If you haven't played the original Modern Warfare trilogy (which I kind of doubt), then skip this post for your own good.
The bodies of Roach and Ghost were never found, so the coffins at the funeral were empty, a fact known only to Sanderson's family.
It was Price who called Roach's parents maybe two or three days later, even though he really wanted to tell them in person - because that's what Gary deserved.
The Sandersons were devastated, and the first outpouring of grief actually went to Price, so it was Soap who answered the phone and calmed the couple.
On the day of the funeral, a truly large crowd gathered: family, friends, soldiers, and many others. Even people who knew Sanderson only by sight or had heard of him.
Price and Soap were there too. True, only for a moment, because they couldn't let anyone see them—they were wanted, after all. But even that moment was enough to bid their friends farewell.
Yes, friends. Because there were two funerals that day. Price knew Ghost had no family, no one close to whom he could contact. And the Sanderson family knew Riley well, having visited their home several times when Gary insisted.
That's why both graves were literally overflowing with flowers that day, falling from them. People cried, even if not everyone knew Simon Riley.
* * *
When Task Force 141 ceased to be considered a threat, Price made sure that Ghost would be "moved" to his homeland, where his family buried.
After that, there was nothing left to do but to set out to avenge his fallen friends and eliminate Makarov once and for all.
Maybe if he had known earlier, he wouldn't have aimed at Zakhaev that day in Pripyat, but at Makarov.
Maybe then everything would have turned out differently.
He never quite got over the guilt of Raccoon City – even though he logically knows there was nothing more he could have done, the trauma of that night has stuck with him for years;
Even after all these years, he still believes in people – despite everything he has been through, Leon always wants to save first and shoot later;
Nightmares – He has recurring dreams in which he's a rookie cop in a city full of zombies. He wakes up sweating, his hand reaching for his gun;
Leon never wanted to be a hero – he dreamed of a quiet life and an ordinary job in the police, but fate dragged him into a spiral from which there was no turning back;
Leon hides his fatigue behind humor – those sarcastic lines he throws out when stressed are actually a defense mechanism.
Loose and fandom
Coffee Instead of Blood – Leon absolutely cannot function without caffeine. Claire once commented that zombies could kill him faster if they took away his cup of coffee;
Leon has a weakness for dogs – he can be covered in blood and dust after a mission, but when he sees a puppy, he instantly softens up;
He always cares too much about style – it seems like a coincidence, but his jackets always look like they came straight out of a catalogue;
A telephone nightmare – Leon hates texting. He always replies curtly or not at all, preferring face-to-face conversation;
Zero resistance to flirting – any woman (Ada, Hunnigan, even Claire for fun) can throw him off balance if she throws in an innuendo.
Funny and goofy
The great enemy – stairs – no matter how many times he fights mutants, he will always trip on the stairs or the railing sooner or later;
Elastic pockets – he can carry half an arsenal at work, but in everyday life Leon loses his keys and wallet;
Relationship with Chris – she loves him, but secretly laughs at the fact that Redfield solves every problem with… his fist;
Pizza – Leon has an unhealthy fondness for pizza. If it weren't for training and missions, he would have succumbed to it long ago;
Zombie apocalypse is apocalypse, but the hairstyle has to hold up – Leon has some secret formula that would make his hair survive any disaster.
Usually, when people talk about Adler and speculate on what his 'ideal life' might look like, they imagine rather the stereotypical American type, which is a house with a white fence, a wife, children, and a dog (preferably a Golden Retriever or a Labrador). No one, however, has any idea that Adler secretly is a fan of cats, and even keeps one in his apartment. Once he found a dirty, frozen kitten on the street and even his seemingly icy heart couldn't leave the creature to fend for itself, so he took it to his apartment. At first, he planned to provide the cat with just a bath, some food, and a place to sleep, so that the next day he could find a home for the kitten, but ultimately he became too accustomed to the small creature, which also started seeking attention from the man. Then he understood that he is a fan of cats and quite often stops in the street whenever he sees a stray or just a wandering furry creature nearby, and then crouches down to pet it. Sometimes he also leaves some cat food in one of the nearby alleys, where he most often finds cats. Only Sims knows about it, who was a witness to the finding of the kitten, and even quite often leaves it in the care of his wife when he and Adler have to leave for a while. And just so you know, this is not some pedigree and fussy cat, but a rather ordinary and unremarkable animal that melted the frozen heart of a man who was willing to sacrifice the lives of others, and even his own happiness, for the good of millions.
On that note, what if Adler has a hamster? They are active at night and I imagine him being restless and so he has a little buddy to keep him company! (Absolutely not projecting here lol) 😂😭
The question is, who feeds the hamster when Adler is away? The cat can manage, but the hamster? Or maybe Adler is working in the middle of the night and all he hears is the hamster running around in its wheel for about an hour straight 😂 (btw I love this idea)
Well, thank you very much. Black Ops is actually one of my favorite Call of Duty series. Great characters and historical atmosphere. Something beautiful <3
A perfectionist to the core — even in everyday tasks. His documents must be perfectly organized, his coffee mug must always be in the same place, and his books must be at an angle on the shelf;
He enjoys classical music —particularly Bach and Wagner. Not because the sound relaxes him, but because of the mathematical order and monumentality of these works;
He hates small mistakes — a typo in a report, a button that is crooked, a stain on his shirt – these are things that can drive him crazy, though he rarely shows it;
He's obsessed with control — he's afraid of losing control of himself and his body. This is one reason he's so focused on viral development and his own modifications—his body must be as perfect as his mind;
He has a photographic memory —he can read a document once and remember every detail. This makes him bored by people who have to repeat or confirm things several times;
He doesn't like alcohol — he believes it weakens his mind and reflexes. If he does, he opts for something strong and drinks only symbolically;
Silence above all else — he works best in absolute silence. Even the sound of a ticking clock can unsettle him if it lasts too long;
A hidden melancholy — he sometimes wonders about who he could have been if Umbrella hadn't shaped him the way he did. He never shows it, but sometimes he lingers on the past for a few seconds longer;
He likes order in clothing — even if he had only one shirt, it would be perfectly ironed. This is an element of the image that it treats as part of his "mask".
