The protagonist, known as the Arisen, grew up all her life in a peaceful fishing village, until one day a dragon arrives and attacks the people there. Despite being massively outmatched, the Arisen impresses the dragon when she attempts to fight him off and loses her life in the process. The dragon brings the Arisen back to life, and challenges her to find him and slay him. With the help of a soulless humanoid entity known as a Pawn, she embarks on a journey and gets caught up in the political drama of the kingdom along the way.

There are three men and five women available for the player to "romance", however the romance is very shallow, and has very little bearing on the plot. The romance only determines who shows up in a couple of scenes towards the end.

Which character the Arisen romances is decided based on who she interacts with the most, and who has the highest hidden affection metre. As such, it's easy to accidentally romance unintended characters if the player isn't careful. Besides talking to characters, affection can be gained by giving your love interest gifts.

There are a couple of different endings that can be achieved, but in all endings, the Arisen dies in some manner. Additionally, it's possible for love interests to die throughout the game if they are involved in a quest that takes them into battle and they take too much damage.

During the story, the Arisen is accompanied by their Pawn, a customizable human-looking being of mysterious magical origin. During the course of the game, the Arisen's soul will imprint on the Pawn, and at the end, the Pawn will transform physically into the Arisen, even if the Pawn began as a different gender.

There is exactly one instance where the game acknowledges a female player, when a female character is more easily able to befriend a group of all-female bandits. Otherwise, the game assumes that the Arisen is male.

Name: Shepherd's Crossing 2

A law was passed that promised a free parcel of land to anyone who agreed to move here and cultivate it for five years.

1) Get a free house- and free land to boot!

2) The village is full of eligable bachelors and bachelorettes!

3) Be a millionaire practically overnight without lifting a finger!

"Wait a minute now, I didn't say those last two!"

You wave aside the town clerk's objections as visions of your new home dance in your head.

There are five bachelors for the female protagonist to court and marry.

The romance mechanic is simplistic, and plays out more like bartering than actual romance. The player must knit a number of blankets and present them to the bachelor (or his parents) in order to earn the right to their hand in marriage. The number of blankets required increases depending on the social status of the bachelor.

After marriage, the bachelor will move into the protagonist's farm, and the player will give birth to a child one in-game year later.

The game is much more punishing to a female protagonist than a male protagonist, as a female shepherd will be considered a burden, and will be kicked out of the village immediately if she ever runs out of resources. In comparison, the male shepherd is given several chances before he encounters a game over.

Despite the farming sim genre being strongly associated with crop-tending, Shepherd's Crossing 2 focuses largely on animal husbandry.

Shepherd's Crossing 2 is the sequel to the first game, Shepherd's Crossing, but the previous game lacks a female protagonist.

Name: Code Vein 2

During the course of the story, the player character is mistaken as attempting to assassinate a woman called Josee Anjou, and is sentenced to be executed. Realizing that she's innocent, Josee saves her by claiming that the player is her fiancee, and then the two are wed in a fake ceremony.

Despite the "marriage" being fake, Josee quickly falls for the player as they travel together, and the player is shown to quietly reciprocate.

During the course of the story, Josee sacrifices her life in order to stave off the end of the world, but if the player pursues the second and third endings of the game, then both Josee and the world are able to be saved. If this is done, it's heavily implied that Josee and the player character will get married for real.

Besides Josee, two other female characters, Lou and Holly, fall for the protagonist, but Josee is the only one that the player can end up with.

Although a female protagonist is playable, and the protagonist is referred to with gender-neutral pronouns, it is noticable at various points that the game is expecting her to be a man. She has extremely masculine animations, such as spreading her legs when sitting, characters often look over her head when speaking to her as if looking at someone taller, only women show romantic interest in her, and in one early scene a voice in a crowd can be heard referring to her as a guy.

Code Vein 2 is the sequel to the first Code Vein game, but is set in a different continuity with different lore and characters. It's not required to play the first game in order to enjoy this one.

Name: Galaxy Princess Zorana

There are two "main" romance options, a woman named Kxenia and a man named Vasily. Kxenia is the sole romance option that Zorana can marry for love, as while Vasily can fall in love with Zorana, he can only remain a concubine, and Zorana will have to marry someone else for political purposes.

In addition to Kxenia and Vasily, there is a large cast of characters of both men and women that Zorana can enter into an arranged marriage with. Some of them have endings that imply that Zorana and her husband or wife genuinely fell in love, but not all. Keeping Vasily as a concubine usually prevents these romantic endings, or at least complicates them.

