Cloud

    My friend told me how I tackle things is like putting things into a cloud, and what I feel like doing is a matter of reaching into that cloud, and pulling something out. It’s usually what’s closest to me. Thinking about it, people are kind of like that too, aren’t they? Everyone’s just being plopped into a cloud of relationships on their own, and when they want to hang out, they’ll just pull the closest one to them. When you reach out to your cloud, who do you go for? I mean, it isn’t fair playing favorites, but it happens sometimes, right? I’m okay with that, but…

...I want to be the one you reach out to the most.

Encouragement

   How is it that you’re able to reach out to others in your time of need?  And when you do, millions of others are there to comfort you? I want to reach out to you too. But I’m scared--scared that everyone else’s voices will drown me out, making it meaningless. I don’t want to sound like those people who say it. A person like me, who hardly speaks to anyone, will just be ostracized...

   You’re pretty strong, you know. You don’t need my encouragement to back you up. You have plenty others, as well--I hope their words reach you, and pull you out of the deepest, darkest depths. And when you find yourself stuck again, take that courage of yours, and reach out again.

Kintsugi

  Hey, have you tried kintsugi? It’s the art of repairing broken pottery. It’s simply fascinating. You use liquid gold, or silver, and try and patch it up again. And when it’s all done, you’ve got yourself a fine piece of art. It’s different each time you try it too--for you never know how differently pottery breaks, and how it’ll look patched up. It must take great effort to repair that broken pottery, and it must take even more effort to have it look so beautiful, and so shiny~ If it were fixed...

I wonder if a broken soul would shine just as brightly.

Ticket

    They say, “Click it or Ticket”--what a constricting saying. Tickets are much more than that. Don’t think of the ticket that’s a chore, the one that you have to pay off. Why is that a ticket, anyways? I feel like it’s more of a bill, don’t you? Tickets are meant to grant you access. To what, you ask? Why, anywhere you want! From high above the sky, to below the waters, a whole new world of opportunity awaits. You gave me your tickets to another world. I cherished the memories with my heart--and now it’s your turn. It may be a hefty cost, but I’m willing to pay for it. Now, step through those doors…

...And claim your ticket to freedom.

Scarf

    It’s getting pretty cold recently. I’ve gotten used to using a scarf. I find it looks odd on me, but you complimented me on it, so I guess I should thank you. This scarf was actually meant for someone else, you see. She too, was prone to cold--no one’s a particular exception. That was then--and here it remains, never to be delivered. It’s a memento now--a memento that I occasionally wear. It’s warm, and a bit fuzzy--it tickles a little. Thinking about it, I wonder if she’d feel the same way, on receiving this scarf--but perhaps it’s useless to think about that now. But wearing this scarf right now, I can’t help but wonder…

...I wonder if she’s warm right now.

Wind-Up

     Some people are just late bloomers. They’re poked at, made fun of, and underestimated. Well, don’t you worry. I won’t cry. I’m just a bit slower than the rest, but that just means I have to work harder. Everyone else is achieving the same results that I worked so hard for, like clockwork. Everyone’s up to date, but I’m a bit outdated. Maybe that’s why I’m a bit slow? Maybe, just maybe, someone out there who could help me. Would you care to turn the key? Wind me up…

    Despite this stigma, you still stuck around my side. Although I admit I have quirks, you always accepted me with open arms. Despite what everyone said, you decided to ignore all that, seeing me for who I truly am. Despite my...whimsical nature, you, as if on a whim of your own, somehow align your whims with mine. Although we may have differences in opinion sometimes, or I’m just acting weird as usual again, one thing’s for sure…

Teacher

    “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Hearing that, I never actually knew what I wanted to be. I wasn’t particularly good at anything. Watching you from afar, I saw you shine in everything you did. You didn’t know everything, so you asked me for help. I didn’t know how to put it into words, but helping you out, I felt so happy. Maybe I was meant to just support others. Maybe that’s why I’m still here, in the classroom. I’ll do my best for you, you whose dreams are yet to be shaped. Until then…

I’ll guide you down the proper path.