Goofy headcanons
24/7 sunglasses — he has so many pairs that if he lost one in the woods, he could immediately grab another from his pocket:
He's annoyed by the internet — not because he can't use it, but because people waste its potential on stupid things. If he saw TikTok, he'd probably immediately plot to destroy the entire network;
He takes board games too seriously — if he agrees to play, say, chess or Risk, he treats it like a battle for the world. If he loses, he becomes unbearably spiteful;
He hates being touched without permission — but ironically has zero problem standing very close to others to the point of invading their personal space;
He has a weakness for dark humor — he can crack such a dry and sinister joke that people don't know whether to laugh or run away;
He has one thing that he is afraid of — pigeons. He just hates them. According to him, "they are dirty and pointless", but the truth is, one pooped on him in childhood and the trauma stuck;
He would tell children fairy tales… but very strange ones — instead of “Little Red Riding Hood” he would talk about Darwin and natural selection;
He'll never admit it, but he likes a good pair of vintage sunglasses — he has a whole collection, but no one has ever seen them.

Keegan really likes cats, and it is their company that makes him happy (sometimes even more than the company of other people). At first, he planned to have just one cat, but his problem was simple: he saw a stray cat — he brought it home. That's how from one fur ball, there ended up being six. Every cat is different, each was adopted differently, and yet they all are the reason why Keegan loves coming home. So at this moment he has six really different cats, but they treat each other as if they are from the same litter:
Astes (♂) — it is a beautiful cat with slightly longer brown fur, which may be a mix of a ragdoll and a siamese. He has snowy white paws and chest area, while his muzzle, ears, paws, and tail are a dark brown color. He's eyes are a pale yellow. Astes is Keegan's first cat, so that might be why the tomcat follows the man practically everywhere (even to the bathroom), and several times he even tried to hide in the man's bag when he was forced to return to the army;
Echo (♀) — it's a beautiful Siamese cat with blue eyes that Keegan found while walking in the wooded area around his home. One evening, he found a bag in the lake, which he quickly pulled out, and inside he found two kittens, of which only Echo was alive, whom he immediately took home. This is a very energetic cat who hates water (unless Keegan is washing, then she jumps into the bathtub or under the shower). She loves to lounge by the fireplace, where she has her favorite spot, and she always waits by the window until her owner returns;
Millie (♀) — it is a Bengal cat with yellow-green eyes, which Keegan found during one of his missions, in one of the abandoned buildings. He heard a kitten's cry and couldn't pass by indifferently, so he detached himself from the others and found the kitten trapped under the rubble. Millie and Echo treat each other like sisters, which is why they eat from the same bowl, sleep in the same bed, and wash each other. The cat is afraid of people, so someone might have abused her. She used to be scared of Keegan too, but now she loves him;
Emiliette (♀) — it's a gray Maine Coon with one green eye and the other blue. Keegan received her as a gift from friends for his twenty-fifth birthday, but everyone was firmly convinced that it was an ordinary Persian, which is why they were very surprised when the little kitten eventually started to resemble a goddamn lynx. She is very cuddly and loves the moments when Keegan is lying on the couch, and she can lie down on him. And right after her, the other cats join in; so the man remains immobilized;
Emmett (♂) — this is a Russian blue cat with green eyes that Keegan saw at the shelter when he was going with a friend to pick up a present for her friend. In theory, it was supposed to be just a companion, but in the end, he walked out with a cat that, although it was sickly, turned out to be a wonderful addition to his feline family. Emmett had joint problems, was clawless, and also had worse vision in one eye, but he was not rejected by other cats, nor especially by Keegan;
Bernie (♂) — this is a cat of the Sphynx breed that Keegan received from a friend who regularly comes to feed his cats while he is at work. Bernie is still a kitten with pink skin and blue eyes, who loves to play tag with Echo and Millie, or to lie down between the other cats just to gain a bit of warmth from their fur. To be honest, Keegan is more of a fan of 'hairy' cats, but this particular kitten won his heart as soon as it laid down on his lap. Besides, Russ couldn't help but think about how this cat might look in damn sweaters or hoodies.
At first, Elias was not convinced at all about the idea of having a pet at home, and therefore he never agreed. Even after his wife's death, he was not convinced about it, but everything changed one day when he noticed a wandering German Shepherd dog in the area. At first, he ignored her because he was sure that she was just out for a walk with her owner, but he ended up seeing that dog too often. Eventually, he decided to check on the animal, which turned out to be quite aggressive, at least until Elias started bringing food. Later he noticed that it was indeed a female dog, and quite overweight for a starving dog; then he understood that she must have been pregnant. He tried numerous times to catch her and take her to the vet, but the dog always ran away, even when specialists in such matters were called. For a while, Elias stopped seeing the German shepherd, and surprised by his concern, he decided to search the area, which resulted in finding a dog lying somewhere in the woods, surrounded by a bunch of puppies. She was dead, but injured, so Walker guessed that she must have been attacked by some animal, or perhaps she was struck by a car and barely managed to get to her young, who might have been starving for some time. The puppies were taken to the veterinarian, but of the six, only two survived, and one of them had to be euthanized for its own good. In the end, Elias decided to take the other puppy home, but he told his sons that he got the dog from a buddy from the military who trains K9. So far, he is not sure why he didn't tell them the truth. Maybe he just didn't want to sadden the children with the story of the homeless and pregnant dog, which ultimately did not find a home, and only one puppy from her entire litter survived. Either way, to this day, Elias is happy he decided to take in that dog. At first, he planned to name him Lucky due to his luck, but in the end, the name Riley won out because it was the first word Logan said after a long period of silence.