Same-sex marriage is considered normal in Zorana's culture, and the issue of producing heirs with a potential wife is not a problem thanks to her people's advanced cloning technology.

Zorana may adopt an orphaned child she's related to during the course of the game, but doing this complicates certain romance options. She is also mentioned to have biological children in many of her marriage endings, but her relationship with these children varies.

Galaxy Princess Zorana is the sequel to Long Live The Queen by the same developer. However, it is a stand-alone story only connected by the basic premise of a princess training to become queen, and you don't need to play the first game to enjoy this one.

Zorana cannot be customized, but she can earn outfits that the player can equip which boost her stats.

Juliet's sole love interest is her boyfriend Nick. Nick is bitten by a zombie in the opening scenes of the game, but Juliet is able to save him by decapitating him and keeping his head alive with a magic ritual. She carries his head around for the rest of the game, but the situation causes friction between the couple due to Nick wishing to die normally and not wanting to live out the rest of his life as a head.

Despite this, the two remain in love and committed, and at the end of the game, Nick sacrifices what remains of his life to save the day and stop the zombie apocalypse. He is rewarded for this by being placed in a new body, but the body he gets is that of Juliet's elderly martial arts instructor. The couple decide to continue their relationship regardless.

The game's main villain, Juliet's schoolmate Nick, is also in love with Juliet, but he is never treated as a serious rival for Juliet's affections, and she barely even knows who he is.

The game has themes of comedic sexual exploitation, and although Juliet is legally an adult when the game begins, the game emphasizes her status as a highschooler alongside her sexual attractiveness. There are also many implications that her martial arts instructor is a pedophile, and it's revealed that he would do things like trick Juliet into wearing childish underwear when training with him when she was younger. This is treated as comedic by the game. Caution is advised to players who may find such content uncomfortable.

Romance stories for each character are attached to cards that the player must pull from a gacha pool. Cards are also used as equippable items to power up characters in battle. Any character can be romanced with no restrictions as long as the player has his cards, but due to limited free resources in the game, it's advised to pick a favourite guy and focus on obtaining his cards.

Valkyrie Heart is an R18+ otome game containing sex scenes attached to the highest rarity cards and through the main story. The NSFW version can only be found for download on the developer's official website. Additionally, there is a SFW version with all the sex cut out, which is available for download on the Android and Apple app stores.

Each romance option aside is tied to a specific stat, which the player can raise by doing certain activities and working jobs. The money that the player earns from work can be used to buy clothes, which help in earning affection from the boys.

In addition to all the romance routes, there are a number of platonic endings with the player character's female friends. Getting these platonic endings awards the player character with an item on subsequent playthroughs that makes stat raising easier.

Afftection with all characters is gained via gifting characters bottles of nectar and ambrosia, and inviting them to bathe with you and go fishing. Characters may also require additional steps to complete their romance arc, such as brewing certain potions, or going to a specific location.

Hades 2 is the sequel to the first Hades game, which takes place before Melinoe is born and focuses on her brother Zagreus. It is recommended to have played the first game for a complete experience, but not entirely necessary.

In each area of the game, there exists certain NPCs that are part of the Rapport system, through which you can increase your affection with the NPC with quests, gifts, and dialogue. Most Rapport NPCs only have a platonic relationship with the player, but some will develop feelings for the player and may embark on a romantic relationship with her.

Relationships are not heavily tracked by the game, and the player can romance as many Rapport NPCs as she wants with no repercussions. Each Rapport NPC provides items and currency as rewards.

The majority of the romantic npcs are women, but there are a small number of men that have romantic tones to a lesser degree. Characters can be romanced regardless of gender.

There is some reactivity to a female player character, with some dialogue playing out slightly differently than her male counterpart. However, the game also has some moments where the player is assumed to be and referred to as a man.

The game's English translation is understandable, but generally considered to be of poor quality due to machine translation being used by the localisation team.

There are two romance options, Hinako's childhood friend Shu, and her mysterious fiance Kotoyuki.

The game is a feminist fantasy showing Hinako's turmoil over whether she should run away from an arranged marriage or accept her fate and submit to the sexist expectations of society. The point of the game is not to pursue either of her suitors but to explore Hinako's psyche and help maintain her independence.

The game has multiple endings, and the majority of them are bad and result in her ending up in a loveless marriage. However, Shu and Kotoyuki each have an ending where Hinako realizes that she has feelings for one of them, and things are handled in a way that neither turn abusive, with the two instead become loving partners. Hinako does not marry either of them in these endings, but makes it clear that there is potential for a future.

