During the course of the story, the player character is mistaken as attempting to assassinate a woman called Josee Anjou, and is sentenced to be executed. Realizing that she's innocent, Josee saves her by claiming that the player is her fiancee, and then the two are wed in a fake ceremony.

Despite the "marriage" being fake, Josee quickly falls for the player as they travel together, and the player is shown to quietly reciprocate.

During the course of the story, Josee sacrifices her life in order to stave off the end of the world, but if the player pursues the second and third endings of the game, then both Josee and the world are able to be saved. If this is done, it's heavily implied that Josee and the player character will get married for real.

Besides Josee, two other female characters, Lou and Holly, fall for the protagonist, but Josee is the only one that the player can end up with.

Although a female protagonist is playable, and the protagonist is referred to with gender-neutral pronouns, it is noticable at various points that the game is expecting her to be a man. She has extremely masculine animations, such as spreading her legs when sitting, characters often look over her head when speaking to her as if looking at someone taller, only women show romantic interest in her, and in one early scene a voice in a crowd can be heard referring to her as a guy.

Code Vein 2 is the sequel to the first Code Vein game, but is set in a different continuity with different lore and characters. It's not required to play the first game in order to enjoy this one.

Name: Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask

Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask is based on an anime series of the same name. You can play either as a teenaged boy or a teenaged girl, named by the player. The two scenarios are very similar and basically follow the same story: you live in modern-day Tokyo and one day discover a strange symbol in an old storehouse. As a result, you are transported to medieval Japan. You encounter the half-demon Inuyasha, who introduces you to Kagome Higurashi, the heroine of the anime series. Together you embark on a journey to retrieve scattered pieces of the Sacred Jewel and to find a way to get back home.

The game is based on the Inuyasha anime, and features fully animated and voice-acted cutscenes. It is recommended to have experienced the manga or anime before playing this game, although certain things do get explained due to the player character being new to the time period.

The female player character, default named Kururugi Kaname, is a girl from modern Tokyo that attends a different school to the character Kagome, but lives nearby.

The game features a relationship mechanic where Kaname can spend time with any of the characters and grow closer to them. Spending time with Inuyasha or Miroku will result in them and Kaname getting crushes on eachother, and will also lead to Kagome and Sango, their canon respective love interests, becoming jealous.

In addition to Inuyasha and Miroku, Inuyasha's brother Sesshomaru is a romance option. His romance is more of a challenge to do, as he spends less time with the protagonist and must be sought out.

Despite these romantic undertones being present, the game remains canon compliant. Regardless of who she chooses to pursue, Kaname will return to her world at the end of the game, breaking off whatever romance could have developed. Inuyasha and Miroku assumedly return their focus to Kagome and Sango, while Sesshomaru is implied to be still carrying a torch for Kaname.

There is a lot of reactivity to a female player, and story beats and character interactions will play out differently than if she were her male counterpart.

Players in Warframe take the form of Tenno, special humans who are able to use biomechanical combat mechs to fight against alien enemies. The Tenno spends the majority of her time in her various warframes, but playing through the main story will eventually unlock the ability to leave her suit entirely. At this point, the player will be able to pick their character's gender and appearance. However, there is no narrative reactivity to a female Tenno.

Warframe is an action-based co-op game with an epic narrative and many story expansions to go with it. The expansion "Warframe 1999" has the player character travel to another timeline in search of the arc's villain, where she encounters a friendly faction called The Hex, all of whom are romancable by characters of either gender

There are three men and three women available to romance. The majority of romance takes place in the Kinematik Instant Messanger, a system that emulates a 1990's internet chat service and web browser. The player character can get to know their preferred character and increase affection by picking the correct dialogue options, which will eventually graduate to real-life (in the game) dates and a committed relationship.

Two members of the Hex, Arthur and Aoi, were in a romantic relationship in the past, but they broke up due to personality differences. When the Tenno meets them, their relationship is completely platonic.