This is a headcanon that I actually came up with while playing the original Modern Warfare trilogy one day. It would be an interesting plot twist if Yuri's seriously "knew" Price earlier.
To be honest, Yuri and Price met much earlier, although the latter is not even aware of it. In 1996, along with Makarov, they were waiting in a car, and the Russian could almost swear he saw something flash from one of the higher buildings. At first, he thought it could be some shards of glass, but later Zakhaev lost his arm, and then Yuri knew it was a sniper rifle. For his own safety, he did not mention it because he could have lost his life for not informing earlier about a potential threat. Later he was instructed to check the area, and on the way, he noticed how an unknown man was carrying another injured one on his shoulders. At first, he planned to eliminate them, but something compelled him to stop, and for some reason, he decided to turn back to the others. Years later, he and Price met, but only Yuri remembered him. That fishing hat, the same, although this time a bit of unkempt beard, and the same worried expression on his face. At that moment, Yuri was glad that he had decided not to pull the trigger that day.
Summary: It's just Jill, who one day at work notices how unusual Wesker's walk is, and this leads her to burst out laughing, which draws the attention of not only the other S.T.A.R.S. members but also Albert himself.
However, it later turns out that she was not the only one who noticed it.
Wesker's pride was seriously hurt that day.
Wesker calmly entered the S.T.A.R.S. office, trying to ignore the people who were obviously slacking off instead of working. When he had already entered his office and reached for the door handle, he heard Jill's loud laughter. With a hint of annoyance, Albert adjusts his sunglasses, peering over at Jill from his office doorway. "Valentine, what's with the cackling?"
"N-nothing boss..." She tried to suppress another burst of laughter. "S-sorry."
Wesker steps into the room, his footsteps measured and deliberate. "If it's nothing, then why don't you look like you're about to burst?"
"N-no, it's f-fine." She covered her mouth with her hand. She was laughing at him, but she didn't want anyone to notice, especially Wesker himself. He never shared her sense of humor, but until now, she wasn't sure if it was a matter of his age or perhaps his character.
"Care to enlighten me?" He strode closer, his gaze sharp. In response, Jill shook her head, still giggling like a child.
"She will be in trouble." Chris mumbled to Barry, who merely sighed and nodded, knowing their captain and his attitude towards the lack of professionalism in the workplace.
"Valentine, my patience is wearing thin. What's the joke?" His voice remained calm, but the underlying tension was palpable.
Her eyes widened as she tried to suppress another giggle. "It's... it's nothing, really."
Wesker raised an eyebrow, his piercing gaze unwavering. "I highly doubt that, considering how you're trying to hide it." He was now standing directly at her desk, with his arms crossed over his chest, a clenched jaw, and slightly furrowed, light eyebrows.
"It's just... I remembered something funny."
"So maybe you'll want to tell me privately, since you don't want to say it out loud?"
Jill knew that tone of voice too well and realized that Wesker was already a bit irritated by her childish behavior, even if it was just laughter. As Chris used to say - 'that guy always has a stick up his ass.' She swallowed hard, looking around nervously. The last thing she needed was for their secret relationship to be exposed. So she nodded quickly. "Yes, boss."
He gestured for her to follow him into his office, and she did so, her heart racing. The door clicked shut behind them, and the sudden silence was deafening. She could feel the weight of his gaze as he took a seat at his desk, his fingers drumming impatiently on the surface. The expression on his face still showed irritation, but Jill couldn't help it, so her lips let out another giggle, this time quieter.
"I'm waiting, Jill." His tone remained calm, but there was an edge to it that she recognized all too well. It was the voice he used when he was about to unleash his wrath, and she didn't want to be on the receiving end of it today.
"I...I...mean...S-sorry but..."
"You're stuttering like a nervous schoolgirl." He leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable behind the shades. "If it's that amusing, I'd love to be in on it."
"Have you noticed how you walk?"
His eyebrows shot up in surprise, and the corners of his mouth twitched slightly. "Excuse me?"
"Quit your job in the police and go into modeling." She started laughing again, so she covered her mouth with her hand, not wanting to worsen her already bleak situation.
"Modeling?" He leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "What's so funny about that?"
"That's how you walk. You do it unconsciously, and you have a catwalk." She took two steps toward his desk, trying to mimic a catwalk.
"A catwalk?" He echoed incredulously. "Valentine, I walk like a man, not a runway model."
In response, she merely shook her head as she imagined her captain walking down the runway as if he were a model. After all, if he tried, he would likely have a chance, considering how attractive he was. And on top of that, his walk...
"I don't see the humor in this." He said, his voice cool, yet a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes.
"Oh, babe, come on." She knew she shouldn't call him that while they were at work, but she couldn't help herself. "It's nothing wrong, especially since nobody even notices it."
