I'd love to know more about Faure and his relationships with his family and Deuce ^-^
Yeah!! [Visual aids AHAHA]
Currently in his home, there's
[Grandma] <- Faure isn't quite sure he knows her name. She's always just been Grandma. He loves her dearly, and for a good chunk of his early kitten life she was the only non-beastman he really knew. (He'd seen them before, he Does get out, but he didn't really Know Them on a bond level).
[Mom] Eva is his favorite person in the world. What Mama says, goes. He doesn't question her (but he has done the good ol' ".. well, Mama didn't specifically say not to--" loophole when he really wants to play/investigate something he was warned against doing). He struggled for a good long while trying to decide if he could really 'get out' of the family unit and explore the world on his own for a little bit. With her own coaxing and encouragement, he did it! Now he's at RSA! He still calls her weekly at the minimum just to fill her in on his week. She's the first person he goes to when trying to figure out what the weird bubbling feelings he was having were. ( In his mind, his siblings would probably just tease him if he asked about it. Not maliciously, but sibling teasing is sibling teasing and Mama would know what's up, so Mama is the correct answer to his problems.)
[Dad] Roman has been there essentially his whole life; he doesn't know another 'dad'. They don't have a whole lot in common as far as hobbies and interests, but Faure knows Roman is trying so he's trying too, and Roman tries to include him in everything so there's no animosity between them. They Did find a common-ground through music (mostly thanks to Roman's 'cousins'; Scatcat & Crew are there in the background & Faure considers them uncles. Roman's constant singing was one thing, but seeing the 'band' he ran with had Faure really interested in what stuff Roman knew). Once, while Roman was trying to bond with 'just the boys', he brought up magiwheel and Faure got hooked. Faure can't ride on his own though (he has a problem with balance when it comes to Vehicles), so he asks Roman if he can tag along when he hears his dad is going riding.
[Siblings] Emile & Antonia are like his extra limbs. They were "trained" (not in like, a bad way, but 'oh you all work so wonderfully together' practiced) to rely on each other, and even if they fight he'd still defend them in a heartbeat. He probably 'teams up' most with Emile, because if he didn't then Antonia would steamroll them both. Any kind of physical combat practice Faure has is because of Antonia absolutely destroying him in a wrestling match. Any time he almost got the upperhand, she'd feign injury and cry to mom about it and ohhhh he'd be mad for a minute until the energy wears off and then they're best friends again. His thing about grabbing and pulling tails to get attention (or sleeves, if someone doesn't have a tail) is thanks to Antonia; she went a week pretending he didn't exist once and he finally got angry enough to Yoink her. Now any time she ignores him, he goes straight for the tail. Tragically, now that he's older, if he wants attention from someone the first thing he does without even trying the "hey!" sometimes is go right for the tail. (RIP.)
Emile is the eldest triplet and finds it endlessly funny that Faure keeps trying to beat Antonia when even he can't beat her in a wrestling match. And he has actually competed in boxing! "You'd think I'd have a leg up by like, I dunno, actually moving from a piano." The two can talk to each other about a lot of 'I dunno, stuff I guess', but sometimes Faure doesn't completely get what Emile is saying, and Emile will catch on and start throwing in random painters and terms instead of whatever they were truly discussing just to see if he's actually paying attention.
Faure is their "baby brother" as he was the youngest triplet, and rather scrawny. His clinginess to their mom also added to that 'baby' flavor, and they were a little wary about him being the first one to branch out but...okay. They're rather protective of him when he calls back home or sends text messages to chat and it's something negative. "Pretty sure Uncle got a shovel," the first time Faure messages about going to NRC (for the VDC!) and getting elbowed. Because of this he's pretty wary about introducing them to Deuce, later. He's got full confidence Deuce can hold his own against them, physically, but... verbally? Hm.
[ He also loves them Dearly-dearly, and was even a little jealous of their looks. Emile has freckles, which Faure finds charming, and Antonia has the direct looks of their mother down to her mole... and he kind of wishes he had Something. You put the family together, and ignoring Grandma, Faure's aware he kind of sticks out. When he was super young, he used to dislike washing his face if it got speckled with dirt, because at least then he'd have some marks finally. ]
For their first year in Sage Island, they really are just Friends. They only meet at the VDC and are 'online buddies' more than IRL ones, trading magicam messages and venting about school to someone who 'gets it, but isn't There directly for word to spread'. Faure's the one who pushes for more, nudging Deuce in a "hey do you wanna meet up?" way any time they have an aligned day off between school and club activities. Deuce is pretty wary at first because Faure is very obviously Not a NRC student in his eyes, and he's seen (and even joined in) the indirect bullying of RSA students. He knows how mean the others can be, and he doesn't want that energy pointed at the cat. At first it's just shopping, and then it's grabbing lunch, and then Deuce decides that Faure is actually pretty cool despite being a sparkly RSA boy so "if any guys try to bug you, I'll beat them up!" / "You don't have to do that, hahaha,"
Faure's also the one who pushes first for a "Do you want to meet up, and hang out over Summer? We can host you here!" which is the catalyst for them actually getting into a relationship.
Deuce isn't embarrassed or nervous about his relationship that second year, but he is Protective. Again, he knows how the NRC boys can be, so he's hesitant to tell anyone-- Epel does find out, though. Epel always finds out. All it takes is some snuck-in jerky and energy drinks to win Epel's silence ("at least until I figure out how to tell the others, okay dude?") though. It works out great for Faure that they have this 'known party' between them, because Faure really likes hanging out with Epel ("He kinds reminds me of my sister-- don't tell him I said that."). Because Deuce is 'hiding' and kind of terrible at flirting in general (it's ok, Faure is too), Epel doesn't feel like a 'third wheel' most of the time.
Deuce tries to understand the 'fancy stuff' that Faure and his family are into, and is always nervous when he's invited to the Chantelles' home, but then he gets there and it's like. Emile wants to see if he's into boxing. Roman has ex-gang energy that Deuce can connect to (and Deuce always falls into hierarchy gang rules when Roman's around. He finds it Endlessly funny.). Eva is immediately like a second mother to him. Antonia is scary, but then she compliments his eyeliner in a pic that Faure showed her once, and he's being dragged into her room to play makeup and he's a little too scared to fight back (Faure's on their tail coming to his rescue, but they both 'lose' and end up sprawled on her floor waiting for nail polish to dry.)
I'm rambling but !! Faure sees a lot of good in Deuce, and doesn't get scared off when he snaps to delinquency. Given Faure's family history and uncle parade, it'll take a lot more than a scary face and some slang to scare him off, especially if that anger is used in a way meant to Protect someone else. Deuce really likes that Faure seems to 'get it', despite all the froof and dollar signs behind him. Sure Deuce tends to get dragged into Situations because Faure is slightly too curious for his own good, but they're always Fun once the adrenaline runs off and he can appreciate it.
