone.

Dustin stood up looking at the other chuckling softly “No you can’t look me in the eye and try and tell me the mist that happened last night and is still happening is natural.” He started using his hands as he spoke like it was further prove his point “I’m a man of science, and I believe everything thing has a reason that can be backed by science, but I did my research and this has never happened before in recorded history so that has to mean something. Don’t mean to sound crazy but there has to some supernatural reasonings behind it I’m certain of it.” 

Blinking softly at the man, Persephone raised a brow as he stood to face her. “I don’t have any explanation for you, nor one that you would accept.” She shrugged. “I personally think there is a fine line between science that we know about and the science of the unknown. This just happens to be a situation of the latter.” Crossing her arms over her chest, she looked him over, “As a man of science, surely you know that not everything is discovered right? Think of this as... as something for you to discover and put together.” Holding her hands up in defense, she finished with, “I’m just saying, surely there’s a positive to the situation, right? Not everything is bad or scary in the world.”

Setting the drink on the coaster, Mare offers a nod at the person who thanks her for the beverage as she turns back around and sets up a few things behind the counter before noticing someone nearby. “Hey! You just gonna lurk around or do you want me to get you something?” She questions, tossing a towel onto the bar as she wipes away any mess that previous customers had left behind, though it wasn’t all that surprising with how drunk they got at times.

Curiously watching the patrons at the bar, Persephone always had troubles deciding what to order. Truly, she wished she had a ‘go-to’ drink, but so far, she hadn’t found something she enjoyed enough to get it every time. Letting out a sigh, she found her eyes drifting to her empty phone, locking it once more. She shouldn’t be surprised she was stood up again, online dating had not been her strong suit, but it still didn’t hurt any less. Her ears perked up at the sound of the bartender calling to her. “Uh... I’d like to order something, but I’m not sure what I want.” She laughed nervously, trying to hide her dismay. “Could you recommend something for me? I really like sweet, fruity drinks. A bit of a cliche, I know.”

it was extremely rare that luna received visitors on her property, but then again it occasionally happened that someone wandered onto the grounds without even realizing how large her home was. she had decided to go outside tonight and sit underneath the moon with a glass of red wine in her hand. she was seated on her front porch when she noticed someone walking near the fountain in the center of the courtyard, squinting before she set the glass down and approached them. “is there a good reason you’re trespassing? i doubt you came all this way to stare at my fountain, no matter how lovely it is.” she folded her arms across her chest as she stared at them. their response would no doubt determine her reaction.

Persephone crept carefully through the grass of the unknown area, muttering to herself as she moved. “C’mon.. you’ve got to be around here somewhere...” Peering around every shrub she could find, she looked hard for the flower of her interest. It wasn’t until the other person spoke that Persephone even knew they were there. Startling with a brief scream, she woman whipped around to face the stranger, her hand coming to her chest in shock. “Oh my gods! I am so sorry, I didn’t know you were here.” Her brows pulled together in confusion as the other’s words fully sank in. “Trespassing?” She repeated cautiously. “Oh! Oh no.” She shook her head, “Oh I am so sorry, is this your property? I had no idea, honestly.” Persephone was tumbling into her rambling, the same thing she did whenever she got nervous. “I wasn’t going to steal anything, or, or ruin anything. See, someone told me there were moonflowers here, y’know, the flowers that only bloom at night? And I wanted to see them,” She wanted to take them, but she wouldn’t. “But! Clearly this place is occupied, so I can leave if you’d like?”

Before coming here, SHE/HER once lived on the pages of GREEK MYTHOLOGY/GREEK PANTHEON Though now they currently spend most of their time as a FLORIST. If you ask the townsfolk about what they are like, you will hear that they are UPBEAT but also HOLD GRUDGES. If they had a theme song it would be ME AND THE DEVIL - SOAP&SKIN. background: - raised by a single mother who was incredibly protective. so much so that persephone rarely left the house.  - that being said, she would do everything in her power to sneak out or even escape, but it was to no avail. she had specific places she was aloud, but that was all.  -the only things she and her mother did together that didn’t end in fighting was gardening. everything from floral arrangements to growing vegetables, it was the one thing they could bond over.   - she didn’t know life any other way. so, as soon as she was old enough, she left. it was a true rude awakening as she tried to adjust to life, but she managed.