"I assure you, I do not strut like a catwalk model."
"You do!"
"I do not."
"You do." She didn't give up.
"I do not." Nor did he.
"Seriously, you have a catwalk in a masculine style. Really, consider giving up the police. I would gladly come to EVERY show."
"Very funny, Jill." He couldn't help but smirk, his eyes betraying his amusement despite his stoic exterior. "But I assure you, my walk is purely functional."
A simple lifting of the corners of his mouth was enough for Jill to know that the man was no longer angry. Maybe for most of his time, Wesker remained cold, stoic, and definitely too serious, but he had a weakness for her, which she knew, even if Albert never admitted it out loud. "Say what you want, from today I will see you on the red carpet."
Wesker sighs, the smirk on his face growing slightly wider. "Valentine, you're going to be the death of me with your nonsense."
"Aww, you love me for that."
"I love you for a multitude of reasons, your 'nonsense' being just one of them." His gaze lingers on her for a moment before he stands up and walks towards her. "But let's not forget who's in charge here."
"Oh, come on, Al."
As he approaches, she feels the electricity between them, the same thrill that had drawn them together in secret. He stops in front of her, close enough that she can feel the warmth of his breath. He reaches out and gently tilts her chin up, his thumb brushing against her skin. "You know the rules." His voice is a soft rumble, hinting at the power he holds in check. In response, however, she only smiled, as if she was still amused by the whole situation. "I don't think you're taking this seriously, are you?" He said, his voice dropping an octave.
"Nah, I'm not."
His smirk grew into a grin, and he leaned in closer, his breath hot against her cheek. "Perhaps I need to remind you." He whispered, his hand sliding around her waist and pulling her closer.
"Maybe you should." Her hands slowly moved to his chest, heading towards his shoulders.
His grip tightens, and he tilts her chin up even further, his eyes searching hers. "Perhaps I do." He leans in, his lips a whisper away from hers. "You know I don't tolerate insubordination, even from you."
Jill bit her lower lip with a smile. "Whatever you say, supermodel."
"Jill," he warned, the smile fading from his lips, "you're pushing your luck." His grip on her waist tightens slightly.
"Just find it amusing." Her thumb tracing a small circle on the soft fabric of Wesker's shirt.
His grip on her waist tightens, his eyes still piercing hers. "Well, let's see if you find this amusing." He leans in and presses his lips firmly against hers in a brief, almost punishing kiss. It's a stark reminder of who's in charge, but the warmth and underlying affection in the gesture is undeniable. The kiss grew deeper, more intense, and he could feel the heat of her body against his. He knew they had to keep this relationship hidden, but in moments like these, it was hard to remember why. He breaks the kiss, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I hope that was an apology, because if it wasn't..."
"Something like that. But I can't guarantee that I will not change your name in my phone to supermodel."
Wesker's eyes flashed with a mix of annoyance and amusement. "You do that, and you'll be the one walking the plank." He says, but the playfulness in his tone betrays that he's not really mad. He releases her waist, but his hand lingers for a moment before pulling away completely. He returns to his chair, without rushing. "Now, back to business."
"Can I present to others that you were terrible again and made me stay after hours to clean the entire office with a toothbrush?"
"If you dare, I'll make it a reality." He said, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. He knew she was trying to lighten the mood, and it was working. The tension in his shoulders eased slightly as he sat back in his chair. Later, Wesker watches her leave, his thoughts swirling. Her laughter was infectious, and he couldn't help but feel a warmth in his chest. It's rare to see her so relaxed, especially around him. He leans back in his chair, contemplating her words. A supermodel? Him? The thought was absurd, yet it brought a smile to his lips. It's been a long time since he's felt this... human.

A few hours later, everyone from S.T.A.R.S. finished work and was heading home. Wesker went straight to Umbrella after work, but he remained in his police uniform. Later, he entered the laboratory of his longtime friend and once rival, William Birkin. They both discussed the virus and Umbrella, and later Wesker decided to ask his friend a question that had been bothering him since Jill started laughing at his way of walking. "Birkin, have you noticed anything... odd about the way I walk?" He asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.
"What? Your catwalk strut?" Birkin's laugh echoed through the sterile lab.
"It's not a strut."
"Oh, come on, it totally is!" Birkin's laughter grew louder, bouncing off the gleaming surfaces of the lab. "I can't believe you finally noticed it!"
"Noticed it? I've walked the same way for years. It's only now that it's apparently become a... 'catwalk strut'?" Wesker said, the corners of his mouth twitching.
"Al, you have been walking like that since I’ve known you!"
"It's a functional walk." Wesker insists, trying to keep a straight face.
"Functional, my ass. You've got more swagger than a peacock in mating season, and you know it." William broke away from his work to look at Wesker.
"It's called confidence, William, not swagger."
"Confidence, sure. But that little hip sway? That's all swagger." Birkin jokingly made a hip movement, further wounding Wesker's pride with his silly jokes.
"Hip sway?" He echoes, genuinely confused. "I do not sway."
"Oh, you totally do!" Birkin says, still grinning. "It's like you're always ready to pivot and take on the world. It's your super-secret power move."
"I do not sway." He repeats firmly, a hint of color rising to his cheeks.
"Do you know how many girls would like to walk like that? You do it unconsciously, and yet even my wife is envious of you. Doesn't your balls hurt from this?"
"I don't walk like a girl, Birkin. That's ridiculous." Wesker was really starting to get fed up with this conversation, he even started to slowly wonder what had possessed him to bring up this topic in the first place. Well, perhaps he suspected that Birkin would respond negatively and that would end the whole discussion.