Story expansions in Warframe cannot be skipped to, and must be played chronologically. It takes quite a long time of playing to reach the Warframe 1999 story, so it's not recommended to start the game for the romance unless you already like the style of gameplay. On top of that, it's not likely that the romance options will have the same level of presence and story relevance in future expansions. However, the game is free-to-play, so there are no financial downsides to trying it out.

There are twenty-eight romancable characters in total: thirteen men, fourteen women, and one nonbinary person. All characters are bisexual and open to romance regardless of gender. The majority of the romance options are available from the start of the game, but some are not available until later in the story.

Players can date and eventually marry their chosen romance option after they reach level 8 in friendship. You can date multiple people, but can only marry one person.

After marriage, your spouse will move onto your farm, and you may have up to two children with them. Your child's appearance is determined by your spouse. Children will eventually age up to their teens.

Some of the marriage candidates are mermaids and one merman; romancing them requires first helping them gain legs, and after marriage they will occasionally go back to visit the ocean, but will always come back after a day or so.

One romance option, Suki, is a divorcee and has a daughter from her previous marriage. If Suki is married, she will leave her daughter with her sister and move in with you alone.

Each character starts with a different fighting style, but the player may equip other fighting styles freely as the game progresses while still maintaining their chosen appearance.

The female player character, known as the Spirit Monk, has two romance options available to her: The mysterious female masked assassin Silk Fox, and the male Sky, a charming rogue who mourns his dead wife and child.

The game favours the female love interests, and it is common to accidentally romance Silk Fox when attempting to romance Sky, as platonic-seeming dialogue with Silk Fox may be read as romantic by the game. Taking care not to be too friendly with Silk Fox is advised if the player wants to romance Sky.

There are multiple endings for the game, and the love interests will become good or evil depending on the path the player takes.

The game is set in a fantasy Asian culture that largely takes cues from ancient China, but also invents many details, and mashes aspects from elsewhere in Asia together in a way that may come across as insensitive to modern players. However, the game was an early landmark for Asian and LGBT representation in video games, and it was considered quite progressive for the time period.

There are eighteen men and ten women available for the female player to romance. Many romance options have exclusive quests and content if you pursue them, but not all romance options have these.

Players can go on dates, give gifts, get married, and eventually have children with their spouses. However, the children never age out of the baby stage and just lie in the crib like objects that you need to feed every so often.

The player is able to divorce their spouse and marry someone else, however some characters will marry other NPCs if both are unromanced, and these characters cannot be romanced at that point.

One male character, Aadit, will abandon the player character at a certain point in the story if he is married, even if they have children together. Another male character, the ladykiller wannabe Albert, will continue flirting with other women even if married. One male character, Antoine, has a romantic crush on the character Dr. Xu, which will not subside even if either are married.

A female character, Ginger, has a terminal illness and will eventually die after a certain number of years have passed in game, but the player can prolong her life indefinitely by collecting materials to treat her illness.

In addition to the romancable cast, one female character named Merlin can be taken on a date as a tutorial for the romance mechanics, but at the end of the date she determines she is asexual and is unavailable from that point on.

The female player character has a small amount of reactivity, but not much outside of being referred to with female pronouns.

The first Mass Effect game to feature a female Shepard in prominent promotional material, although the male Shepard still takes precedence.

As in Mass Effect 2, Shepard can continue her romance from the previous games, provided the player has a save file on the same device. The exception to this is Jacob, who if romanced will reveal that he cheated on Shepard between games, and he plans to settle down with his affair partner. Thane's romance technically remains intact, but he will die during the story regardless of character actions.

Kaidan's romance can be resumed from the first game, depending on player actions.

There is one brand new character introduced available to female characters, a nerdy female comm specialist called Samantha Traynor.

The player can also have minor encounters with some of the single members of the squad, but these are not considered full romances, and some of them are only available in the Citadel DLC pack.
