Abandoned house that was left after a dike broke.

I’ve never understood why the annex of the Babcock Building at South Carolina State Hospital boasts this story-tall skylight on the second floor; it seems deeply strange. Actually, everything about the Babcock Building annex is strange. The first floor connects directly to the Administrative Pavilion of the asylum, with its giant red cupola dome. But the second floor can only be reached by a crumbling, wasp-filled skyway with terrifying views down to the ground that would be the destination of anybody who took a misstep because of wasp stings - probably why most photographers don’t find their way there. There is a gorgeous wooden staircase leading down from the second floor - to nowhere. And there is frustratingly little literature explaining what the heck this addition to the main building was used for in the first place.

Jury is still out on this one. Not sure I’m into the new hops. I’ll probably need to drink another just to be sure.