"But I'm not saying that you walk like a girl. A catwalk can be done even by a guy."
"It's not a catwalk, it's just a walk." He says defensively.
At one point, Annette walked into the laboratory, surprised by the discussion between the two men. "Should I ask?"
William smiled at his wife. "Annie, agreed with me that Wesker walks like some kind of model, you must have noticed that."
Wesker glanced sideways at William, and his gaze practically screamed for him to drop the subject and not involve Annette, who had probably come just to say goodbye. After all, they had a child at home, whom a babysitter could not take care of forever. By the way, Wesker hasn't seen Sherry in a long time, how long has it been since her birth? Two years, three?
"Well, it's hard to disagree, I'm sorry Albert, but that's the truth."
"See?" William sounded exceptionally proud, as if they were talking about work and some new discovery, rather than something as silly as Wesker's walk. "I told you, 'Wesker the Model'. It's definitely working for you though." Birkin teases, and Annette laughed in response as she packed her things.
"Alright, boys. Have fun, and I'm going back home." Annette threw her bag over her shoulder and looked at her husband. "Try to come back home earlier at least once, okay?" But before Birkin could respond, the woman had already left the laboratory.
Wesker watched Annatte walk away for a moment before looking back at William. "Don't let it get around, Birkin," he warns, a hint of playfulness in his tone. "I have a reputation to maintain."
"Oh, it's already spread like wildfire. You're the talk of the lab."
"Great. Just what I needed." Wesker rolls his eyes, unable to completely hide the smile that's trying to form on his face. He turns to leave, shaking his head.
"Hey, people have been talking about that since they saw the 18-year-old intern you were years ago!"
"I was never an intern, and I never walked like that," he replied, trying to keep his cool.
"Oh, please, the stories are legendary." Birkin's laughter followed him out of the lab, echoing down the hallway as Wesker walked away. The thought of his colleagues snickering behind his back was... annoying, to say the least. He'd have to deal with the teasing later. For now, he had more pressing matters to attend to.
Hi, I hope you don't mind me requesting something. 😅
But I was wondering if you could do headcannons for resident evil men especially Leon. Basically they find their S/O looking at pictures of them on their phone or in a photo album just admiring how handsome he is and maybe sighing like a lovesick puppy.
Thank you!
Hey, of course you can request for anything! Especially if it's Resident Evil, which I've been a fan of since childhood. So feel free to request for anything you want, at any time!
Resident Evil men find their S/O looking at pictures of them on their phone, just admiring how handsome he is + sighing like a lovesick puppy
Characters: Albert Wesker, Chris Redfield, Carlos Oliveira, Leon S. Kennedy, Piers Nivans, Jake Muller, Hunk, Ethan Winters, Karl Heisenberg
Albert Wesker
When he notices that you are staring at your phone screen longer than usual, he approaches slowly, and his shadow falls on your hands. Without asking, he reaches for the device, slides his finger across the screen, and sees that you're looking at... his photos.
He raises an eyebrow, smiling in his icy, slightly mocking way.
– Really? – he speaks in a drawn-out manner, as if the whole situation is a joke to him. – You could have just asked for a photo... or for me.
If you admit that you just like looking at him, Wesker will let out a short, ironic laugh.
– Well, I understand. That's completely justified. – it's supposed to be a joke, but you can see that his ego just grew.
However, when you put down your phone and look at him with the same admiration you had just a moment ago, something in his gaze gently softens. He won't say it outright, but he will step closer, and his fingers will lightly brush your cheek.
– Remember that the image will never capture the fullness of the original.
And then, as if nothing happened, he will leave... but in spirit, he will remember this scene. And he will probably deliberately leave a new picture of himself in your phone, 'accidentally' captured at a moment when he looks even more perfect.
Chris Redfield
At first, he thinks that you are just browsing the gallery on your phone. But when he notices that you've been stopping on his pictures for a good few minutes and smiling at the screen, he immediately becomes suspicious.
– What's so interesting there? – he asks, leaning forward, and when he sees his own face on the screen, he immediately furrows his brow and lets out a quiet laugh.– Seriously? My sweaty face after the training?
If you start saying how much you like it, his ears will turn slightly pink, even though he will pretend that it doesn't affect him. He will sit next to you, put his arm around you, and try to turn the situation into a joke:
– You know I have more gym photos if you want the full album.
But when you hug him and say that he looks amazing in every photo, Chris falls silent for a moment. He will only reply:
– You also look your best when you smile like that.
And then he will kiss you on the forehead, because he doesn't really know how else to express how much he likes the fact that you see something more in him than just a soldier.
Carlos Oliveira
Carlos notices it right away because he has an eye for detail... and he loves it when the attention is on him. He leans against the back of the couch, peeking over your shoulder with a wide smile.
– Ooo, and what is this? My fan club meeting in a one-person version? – he teases, leaning so close that you can feel his breath.
He unceremoniously takes your phone, scrolls through the photos, and starts commenting on each of them.
– Here I look like an action hero... – he clicks further. – And here, like a romance hero. What can I say? Full package.
When you say that you like them all, Carlos will grunt happily and wink at you.
– You see? I told you I have the 'wow' effect in every situation.
In the end, he sets a selfie he just took as your phone wallpaper — pulling you close and embracing you in a way that both of you fit in the frame.
– Now you have the best photo — me and you together. The rest is just an addition.
And even though he pretends that it's just a funny banter, you can see in his gaze the warmth that says he truly appreciates how you look at him.
