reblog not for a “bigger sample size” but because polls like this are a fun way to help people reinforce their own self-concept and passing it along so that other people can also have the opportunity to strengthen their sense of self by pressing a button is a cool and nice thing to do
eyesight poll!
this post from @all-vampires-are-gay made me curious. I tried to look up the distribution of eyesight prescriptions and weirdly couldn't find any info, so I'm making this poll to ask about people's eyesight. All responses and shares much appreciated! I've put .99's on the option so it's clear which to click if your diopter is a whole number.
I've made the scale in diopters as that seems to be most common. To clarify, positive numbers are hyperopia/farsightedness/longsightedness, and negative numbers are myopia/nearsightedness/shortsightedness.
What's your eyesight like?
+10 D or higher
Between +8 D and +9.99 D
Between +5 D and +7.99 D
Between +2 D and +4.99 D
Between 0 D and +1.99 D
My eyesight is perfect actually
Between 0 D and -1.99 D
Between -2 D and -4.99 D
Between -5 D and -7.99 D
Between -8 D and -9.99 D
Lower than -10 D

My Tumblr.
It's coming up to 15 years since I started my journey on Tumblr, I think I must be one of the few that has been with the platform so long- and still posting regularly- but, and it''z 's a big but.
I lost the sight in my left eye in 2022, it really didn't impact my life as suck, hover my right eye has started to deteriorate. I have started a course of steroids, 14 a day, and have bee referred to a specialist, the doctor I spoke to is hopeful it will stop it getting any worse for now. My peripheral is being affected most, but it is also a strain reading.
From here on in I will mainly be reposting from through the years rather than trying to rewrite posts, this will stop me putting any more strain on my eye. If they can't stop it getting worse Scotianostra will be no more. I wont deactivate so it will be here dor as long as Tumblr exist.
I've booked a wee holiday to Benidorm with a freind at the evd of February, during that week I will be taking a break from here, but should be back up and running the second week in March.
Thanks to all my followers and anyone looking infor the support over the years

There is no sign that says "you must suffer this much to be disabled".
If you cannot function in society to the same level as every single other person around you without an external device or accommodations, you are disabled.
Yes, if you require glasses, you are disabled. It doesn't matter that you think it's not "bad enough" to be considered a disability. There is no required badness level for a disability. You literally require an external manufactured device to be able to function in society. You are disabled.
Yes, even if it's "only" because you're getting older, and you need reading glasses now.
One thing that people seem to continually forget about Yautja is that they don't see in the visible light spectrum that humans do. They see in infrared. They have a specialized organ in their faces with a heat-sensative membrane, which allows them to perceive thermal radiation. To that extent, they don't see light or colors, they see the heat that radiates from those colors. They don't have words to describe different shades like chartreuse or olive, but they do have names for the slightest temperature changes.
I wish Badlands would have explored that detail more.
