Trouble finding the right blogs to follow? Trouble finding an audience?

Welcome to Rotomblr Blog Ads, a blog created to help new and existing Pokémon IRL blogs get their names out there and find an audience!

As things stand, currently blogs are generally promoted by sharing around their intro posts/pinned posts. There's nothing wrong with that, but it does make it hard to establish what to expect from a blog storywise when the primary information is an in-character introduction.

This blog exists so that you can write up a fully out of character introduction to your blog, completely focused on why people should follow it and what they might expect to see there. Just pop into our asks or submissions, do a writeup, hit send, and we'll take it from there!

We hope to be a helpful resource for the Pokémon IRL community!

There was a prophecy. Every fifty years, a Warrior, a Guide, and a Mage were supposed to do their duty, calm the ghosts, and go home. But something went wrong. Their world wasn't complete. So instead, they've fallen from one incomplete world into another - the world of the 1997 Spaceworld Demo of Gold and Silver.

@themage-fell is Lucy (nickname Lulu), who is the Mage. Or at least, that's what she's been told by her family. Lucy is 9 years old, and her older brother is Saffron.

On the surface, Lucy seems to be dealing with everything she's gone through suprisingly well. Maybe Saffron really did shield her from the the horrors? Or maybe it's the voices in her head that tell reassure her that everything is okay, and that they will deal with anything scary. She struggles to remember periods of time, sometimes. Surely everything is fine. (Lucy will grow up to have DID. For reference, I have OSDD-1b. Won't be focused on until she's a teenager.)

Lucy is a Chosen of En and she will start with Bayleaf the Happa and Chamomile the Ēfi. She starts off separated from Jason and Saffron so people helping her through being lost & alone is encouraged.

@theguide-fell is Saffron. His blog title is intentionally misleading - Saffron pretends to be the guide in order to meet Jason, the Warrior, before his family does. Saffron initially appears as a mysterious, capable, and knowledgeable character. Once his backstory is revealed, this all falls apart a little.

Saffron is a trans man who was raised to be the Mage, who is always female. When he refused to live as a woman and started fighting back against his abusive family, they replaced him with his younger sister, Lucy. Saffron loves his younger sister, and feels extreme guilt for "abandoning" her when he ran away, stealing the Mage's flower-shape relic in the process. He believes he is the Mage, and was trying to make sure the prophecy was fulfilled. Anxiety, guilt, and C-PTSD inform every move he makes. It has never occurred to him that therapy exists.

Saffron is the Chosen of Sui, and starts with River the Kurusu and Toxin the Burakkī. Saffron knows the most about his original world, and his worldview is shaped by the way he was raised. He'll probably be the most fun to interact with, as he feels that he needs to learn as much as he can.

@thewarrior-fell is Jason, the Warrior. He is a chill, laid-back emo guy who got dragged into this mess by chance.

He has clinical depression but went to therapy about it and got medicated (though he's since run out). Compared to the other two, he's well-adjusted and knows very little about magic & ghosts. He acts as the straight-man of the group.

Jason will be acting as the POV character for the first arc, as he falls into Silent Hill. He is the Chosen of Rai, and will have Hearth the Honōguma and Leaf the Rīfi as his starting pokemon. He eventually starts dating Saffron (theguide-fell).

Did you like the beginning of Homestuck, but not all the complicated stuff? Well, @gardengnostic-fell is a Jade Harley faller blog who fell into the Pokemon Pearl universe when she tried to enter the medium.

Jade's blog chronicles her adventures exploring Sinnoh, as she searches for her friends. She's is currently in Eterna City. She has a Poliwag named John, after her friend, John Egbert.

Because she is so early into Homestuck, you really don't need to know anything about it to interact with her. Anything super relevant will be explained by Jade herself. Having said that, interactions from other Homestuck fallers is encouraged.

Jade doesn't know this, but she will never see her friends again. Her universe is separate from all other Homestuck fallers. This is because Jade has a reoccurring theme of loneliness in Homestuck (e.g. she grew up isolated on an island with only a dog for company), and I love seeing characters suffer.

(Also, as a Witch of Space, she is a chosen of Palkia. This has been foreshadowed but not actually revealed yet.)

Do you want more hate in your life? Want your muse to experience the beauty of cyberbullying? Then you should follow @pokedrug. Cane is an inverse version of Apapane (Pharmamon), inspired by Alola's theme of native vs invasive animals.

Cane is a pharmacy tech because he failed pharmacy. He's also an ex-Team Skull member. He works in a pokecenter in Po Town, Ula'Ula island, Alola. Unlike Apapane, Cane has no respect for patient privacy. Or privacy in general.

He is a rock-type specialist, and owns four pokemon. Clog the Sudowoodo, Lavender the Graveller, Nancy the Nosepass, and Marina the Rockruff. Marina is a recent addition to the team - Lavender brought home a shiny rockruff, and Cane started taking care of her before I fell off the face of the earth for a year.

Cane is mean and a bully. Cane will be rude to any character who interacts with him. I only interact with Cane if the other blog has interacted first, or if they have let me know they are okay with Cane interacting. I will check privately before sending anything horrible as Cane, but I appreciate it if other blogs let me know how mean they are okay with Cane being. Sending Cane in-character hate and being rude back is encouraged.

@pharmamon is a pharmacy intern who works at pokecenter on Ula'Ula island, Alola. Her real name is Apapane, but she's a very private person who refuses to reveal even her gender online. She takes things very literally, and is generally polite, but easy to wind up.

She's a flying-type specialist who has four pokemon: Zapatear the Oricorio, Quinn the Fletchinder, Miller the Murkrow, and Nimbus the Swablu who has Woobat genes (adopted from pokemonpetfinder).

She often posts photos of her pokemon, stories from her work, and medication PSAs.