Leon S. Kennedy
At first, he pretends not to see it. He's sitting on the couch next to you, supposedly staring at the TV, but out of the corner of his eye, he glances at you as you scroll through photos — sometimes from missions, sometimes private ones, when he has that slightly tired but sincere smile. When he hears your quiet admiration under your breath ('God, you are so handsome'),
– Really? Don't you have a more interesting album? – He mumbles, pretending to be embarrassed. But if you look at him, you'll notice that the corners of his mouth have lifted higher and his gaze has softened. He seems to be joking, but inside, something in him is softening.
If you hug him with the phone in your hand and say something like "Look at yourself, how can I not be amazed?", Leon will sigh, embrace you, and whisper:
– You know you're making a complete pushover out of me, right?
And although he will pretend that it is just a minor scene without significance, in his thoughts he will remember that feeling.
For a man who has spent most of his life in a world full of fear and loss, the awareness that someone looks at him with such warmth is something... priceless.
Piers Nivans
At first, he is curious about what has so intensely captured your attention. He approaches, looks over your shoulder, and sees... his photos. At first, he raises his eyebrows, and then he smiles in that characteristic, warm way.
– Seriously? You have so many other things on your phone, and you choose me?– he says, half in jest, half embarrassed.
If you admit that you just like looking at him, Piers chuckles slightly, but then quickly looks away.
– It's a bit... embarrassing. But... nice.
He will sit next to you, leaning his arm against yours, and start looking through photos together with you. For some, he will say something funny ('Here I looked like I hadn't slept in three days... because I hadn't'), and for others, he will comment more quietly ('This is one of my favorites... because you were there next to me').
At the end, he will take your phone, take a quick selfie with you, and add it to the album.
– So that you have something new when you will be admiring. – he will say with a smile, but in his eyes, there will be a spark of pure warmth that reveals that the whole situation has truly touched him.
Jake Muller
He notices right away because Jake has an eye for these things. He is leaning against the doorframe, looking at you with his half-smile.
– Hey, am I just seeing that you are creating a mental love story with my face as the main character? – throws, entering the room.
He sits next to you and without asking reaches for your phone. He scrolls through the pictures, stops at one, and shakes his head.
– Seriously? What? I had a three-day stubble and a scratch scar there. Couldn't you choose something where I look like a model?
If you say that they are all perfect, Jake smiles wider.
– I don't know if you are objective... but I like that attitude.
He will annoy you by setting his fresh selfie, in which he strikes the most exaggerated, 'sassy' face he can make, as your phone wallpaper.
– Here you go, new material to marvel at. Free of charge.
And then, when he has teased you enough, he will lean into your ear and say softer, almost seriously:
– It's nice to know that someone sees something more in me than just a mercenary with problems.
Hunk
He notices it right away — Hunk registers every detail, even how long you look at the screen and how gently you smile. However, he doesn't say anything. He simply stands nearby, watching you from under the mask.
Only after a moment, in a quiet, subdued voice, he/she throws out:
– What do you have there?
When you turn the phone towards him and show him the picture — one of the few without a mask or in a rare, private moment — he slightly tilts his head. There is no smile, no laughter, just a brief, almost imperceptible raising of the eyebrows.
– ...Why? – he asks briefly, as if looking for a logical reason.
If you reply that you simply like looking at him, a hint of surprise will appear in his voice. He won't deny it, nor will he sarcastically comment on it. He will just sit next to you, looking away. However, after a few seconds, you will hear a quiet:
– I'm not used to... that.
He won't ask for more, but tonight you'll notice that he left a small, paper photo on your desk - old, faded, taken before his current life. No signature. No comment. But you know it's his way of saying, 'I understand and appreciate'.
Ethan Winters
Ethan initially has no idea what you are doing at all. Only when he hears your soft laughter or a sigh of admiration does he come closer and glance at the screen.
– Is that... me? – he asks with a slight surprise, as if he didn't expect to be the object of such attention at all.
When you confirm that you just like looking at him, Ethan immediately blushes and starts nervously scratching his neck.
– Uh... wow, that... is nice? I guess... – he says, laughing uncertainly.
He will sit next to you, a bit awkwardly, but clearly pleased. He will scroll through several pictures and stop at one that he thinks is bad.
– I have a stupid face here. Why do you like this so much? – he will ask, and when you respond 'because it's you', for a moment he won't know what to say.
In the end, he will take the phone from your hands and take a quick, ordinary selfie of you both, a bit disheveled and natural.
– So that there is something new to watch... and so that it's known that I also have something to look at.
And although he will act as if it were a trifle, he will smile for a long time at the thought that someone looks at him with such tenderness.
Karl Heisenbarg
Heisenberg quickly notices what you are doing — after all, it's hard for him to miss it when someone is staring at something so intensely. He immediately approaches, lightly tapping a metal hammer on the floor, as if announcing his entrance.
– Well, what do I see here? A fan club for Karl Heisenberg, one-person edition? –throws with a wide, mocking smile.
Without asking, he takes your phone from your hands and starts scrolling through the photos, commenting on each one with exaggerated seriousness:
– Oh, here I have the look of a 'mysterious genius'... and here 'a classy villain'. –nods his head as if he is evaluating himself. – And here... oh, here I am just as sexy as hell.
When you say that you like them all, he stops, looks at you from under the brim of his hat, and falls silent for a moment.
– You know I can take a thousand new photos if you want. But I warn you, each one will be more dangerous for your heart. – he speaks half in jest, half seriously.
In the end, he takes a selfie of you... but it's done in such a way that mainly he's in the frame and you are only partially visible.
