Art series by Tsuyoshi Anzai appear to be display-based works are actually presentations of kinetic sculptures made with everyday objects inside camera obscura boxes:
The device which Tsuyoshi Anzai invented and named “New Video Player” enables viewers to see an object as an illusory video image where the object is in fact in front of them. Anzai attempts to disrupt the way one unconsciously and passively perceives representation by creating a state where the object is suspended somewhere between reality and illusion.
Using the mechanism of camera obscura, this box-like device projects an image of 3D objects on a screen through a lens. The device produces moving images in a way that is completely different from the conventional video-recording device since the subject itself, namely the kinetic sculpture, is moving inside the device.
In the exhibition, the audience is left with no real access to the objects on display. This experience mirrors the traditional view of the world prevalent throughout history from the ancient Greek philosophy (e.g. Plato’s cave) to modern sci-fi movies (e.g. Matrix, 1999) in that they both assume that the real world is hidden and imperceptible to human senses.

AWAKEN AKIRA
Motion Graphics short from Ash Thorp and XiaoLin Zeng is a labour of love tribute to the legendary anime:
Awaken Akira was created by two friends, Ash Thorp and Zaoeyo (XiaoLin Zeng), who wanted to collaborate on a tribute to the iconic anime, Akira, by Katsuhiro Otomo. It’s creation took over a year, as we had to coordinate our time on it with other project commitments. We hope you find it was well worth the wait and truly enjoy our efforts.
We would like to thank Pilotpriest for the masterful score, as well as Raf Grassetti and The Joelsons for their help on the project. We would also like to give our most sincere thank you to Otomo-san and all the men and women who helped bring Akira to life. Akira has and will always be a timeless and continual muse for all of us.
More background on development can be found at the official Awaken Akira website here