To get any of the good endings, a bad ending must be gotten at least once, with further endings only available on a subsequent playthrough.

The game is part of the long-running Silent Hill series, but it is a standalone story and playing previous entries is not required to enjoy it.

Name: Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 3rd Story

After Bambi has to move away to another city, the three are devastated, but Ruka vows to search for a magic flower called the fairy key, which is said to grant wishes and reunite separated lovers.

Years later, Bambi moves back to her hometown to begin attending high school and is reunited with the Sakurai brothers. However, they seem to have a troubled home life, and Bambi must juggle school and work while learning about the young men that her childhood friends became.

There are six regular romance options that can be met at school through raising their associated stats, as well as five "secret" romance options that the player can encounter under unique circumstances.

Gameplay is largely the same as the previous two games, in which the player must juggle her school and dating schedule in order to raise stats, but the systems have received several quality of life overhauls. The player no longer has to compete with other girls for her chosen guy, as the rivalry mechanic has been replaced by two loyal and supportive friends with no interest in any of the bachelors. In addition, the bomb mechanic is significantly less harsh, and will no longer trigger for characters that the player isn't dating.

A unique gameplay mode in this game is 3P mode, in which Bambi and two other boys group up and become close, with the two boys developing a rivalry for her affection. Bambi can go on group dates with the boys and trigger special group events, as well as obtain special endings depending on how she handles things. 3P mode only occurs between designated pairs of boys, such as the Sakurai brothers, and only within the regular pool of romance options. 3P mode is not mandatory, and the player can solo date any of the options as normal.

Two of the secret romance options, Bambi's homeroom teacher and a professional novelist, are adult men, but neither officially date her until after she has turned 18 and graduated at the end of the game.

Characters from the previous two games make cameos throughout 3rd Story, but they don't significantly affect the plot, and you can fully enjoy the game without playing either of the previous ones.

The game has never received an official English release, but guides and fan translations can be found online.

Name: Vampire Knight DS

Unbeknownst to the mortal world, all the attendees in the Night Class are vampires, and in the course of her role as Guardian of the school, she grows closer to the mysterious individuals she surrounds herself with.

Notes:

The story is set in the world of the Vampire Knight anime and manga franchise, with the player taking on the role of the female protagonist. However, the game is an alternate universe with its own continuity, and Yuki is free to pursue guys and experience events regardless of what is canon in the source material. It is recommended to be familiar with the setting of Vampire Knight in order to understand the game fully.

There are six regular love interests to pursue, plus a "secret" seventh route who requires special conditions to be unlocked. All are students of the Night class except two: Zero Kiryu, who is a fellow Guardian and member of the Day Class, and Toga Yagari, the secret character, who is a member of the faculty.

Each love interest is associated with an in-game stat, such as Affection, Work, or Knowledge, and Yuki must juggle her school schedule to train those stats in order to romance her chosen character. She can also play mini-games and buy clothes to assist in raising her standing with the characters. Depending on how well she does, she can get one of three endings for each guy.

One of the romancable characters, Kaname Kuran, is at first revealed in the manga to be Yuki's biological brother, but then revealed later to not truly be her brother and instead a distant ancestor. Incestuous couplings between vampires is culturally common in the setting of Vampire Knight, so this is not considered a dealbreaker.

The game never received an official English release, although English patches and translations were made by dedicated fans.

Name: Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side: 2nd Season

When the protagonist was a child, she experienced puppy love with a boy who she was then separated from after her family moved away. Before she left, the boy met with her in a lighthouse and read her a fairytale about a man waiting for his lost mermaid lover in a lighthouse, and promised they would meet again.

Years later, the protagonist has moved back in order to attend a local high school but has forgotten the name and face of the boy. She then must juggle high school, work, and dating, as she works towards meeting her true love at the lighthouse.

The Playstation 2 version of the game is called 2nd Kiss instead of 2nd Season.

There are 8 regular romance options for the player character to date, as well as 3 "secret" romance options that are encountered and dated under unique circumstances.

The second game in the Tokimeki Memorial Girls Side series. It retains the same mechanics of the first game with a new story and cast, including the rivalry and bomb mechanic. All TokiMemo games are set in the same continuity, and some characters from the previous game are mentioned or show up in the background of scenes as an easter egg, but the story is standalone and you do not need to play the first game to enjoy this one.

