RoyEd Valentine Gift Exchange - 2021
Welcome to the official blog of the new event prizing our favorite dysfunctional couple - RoyEd Valentine Gift Exchange!
With the thought that there are NEVER too many events and opportunities to write more RoyEd fanfics, I’ve decided to launch a new event for that purpose specifically.
So what is FMA Valentine Exchange?
Much like any regular gift exchange, the idea is to give – and receive – gifts to make this year just a little bit sweeter. There is no theme, and no restrictions – except that it would be kind of you to be considerate of your recipient’s wishes and dislikes. For this event, only fanfiction is eligible.
Content can be any rating, and any form – as long as it is age appropriate and in accordance to both parties’ wishes. Please do not request nsfw content if you are a minor, although I do no have any way to regulate this. Please be considerate of your recipient’s limits as well. We are all working on mutual respect here and the idea is to have fun!
Sign up using this form. Signups start right at this moment, and will end at midnight December 22nd. By December 25th you will receive an email with the username and preferences of your recipient – and that’s where the fun starts! You will have the next month (more or less) to create your gift. Gifts are to be between 3k-5k words of length, and should be of decent level (aka, please use a beta reader! If you need help with that, please contact the mods for help).
Works will be posted anonymously on the RoyEd AO3 collection by February 12th. On February 14th the works will be revealed. For a week they will remain anonymous, and then on February 21st the names of the authors will be revealed.
1. Be respectful. Understand and respect your recipient limits, whether it is a matter of preference or an age matter.
2. Be responsible. If you feel you cannot finish your gift on time, please contact the admins and let them know so a replacement (pinch hitter) can be assigned in your place, or the recipient can know that a delay might be in place. We all know the feeling of putting the effort to give someone a gift but not receiving anything back. Not a fun feeling, so let’s try to limit that as much as possible, shall we?
3. Play nice. Please do not reveal yourself to your recipient before the works are revealed. This is not a strict rule, but, hey, it’s part of the fun!
4. Be kind. If you see tropes, themes, etc that you do not like - Do not bash, kink-shame or hate on any participant and/or their likes/dislikes or you will be banned.
5. The most important rule – have fun!
