the thing about spring awakening is that we so often try to assign the characters to 'good' or 'bad' but it ends up just making them more one dimensional because. the whole play kind of revolves around a theme of amorality. melchior beats wendla, but she begged him to. moritz's ghost tries to talk melchior into suicide, but that's how moritz himself died. they're all incredibly complex and hard to assign to good or bad because that's just how it's written. they're fucked up kids and they do things that are fucked up and complicated.