A unique mechanic introduced to the second game is the Accidental Kiss, where the protagonist makes a series of choices that results in her crashing into a male character and accidentally sharing her first kiss with them. This opens up unique dialogue, provides unique artwork, and lowers the stat requirements for achieving that character's ending.

One of the romance options is Wakaouji-sensei, who is the protagonist's homeroom teacher. Much like Himuro-sensei from the first game, romancing him requires the protagonist to attend extracurricular activities, and he will not agree to date the protagonist until she has turned 18 and graduated.

No version of the game has ever received an official English language release, but the game has a dedicated western fandom, and fan translations and guides exist.

Name: Tokimeki Memorial: Girl's Side First Love

When the player character was a child, she fell in love with a boy. Before moving away to another town, she met the boy in an abandoned church one last time, where they read a fairytale about a Prince and a Princess torn apart by the Princess' father. The boy vowed he would meet her again in the church one day, only for the player to forget him after so many years.

After a timeskip, the player character returns in order to attend high school, where she meets a number of handsome classmates. For the next three years, the player must juggle school, part-time work, club activities, and rivals during her quest to reunite with her prince in the church.

In total, there are 11 possible bachelors for the player to end up with, although there are less in the original PS2 release. The Nintendo Switch release adapts the Nintendo DS version, which added additional characters.

The Bachelors are separated into the regular cast, who attend school with the player and have the most prominence in the story, and "Secret Characters", who don't attend school and are met through other means, such as going shopping during a particular time period.

Each of the regular bachelors are associated with stats such as "Art" or "Fitness", and the main character must manage her schedule to train those stats, as well as asking her chosen boy on dates in order to achieve their ending. Each of the regular bachelors also have a specific clothing style that they like, and the player can go shopping on weekends to buy clothes for dates in order to earn additional affection.

In addition to high school students, there are two faculty members amongst the bachelors: Himuro-Sensei, the player's homeroom teacher, and Principal Amanohashi. Unlike the students, you don't "date" them, instead building affection with them through extra-curricular activities, and they will confess their feelings after the player character has graduated.

There is a Rivalry system, where some of the regular cast has another girl that has feelings for them, and may steal the guy away if the player doesn't manage the situation correctly. In addition, there is a "Bomb" system, where undated boys may get angry at the player character and "explode", which wipes out affection for all characters and locks the player out of any romance. If a Bomb appears, the player can ask out the boy it's attached to in order to defuse it.

The majority of the cast have multiple endings, and CG artwork found in specific circumstances that the player can collect in an album.

To date, no versions of the game have ever received an official English localisation, although English fan translations exist.

Name: Roommates

The best dorm (that you can afford) at the greatest college (that would accept you) in the entire country (Not counting the parts that aren't here). Okay, maybe we're overselling it.

Either way, you're invited along with either Max or Anne as they make their way through the first year of their college experience.

They'll share their dorm life with four other tenants as they pick their class load, pick their jobs, and maybe even pick someone to have a little extra curricular fun with.

Neither of them can get through college without you, so who will you help? Rock god Max or Book-smart Anne? Between bitter tenured professors and a ridiculously distracting student body, it's going to take everything they've got just to make it to year two.

The female player character, Anne, has three men and one woman available as a romance option; Dominic, a stickler RA who values order and rules, Rakesh, a ditzy and sweet artist from India, Max, a free-wheeling rocker who frequently clashes with Dominic, and Isabella, a fun-loving party girl.

Players must manage Anne's classes and schedule in order to build stats that correspond to each love interest, while also spending time with them and helping said characters complete their personal storyline.

Anne is a distinct character from Max, who is the male player character, so there is a large amount of reactivity from the game towards her.

The game was previously available on Android, but that version was taken down due to google's policies against sexual content.

It's also impossible to see all the content in just one playthrough, with so many ways to customize the characters.

There are six romance options available to the female playable character, three women and three men.

The playable female character is Elenor, an elf enslaved by the Amazons who serves the titular Loren. Slavery is normalized in Amazon society, but regardless if she is romanced or not, Loren will change her opinions on this as the story progresses, and she will take an anti-slavery stance later in the game.

Amazon society is also highly misandrist, and Elenor expresses a hatred of men early on, but this does not stop her from being able to romance male characters. Her views on men will improve as the game goes on even if she doesn't romance one.

A large expansion was released for the game which significantly fleshed out the story and characters. Some romance options are only available if the player gets the expansion.

Depending on player choice, it is possible for Elenor or other characters, including her love interest, to die at certain points in the game.

The game is no longer available on Android due to google banning the developer for sexual content.