She is also the main blog I use to interact with & reblog other pokemon irl posts, so she may pop up a lot in your notes! She was also my first pokemon IRL blog, so she's been around since 2024.

@astra-the-pokemon-trainer is weird, she’s a steel type specialist with 20 years of travelling and nigh encyclopedic knowledge about steel types under her belt. For now she’s staying in Lumiose City. She has a ton of metallurgical skills (such as blacksmithing and soldering), can sew semi well, is afamilial, has basic nurse training, cannot be shut up once she starts on her pokemons, and is mildly poisonous.

@rayquazas-favourite-gal is like the cutest gal in Hoenn, especially since she's a chosen of Rayquaza, which is a pretty decent endorsement. She hangs out with her best friend, disappoints her dad for getting out of academics, and generally just tries to be cute and have fun. She'd really rather not talk about what she was before she got into the kogal aesthetic, just that she now is a flying type specialist and much happier without all that junk weighing her down, now light as a feather.

One day, a 7 year old made a choice, and that choice changed the trajectory of not only her life but the lives of everyone around her.

Seven years later, a 14 year made a choice, and that choice changed the trajectory of not only her life but the lives of everyone around her once more.

Estelle Lucille Wyrmwood or, as she prefers to be known as, "Esper" is now a 17 year old girl who will soon be attending her last year of secondary school at Naranja-Uva Academy which she has been attending since she was 14.

Since then, she has had her life turned upside down in more ways than one: from as simple as obtaining a girlfriend to as extreme as finding out she is psychic and that her father had stolen her away.

In the past year or two, things have quieted down for Esper and she is now having to find ways to live past her trauma, all the while she is still trapped in relation to (and as the heir of) a family she does not care for and actively hates.

She just wants to return home to Spikemuth.

@espers-n-espurrs is a blog that has been around for some time (this version of her since 2024) and as a result as been through the wringer both directly and indirectly!

Her blog actually takes place in 2027, and was on hiatus for a time with things occurring during said hiatus, so if anyone is ever lost or confused about what happened please don't be afraid to ask either IC or OOC!

Esper was born in Kalos, raised in Galar post age 7, and has been in Paldea since age 14. She is a character haunted by the 2nd Darkest Day and is a character that deals heavily with incredibly messy and convoluted family relationships and dynamics.

So, while she may not be actively being thrown into high-stakes situations, she still deals with the trauma that has stemmed from essentially the first 15 years of her life. She will discuss these topics on her blog alongside other issues she may face for being disabled or for being a psychic among other things.

But she still generally has her whimsy and does plenty of posting about her pokemon or interests, one of which has to do with her culture!

What? You wanted more? Oh, I get it, you're waiting for the twist. Well, the twist is, there is no twist. May Sapphire Ruby Emerald of @its-gonna-be-may is exactly what she looks like, a 13 year old girl who became champion and saved the world and is now just living her best life. She is the purest essence of the Child's Power Fantasy that is Pokemon distilled into one single human being. She's every trope we've spent our blogging careers subverting, averting, deconstructing, reconstructing, investigating, interrogating, and parodying played completely straight.

Her life isn't perfect. Her dad is at work a lot and sometimes bad things happen, but it all works out in the end. Because she's free, she's independent, she gets to do and be what kids in real life want to but can't. There's no adults to tell her no, and if there are she just disobeys them. She can save the world, she can catch that Legendary, she can become Champion of the Pokemon League. She can do anything.

So, if you're feeling nostalgic for some good old fashioned Pokemon silliness, where kids can do anything and friendship is the most powerful thing there is, then I just might have the blog for you.

Ever wanted to see the world of Pokémon through the eyes of someone from far, far beyond it? Have thoughts about how they used the Ultra Recon Squad for one set of games and Pokémon Go and want to know more about them and Ultra Space? Are you a fan of science fiction, paying homage and subverting the tropes found in it? This is the right Pokémon IRL blog for you!

Pandoria is a member of the Ultra Recon Squad’s interdimensional cultural studies sector and has always been intrigued about many aspects about other worlds, the people that inhabit them, and the stories tied to them. Originally, her expedition to Earth was for far more personal reasons that the squadron didn’t know about: she wanted to save her comatose partner within the squadron (who is also her romantic partner), Seira, after she had been afflicted by a Nihilego’s venom during a field expedition to extract samples. Out of desperation, she headed off to the Unova region to find some sort of way to awaken her — only for something else to awaken within Pandoria’s blood. That was the moment her journey truly started. From there, it led her to the Alola region, a place full of light that was the very antithesis of the starless, otherworldly megacity she called home. It’s safe to say a lot has happened since then.

Many of the themes found within Pandoria’s arcs have to deal with what it means to be fundementally human, despite her POV being from something that is far removed from humanity. She’s long since accepted the unimaginable circumstances that she found herself in, but is still looking to find a world that would do the same.

Additionally, her blog also serves as a way for me to share my many headcanons about Ultra Space ranging from Ultra Megalopolis Politics, the societal structure of groups who coexist alongside Ultra Beasts, a (very basic) constructed language, and so much more.

tl;dr — Pandoria is my blue alien hybrid space lesbian blorbo that I love writing very much and have a bit too much worldbuilding for, and you should follow if you are interested.

@viridian-rat is a chill slice-of-life Pokémon IRL roleplay blog that follows a typical "NPC" living an ordinary life in an extraordinary world, offering a more grounded take on the reality of being a Pokémon Trainer. The blog makes this small corner of Kanto feel fresh and alive with rich worldbuilding and a colorful cast of characters. With an aesthetic reminiscent of 90's-era Pokémon, it aims to capture the nostalgic vibe of the early anime while presenting an updated world that’s more in line with the modern-day franchise.