– Perfect. Everyone will know that you are 'the one' who is dating the most handsome engineer in the village.
And although he leaves with theatrical laughter, later you see that he left an additional, unposed photo of himself on your phone — less perfect, but with that rare, genuine smile.
John Constantine never had anything against children.
Yeah, he could even save some of them – sometimes by accident, sometimes while drunk, sometimes because no one else had the guts. But having his own? Never in his life. Him? A caretaker or parent? A responsible adult? Ridiculous.
And then he met her.
A child. Small. Loud. It smokes a bit, shines a bit, and already sins a bit just by existing.
A hybrid of an angel and a demon – a miracle or a curse? It's unknown. Only one thing is certain:
Now it's his problem.
And hell and heaven already know where to look.
Word Count: 2.1k
Notes: To be honest, I have no idea what will come of this. I have a few ideas that could lead to a really cool miniseries where John plays a bit of a father, but I can't guarantee that everything will go my way. In total, I have more sketches of individual scenes than actual chapters, so I would have to spend a bit more time on it. Especially since I will mainly take into account only the series Constantine (2014-2015), because I haven't watched Legends of Tomorrow yet.
I don't know yet how many chapters there will be exactly. For now, I anticipate only 5, but everything could still change.
If anyone notices any mistakes anywhere, please feel free to let me know. Every comment is like a new lesson that helps me learn something new.

It was practically a day like any other. The map had not shown any supernatural activity lately, so everyone had their hands tied and could only wait. That's exactly what they did, but only Zed and Chas were the ones who could find any kind of occupation for themselves. John, on the other hand, was doing... his John things, which only he could understand. This time the man was building a tower out of cigarettes, so he must have really been bored that day.
"Is this some new spell?" Chas asked, trying to lighten the mood a bit as he paused momentarily from reading the book. The man never complained when it came to a moment of rest from their adrenaline-filled and hellish life, because he could focus on such simple activities as reading. "I was at the store, if you had asked, I would have bought you more."
"It's enough that I'm sentenced to hell, we don't have to turn my lungs into it too."
"True, but maybe you would be able to build the Brooklyn Bridge if you had more 'materials'?" He suggested, and a smile appeared on his lips as soon as he noticed the other man rolling his eyes.
"So, any changes on the map?" Zed asked as soon as she came down the stairs to the other two. She had spent the last few hours in the city, not wanting to stay in one place too long with Constantine, who could sometimes be a pain in the ass - especially when he was bored.
"The same as before you left, love." His tower of cigarettes collapsed on the table, and some of them fell to the floor. "Bollocks."
John let out a heavy sigh and started picking up the cigarettes, which he then packed into a cigarette box. Chas looked at him with an raised eyebrow, holding back a comment like 'That's not very hygienic', because he knew that his friend wouldn't bother to throw away the seemingly dirty cigarette. Zed rolled her eyes at this and approached the map, wanting to check if she might sense something new, something that would suggest that something bad or simply supernatural might happen soon.
"Guys, I'm not sure, but that bloodstain seems fresh." Zed didn't have to say anything more for John and Chas to join her.
†—۞—†—۞—†—۞†۞—†—۞—†—۞—†
Ultimately, they didn't have to travel that far at all, because something was supposed to happen (or had already happened) in an old building that was about less than two hours away from them. Zed read a bit about this place and it turned out that it was an old orphanage, from which the kids had to be evacuated due to the prevailing conditions in that place. The building was simply old and no one wanted to renovate it, which led to the repeated collapse of some walls and parts of the roof. Using gas was becoming dangerous, just like with water, and that's why they decided to move the children elsewhere - especially since there had been several minor fires and water spilling from faucets to the point of flooding the bathrooms.
"A perfectly ideal place to practice black magic." Constantine stated, playing with fire in his lighter.
"A cult or a gang of kids playing at summoning spirits?" Chas suggested, as he sat in the driver's seat. Zed was sitting in the passenger seat, reading something on her phone, while John was sitting in the back as usual. In the background, music was softly playing from the radio, interrupted from time to time by the sound of the engine or other cars passing by on the road.
"Maybe." He confirmed, looking out the window. "At least I would choose such a place if I wanted to have a chat with demons."
Chas parked a little further from the building to avoid the risk of someone panicking at the sight of a strange car (assuming it involves people and not demonic entities), which could belong to police officers, even if it was a taxi. Later everyone got out, and a strong gust of wind hit their faces. The sky was overcast, so there was a chance that sooner or later it would start to rain.
John and Zed went ahead, while Chas stayed to lock the car and look around the area a bit. As Constantine expected, the door was open. The man pushed the door, which creaked loudly and echoed down the empty corridor. Inside, there was a dim light and a tomb-like silence, with the smell of mold and dampness in the air, just as befits a building abandoned for years. Both of them turned on their flashlights, and the first thing they noticed was the footprints on the floor, so the theory that people would be involved in the matter turned out to be correct. A point for John Constantine and his intuition.
"It's a bit quiet here." Zed stated, looking around the room. She tied her hair in a messy bun, from which some strands escaped.
"Seriously, do you think they would scream at the top of their lungs and risk being heard by someone?"
"You do that." She admitted it when she directed the beam of the flashlight towards him, and Constantine had to shield his eyes with his hand. "And besides, who would have heard them?"
"It's not that right next to this place, there isn't a town, so people can always wander around the area." He rolled his eyes, somewhat irritated that the woman had not connected such obvious facts. "And besides, it's a good place to get drunk." He peeked into one of the rooms.
