Chat can we talk about when Zoey and Mira find out Rumi is a demon she’s the one the immediate internalize it and just gave up?Like when I first watched the movie it was so off seeing her just..give up that easily? “I knew it. I knew it was too good to be true” I really thought Zoey would be saying that yk?! But instead she was the accuser.
Then she go to where Gwi-ma was wiggling his nasty little tongue in everyone’s ears. And gwi-ma just gave nothing to MiraZ. No ‘sell your soul to be loved’ like it was nothing. Just a “you don’t deserve a family. You never half”
Her real parents never wanted her never saw her as theirs, never held space for her without conditions or straight-up rejection. She grew up knowing that emptiness, that constant proof she didn’t belong in the place that was supposed to be filled with love. So she left. She found Rumi and Zoey, found Huntrix, poured every desperate piece of herself into it.
This time it would be different. These were her choices, her people. They’d choose her back. They’d trust her, see her, keep her.
But Rumi’s half demon, and she’s hidden it the entire time. Every late night talk, every shared stage, every promise they were missing this massive truth because Rumi didn’t trust Mira enough to say it.
The one person who was supposed to understand what it felt like to be unwanted, to be different, kept the biggest part of herself locked away from Mira. Like Mira wasn’t worth the risk. Like Mira wasn’t safe enough, close enough, family enough.
So now it’s all gone. Her blood family didn’t want her. Chosen family didn’t trust her. She’s back to square one, except worse because this time she really believed. She let herself hope. She let herself need them. And they still turned out the same as everyone else. distant, guarded, unwilling to fully let her in.
No one’s ever going to choose her without holding something back. No one’s ever going to look at all of her the messy, the broken, the parts that don’t fit and decide she’s worth keeping anyway. She’s just… leftover. Always has been. Always will be.
