The play began and Hajime immediately wondered why he had spent perfectly fine money on this. Although the crowd had consisted of mostly sheep he still had had a sparkle of hope within him that the actors wouldn’t be sheep, but as usual he couldn’t catch a break.
Sheep in colorful costumes were on stage, bleating their “lines” at each other passionately. Even Hajime could tell a lot of time and effort had went into this, but even so he couldn’t enjoy the play if only because he didn’t understand anything.
This was the worst. For as hard as the sheep actors on stage were trying, they couldn’t impress or amuse him. The thought of leaving crossed Hajime mind, but he quickly dismissed that thought when he realized he would have to pass all those sheep in their seats again.
Well, if he had no choice but to stay he could at the very least rest his eyes a bit. His seat was pretty comfortable and the actor’s lines weren’t distracting at all seeing as he didn’t understand them anyway, so he could easily fall asleep here for an hour. Having decided on taking a short nap, Hajime closed his eyes and started to doze off, only to rudely be awakened not even five minutes later.
“Ha?!” Hajime was suddenly wide awake, ready to snap back if needed. He turned around slightly and looked over his shoulder to see a woman giving him the most vicious glare. Her piercing green eyes were so intense that it made a shiver run through him.
Who did she think she was, calling him a brat and insulting him in the same breath?! Was he just going to take that and let her walk all over him?! YES… Yes, he was.
“…I apologize. Ruining your viewing experience hadn’t been my intention.”
Hajime turned back around again, before awkwardly slumping into his seat. Sitting in a strange position like this took some centimeters off him, but his hair was still in the way, no doubt. He leaned as much to the left side of his chair as he could, placing his left arm on the armrest and resting his head in the palm of his hand. The position he was in now was highly uncomfortable, but he didn’t want to feel the wrath of the woman behind him again.
Just as he had thought things he calmed down and he could attempt to go back to sleep, something unexpected happened. As if arranged before hand, the dramatic classical music that had been playing live stopped the exact moment the sheep sitting left from Hajime bit into his ahoge.
“Hey! Hey, hey hey! That hurts! Let go of me!” Hajime shouted, his voice loud enough to even make the sheep on stage stop whatever it was they had been about to preform. More and more eyes were on him as he tried to make the sheep let go of his ahoge. “That’s not hay. That’s my hair you idiot! Just let me go already!”
Rolling her eyes, the reaper settled back in her seat with a sigh, finally being able to actually see what was going on stage. Knowing the play so well herself, she actually found it highly amusing! Like a very, very... unique sort of parody. She wasn’t going to lie... These sheep were actually doing a better job than some of the human actors she had seen in the past.
Starting to wonder and imagine the sight of a sheep acting school as she half-mindedly watched the play, her train of thought was cut short with the stop of the music, a nearby bleat, and a shouting child.
With the whole crowd and even actors already staring, she couldn’t stand it anymore. No matter whether the actors are good or bad, human or not, no one must interrupt the show! No useless chatter, no raising your voice, and definitely not... Whatever this is! How dare he violate the most basic unspoken rule or the theater?!
Standing up from her seat, she took a firm, merciless hold on the boy’s head with one hand, the other trying to force open the mouth of the sheep (thank god she was wearing gloves today), forcefully pulling them apart in one go, no matter how much it would hurt this insufferable brat. That thing on his head would probably break a pair of scissors, talk about the teeth of a sheep.
Pulling his head back, still holding tightly onto his hair, she leaned forward, her glare shot straight into his eyes, hissing venomously through sharp, gritted teeth.
“Next time you bother me, you get on my list.”
