ik i've been laughing at it but i do find the contrast in the lines from grover about him being a satyr and tyson being "ocularly impaired" instead of being a cyclops interesting. like the more "pc" label to use for him is satyr bc that's what he is but the "pc" term for tyson is something other than cyclops as if cyclops is a "bad word"

when the mist wears off and tyson's eyes revert back to one singular eye, annabeth gets visibly uncomfortable and says he should reapply the mist and tyson realizes they see his one eye and he gets frantic to cover it up and...mask essentially. then when the mist is all out and he can't reapply, you can see them all get kinda upset and uncomfortable. like it's so sad and a little hard to watch because tyson gets like very obviously distraught about it and tries reapplying over and over again but he can't, meanwhile percy and annabeth just avert their eyes like he's hard to look at.

like. back on the princess andromeda, luke says "if it isn't my two favorite cousins." and tyson interjects to say "three. i'm a son of poseidon, too." and luke steps forward and says "that's funny, 'cause poseidon doesn't have any other half-blood sons." and tyson responds "i'm a cyclops." <- and there's a real faint little hitch in his breath when he says cyclops.

idk i just like how they handled the whole. tyson being an outsider even amongst outsiders thing.

i do like that despite there being a slight budding resentment from percy toward tyson, when annabeth voices her distaste for him, percy still questions her on it. "what do you have against tyson, anyway?" percy's relationship and sentiment toward tyson in the beginning was so messy and convoluted and complex and i like that they included it

george and martha how i've missed you......i think they were complimenting annabeth's hair but tyson in the back smiling and reaching for his own hair all flattered.....SHUT UP
