mulciber is pretty much forbidden. mary knows that she shouldn’t want him but she does and she hates herself for it. she tries to distract herself from thinking about him but she can’t. she pushes her feelings deep down inside of herself as she knows everyone would hate her if they found out. mulciber is the forbidden fruit that mary so desperately wants to get a taste of.

on the one hand mulciber interests mary. she wants to know why he has so much hatred inside of him and why he feels the need to be mean to everyone who crosses his path. on the other hand he scares mary. he’s the only person that scares mary. she tries to keep out of his way and if she does have to spend time with him she makes sure that the room is full of other people. she wants to get to know him but at the same time she doesn’t want to be anywhere near him. it’s complicated.
