Extras;

The metamorphic period that chimeras require in order to move into the next stage of life is intensive enough that it could kill them.

Hybrids also suffer this to an extent.

Demons and angels were locked in a war so violent and so unrelenting that if the war was not abruptly ended, they would have all killed each other within ~100 years. There was a third participant in this war, but that is for later.

So basically,

A theologist hotpot of different mythological and occult beasties in a 'Garden of Eden' type setting but said Garden is lowkey ravaged by (biological) warfare, thus meaning it's an all around grab for power (land, money, bodies, etc) by anyone who could grab it with varying effects, and any attempts to form a sort of wide net government is immediately and ruthlessly destabilised

How does this make you feel church boy

When I was younger I had a headworld that I really liked and made a bunch of characters for, until I was chastised by 'close friends' for being an unoriginal child (it was very clearly Hollow Knight (and Rainworld) inspired (with anthros)) and so for the past month during my physical healing I went back and enjoyed my own content. And then I realised the problem with this content was that I did not write enough of it, so I'm rebooting that and remedying that now so at the very least I can give this story the body that it deserves

The moral of the story here is that nothing in the world is purely original. Species originate from other species and some mimic creatures they aren't even related to, because it works. Dishes are based on other foods, many of which are just that food co-opted by another culture to suit their tastes. You and some guy on the other side of the world just had the same thought just now and are about to go about that thought in the exact same way.

Everything has been made already. The important part is to have fun because if you don't, whats the point? Denying yourself to appease others and ONLY to make yourself as marketable and agreeable as possible will kill you slowly for someone that may not even like you that much

I have something pretty cool under my belt. I'm not going to say what, as I don't want to jinx my progress so far, but I'm pretty happy with it as the groundwork is already laid. I get to do visual development again, so that's nice! It means I have to actually be...active again to get ready to generate attention for it, though, which admittedly is not as nice.
