Always a reblog 😎
“There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.” ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Collected Works
The not so impressed look ...yall know better 🤭🤭🤭
i spent a few years on my main blog posting ‘three good things’ about my day, and i think it’s the thing that’s improved the way my mind works the most.
when i was going through my roughest patches, when i’d eat lunch alone and worry about my dad in hospital, the only highlights i could find were a kind bus driver or eating a tasty microwave meal or the pink shade of the sky on my walk home.
but it was enough. it kept me going when i wasn’t in love with living.
now, my days are full of friends and plans and i’d struggle to narrow down the good things, as opposed to struggling to find them.
but i’ve gotten used to filtering my day with rose-tinted goggles. if i’m going through a blip i know nice food and pretty skies and stranger’s smiles will always be there - that even the days that feel unsurvivable have something to savour about them.
so if you’re struggling, my biggest recommendation would be to make a habit out of seeking the good, no matter how small, and noting it down in a book or on a blog.
not only is it the sweetest diary to look back on, but teaching/forcing yourself to shed the bad and focus on the positives will change your outlook more than u can imagine
my therapist suggested i do this and i‘ve been writing every good thing that i come across every day into a little notebook that i carry around with me and it‘s literally helped me so so much. it forces me to look for the good things that happen every day no matter how bad it seems and i can look through it on particularly bad days and remember those moments and know that more good things will happen in the future.
Practice your gratitude, to notice.