    I was once like you--a dreamer, with visions of grandeur. Now that I’ve grown a bit older, that vision’s become a bit different that what I thought it would be. No longer do I want to be in the spotlight--I would rather support someone from the side--and that someone is you. I’m glad I met you. In you, I see a dream that we both can realize together. I promise, I’ll work hard for you, and support you, until the very end. Surely someday, you’ll realize that dream…

Game

    Lately, I feel like I haven’t been talking to you. Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder what brought us together in the first place. Perhaps if we found something together, we could enjoy it together, laugh together, and maybe live again together...but maybe it’s too late for that now. I found a game the other day--games really are no fun all alone, you know. Even the ones where you’re playing by yourself--if you even have one person watching you, it’s a whole world of difference. I wonder if you would have ever watched me play anything. But I think instead, would’ve liked to play together with you--no, I definitely want to play with you. Maybe someday, I’ll come over, and ask:

“Let’s play a game!”

Clarity

     I tried contacts once. The keyword here is tried. They told me that it’s more about putting it on your eyes, instead of putting it in your eyes. That advice...didn’t help at all. I tried this for 2 hours--I just couldn’t do it. I think glasses are more convenient anyways--you can take them on and off whenever you feel like it. I don’t feel like I always need my glasses, anyways. I bet you’d like me better when I didn’t wear my glasses, but I can’t really see that far without them. A world in which I couldn’t see your face from afar--I feel a slight stinging in my chest. If I were forced to put on contacts...

...Would you put them on for me everyday?

Solidarity

“You could do it, if you tried.”

That’s what I feel from you. You’re so inspiring, and I’ve only just met you. I feel like I can do anything when I’m with you. How is it you can juggle two conflicting interests at the same time eludes me. I wish I could achieve such...duality. And you know what? I’m going to try harder. One day, when we reach our goals, let’s meet up again. But until then…

Stillness

    Everyone has that feeling--one where you feel like you’re just stuck in your life, while the rest are moving on ahead. Standing still isn’t a bad thing, once in a while. Maybe it’s just what you need. Perhaps taking some time to reflect on yourself is in order. Look now--what’s around you? Who’s around you? I hope you’re not in a dangerous place to be standing still in. Are you feeling the wind flow against you, as the world keeps moving? Or are you enjoying the comfort of the indoors? It’s nice to take breaks, once in a while…

...but don’t forget to start moving again.

Frost

Sometimes, I think about going to work early.

There’s a nice cool breeze in the morning,

Enjoyed by no one else than the early birds.

Once in a while, you hear songbirds chirping--

It’s a peaceful time of day--there’s less traffic,

Giving you a sense of not needing to hurry.

Maybe I’ll stop by a nearby coffee shop,

And buy something to drink.

But it’s too late for that now--

I have to get to work.

The remains of the once cool morning,

Are but distant memories,

Wiped from the windows of my car.

The frost melts onto the sidewalk.

As I start my car and drive to work,

I think to myself,

“It’s too dang hot.”

                                                         Writing

It’s been a while since I’ve actually written anything. The other day, my friend said, “Your writing’s just as bad as high school.” Looking at it now, I suppose it is a bit...juvenile. It’s a big difference, writing things out--and in pen, for any of all things. Once in a while, it isn’t so bad, to practice penmanship. You had to write an essay on paper, not too long ago. Did you do well? If your writing’s as bad as mine--pray for your score. I wanted to write a letter to you one day, but first…

...I’m going to to have to write better first.

Duality

If you were torn between one thing or the other, which would you choose? Hmm, me? I think if I were to choose…

I’d want both.

Why choose between one or the other? If you feel so strongly about both..how far are you willing to go to have both? I think it’s a matter of effort. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with choosing just one--We all have those kinds of choices, and I think there’s a bit of strength in either choosing one or the other, or choosing both. There’s also choosing neither, as well, now that I think about it… I think, if you want to be able to have both, it’ll take lots and lots of effort...

...You’d better be prepared for it.

Sincerity

    It’s been a long time, since I’ve felt so good. Being together with you, I felt I could be so...honest, and free. Maybe all it took was just..someone else for me to open up to others. I know it’s not really a burden to you, but I feel like it is, so I’m sorry--oops, I did it again, I apologized. It’s like lately, all I’ve been doing is apologizing. But you know what? There’s another way to go about it--one that’s more...wholesome. Even though it might be awkward sometimes, people will feel a lot better hearing that, instead of “I’m sorry”. I had a nice chat with another friend the next day--you really are able to talk to anyone, aren’t you? I’m a bit jealous, but sometimes, I feel like it rubs off on me. So, instead of apologizing, I’m going to say this:

I’m glad I met you on that fateful day.