It was dark and stuffy inside, the furniture covered in dust and cobwebs, but nothing particularly caught John's eye. No animal corpses, satanic paintings, or candles. Perhaps, indeed, the group of teenagers just wanted to come here to get drunk and have fun. But on the other hand, the map wouldn’t have called them here. At one point, Chas joined them, claiming that he hadn't noticed anything suspicious in the area, apart from a few broken windows and graffiti on the walls. He also hadn't seen any cars or bicycles anywhere, and all the other entrances were locked. The three of them moved forward in search of any clues or signs. "Maybe we arrived too early?" Chas suggested, checking the next room."The map does not always show the places where something has already happened." He quickly scanned the entire room, looking into drawers, cabinets, and even behind paintings. Nothing interesting that would indicate any trouble or evidence that someone had been in the building recently. "Perhaps we are too early and we need to wait."
"Definitely not."
"John-"
Then they heard a loud bang from above, and then... the crying of a child?
"Is this what I think it is?" Zed seemed bewildered, but at the same time worried.
"Let's hope you are wrong, love."
Almost immediately, everyone rushed upstairs, trying to follow the crying that led them to the dark and slightly ajar door. John took a deep breath and went in first, but almost tripped over a corpse on the floor. Or what was left of the corpse. The whole room seemed to be a real massacre, taken out of a horror movie - full of blood, torn corpses of many people, the stench of death, an overturned and bloody cradle... wait, what?
"What in the bloody hell is this?" Surveying the scene, John's eyes narrowed, his heart racing. It didn't look good, on the contrary, it looked terrible. It's frightening to think about what could have killed those people in such a way.
"Looks like someone's had a nasty run-in with the dark arts." Chas said, his voice low and tight with tension. They slowly approached the crib, the crying grew louder. Chandler slowly peeked behind the crib and pulled aside one of the blankets, revealing a sobbing infant. "My God..."
John's gaze sharpened as he scanned the room, searching for any sign of the mother or the source of the danger. "Where's the bloody parent, then?"
"Could've been the poor sod in the corner." Chas suggested, nodding towards the mutilated body. "But that doesn't explain the baby still being alive." The man slowly pushed the crib aside, revealing the view of the baby to the others. It was a tiny girl, very pale, with a tangle of blonde curls sticking to her face. Chas couldn't stand the sight and without a moment's hesitation, he took the infant in his arms.
"Are you crazy?" John dozed off, almost letting the cigarette slip from his mouth.
But Chas wasn't listening. He was just slowly swaying his arms and cooing softly to the baby, trying to calm it a little. Zed looked worried, but she was afraid to get closer. Something was wrong with that child, and she wasn't the only one who could feel it. She looked at John, expecting him to say something, but the man merely stared at the girl with a mixture of shock and a certain focus, as if he was trying to understand what was going on here. "It's alright darling, you're safe with us." Chas said calmly, still rocking the baby in his arms.
Chandler had always been the most responsible one, which is why he surprised the other two so much with his reckless move that could have cost him his life (or just one of his lives) had the child turned out to be a demonic trap. And yet the man looked troubled, perhaps because he himself had a daughter whom he loved very much? John felt something tighten in his chest, and his stomach twisted unpleasantly. He wasn't quite sure why yet.
"Quiet now, love." He said as he approached the crying baby and placed his hand on her forehead, looking for any signs of injury or magic. However, he immediately felt as if his hand had been shocked, so he jumped back as if burned. "Bugger." He winced, checking his hand. "This little one's got more juice around her than a bloody fruit stand in the Amazon." He stated with furrowed brows. "This isn't normal, not even for our kind of 'normal'."
"Could she be...?" Zed began uncertainly.
"What?" Chas asked.
"Could be anything, Zed. But it's not like we can just leave her here." John's eyes darted around the room, looking for clues. "Maybe it's some kind of sacrifice gone wrong?" He mumbled under his breath, speculating. "Ugh, quiet now, little fireband."
Chas frowned upon hearing the tone of his friend.
"You can't expect a baby to stop crying on command."
"So maybe you can calm her down somehow before my head explodes from this crying." John left the room wanting to collect his thoughts in peace, without the child’s wailing in his ear.
Chandler merely rolled his eyes and returned to soothing the baby, while also inspecting the girl's unusual facial features. The fact was, they were plump in their own way, which could suggest a few months old infant, but some areas seemed almost too sharp, too perfect for someone so young. Additionally, the very fact that the girl had so many lush curls in such a light color... and then, Chas saw her eyes. They were incredibly beautiful - a combination of beige, gray, and gold but in faded tones. He had never seen such eyes, certainly not in a human.
"Let's take her away from here." He stated, and Zed nodded, following the man into the hallway. The baby had calmed down a bit, although it still seemed restless and wiggled quite often in Chas's arms.
"We should notify the police." She said, as they approached Constantine. "We can't just leave all of this here like that."
"First, we will need to look around here and search for anything that can help us."
John was right, but on the other hand, the child could have made things quite difficult and also slowed Chas down, so they probably had no choice but to exceptionally leave the scene and come back later, if not the next day.
Constantine felt that this case could be different, but he did not expect that a child could be involved in it. In fact, something was telling him, practically screaming, that this was not an ordinary child, and taking her with them would come with huge consequences. At that time, John Constantine had no idea how right he was and how big a mistake he made by agreeing to all of this. On the other hand, he did not know that a coin has two sides, so besides those bad things, good things will also happen, though it's hard to say if they will indeed be that good in their situation.
