Another spooky season has come and gone, with incredible contributions from the RISE OF THE GUARDIANS community!
Time to put this blog to rest for another year, and to dream spooky thoughts for the next eleven months.

Day 4: Watcher
Jamie never really liked the old closet. It had been a gift from his grandma to his mom, but it had never really fit in anywhere. So it had ended up in the attic.
Exploring the attic on its own was fine. It was fun, even, to go through some of the old boxes filled with books or clothes or photo albums. But the closet stood at the farthest wall. Stuffed with other random junk that Jamie's dad had always said he was going to clear out at some point. But that never really happened for whatever reason.
Ever since the Battle of Easter, Jamie couldn't help but feel like something was even more off about the old closet. And at one point he could've sworn he heard something scuttle around in there.
"Mice." His mom told him, looking tired. "I really need to clear out that old thing."
And yet, Jamie thought, something told him it wasn't mice.
It was around Halloween. Jamie had decided to check out the attic, remembering that there had been an old pair of aviator goggles in one of the boxes, that he wanted to use for his Halloween costume. So he told his mom what he was doing, and climbed up.
It was dark, the only source of light being the bright light of the moon, casting a beam in across the old dark attic. And the open door of the closet, where the sound of scuttling could be heard.
Jamie froze. He told himself not to be afraid, but sometimes you can't help it when you are faced with the unknown, especially as a child. Because that scuttling noise had not sounded like mice...
And then he saw them. Pale, glowing eyes, multiple of them.
All of them watching him.
Squeezing in one final drawing for the Halloween event x.x I try, but art is definitely still fighting me.

Sketchbook Log: North sometimes fears the cookie tradition as more often then not the ones left out that are made by the children are bitter or over baked. Once in his early years he even chipped a tooth.

Day 3: Spin
I'm very behind on the Halloween prompts. I really like the prompts this year, so I might try to catch up on them. For now, here's one late one, "Spin."
Sometimes, weaving Nightmares takes a bit more refining, and Pitch has found that the best way to do it is to turn the Nightmare Sand into a thread. Some of the smaller Nightmares are willing to lying around, allowing their Sand to be spun into fine threads.
(This was inspired by an image I can't find now, of a person spinning yarn directly from an Angora rabbit)
